Hi! Hello Lisa, nice that people are still finding us.

I've cuop but now I can't remember all that I wanted to reply. Oh, Elizabeth, sorry to read about the car repair. We've btdt and our pump failed before a year old and they replaced it for free but we had to pay double labor. Yuck.

Hope you're feeling better now, Harriet. Too bad.

We had heavy rain yesterday, obviously not as bad as Sunny had. However, I got extremely lucky and as I drove around many places kept running into spots where it had rained badly - but I was never in much more than heavy drizzles. Dumb thing yesterday, I got lost twice, both within 12 miles of home on roads I've been on lots. One road just didn't look right and I went a distance till I gave up and turned left--- turns out they'd done a lot of road construction with barriers, etc., and several shops were built and I didn't go quite far enough because it looked to different. Sheesh. DH said he had the same problem with that road a couple weeks ago.

Good news, one big project is all completed and finished with the authorities. I'm feeling like snoopy doing the happy feet dance.

Got a bunch of piled up stuff done. Yesterday was good, today was pretty good...hope this continues.

LisaB, it seems a most logical thing to me, to name one's sewing machines. :) Oooooo, lots of stitches and different means of working so you can get so much out of them. Yay. So glad to have you posting more regularly, and greetings back to dh. Great to have a school so close for dd16. Hope you get to see the baby soon.

CathyS, thinking of you and sale possibilities!

Skippable story: DD called a while ago to tell me gd16's 'foster' Mom called to let her know: "the honeymoon's over". Took 8 weeks! Not that there haven't been times that she's pushed buttons, but the incident today called for firm measure. Seemed they were all cleaning and her job was to sweep the back porch. She got mad because she didn't want to do it and broke the broom. They gave her a whisk broom to complete the job. ;) "Mom" called to let dd know, "You'll probably get a call saying, "I want to come home". The answer to that will be: "You are home." Dfriend can afford to be even more firm than dd tried to be. She's always said if it ends up that gd16 needs more they'll take care of it. Good thing because dd has 'burned all those bridges'. Oh, and they also banned her from every electronic for a week -with orders that she cannot even touch them. Should be an interesting week. But at least we don't have to deal with it. But dfriend at least wanted dd to be kept abreast with what's happening.

Hens are having a party  loving the corn that was past prime but  great for hen food! Cleaned out a fridge and found lots of other goodies for them also.

ToddlerN wanted to stay here again this week. Her dad's house was having hot water tank issue's.

More fires in our area but they are small and contained or reduced.

Hi Lisa... I'm cowinkie now Ramblinrose

Haboo on its way with two walls of dust. Lighting is suppose to be bad as well as the wind and rain. Still abt an hour from me... All tv stations posting warnings and will dedicate most of their time on the storms. We get microbursts which are like mini hurricanes. Time to batten down the hatches. Was 115* today with warm low records with temps only reaching 93*. If the same thing happens in the morning we will break another record.

Watching the storms on tv and I think we're gonna get clobbered.

The dust wall is over 1000 ft tall...

Dee One positive thing about your previous post - that's a new record for gd making an effort.

I did a bit of the high priority stuff (not all) and then walked down to the mailbox, dropped off two months of rent cheques and picked up the mail. Which had another credit card bill, so I reconciled that immediately (no payment was due because I had overpaid the previous month to stop interest charges.)

Then dh came home and we decided to go out to the house even though the cable company assured us the internet was working. I had things to take out and we needed to get the mail from the general store. I set up mail redirect for household things to here but when paying, the system completely rebooted. It took two more reboots to get the system working again so I was standing for 40 minutes. Am a bit sore now.

The side yard is completely dug up. It is awfully close to many of the trees. I hope they survive (these were two from my dad's yard and one from dh's dad's place.) Don't really care about the apple trees but the maples and oak are special to us.

Found some stuff in the house for ds (cushions for the kitchen chairs, clothes pegs.) Then we had dinner out and ran errands on the way home.

My music friend called so we talked a while, then ds called from work to chat.

Dh has decided to go to Boston next week. He asked if I'd come with him but I had to say no. My sister booked a visit here THREE weeks ago. Dd is gone, ds is now going to be away and now dh proposes we be gone too. That doesn't seem right to me. So dh is working on going by himself. He'll be back in time for the dinner with my sister, if the drive goes smoothly (Boston is only 7 hours from here.)

I'll be carless for that time but can't think of a reason why I'd need a car so that OK. Worst comes to worst, I can rent one for a day or join a shared car service.

Got 1 row on the butterflies afghan assembled. Looks good, but need to tack down butterfly wings, because they look floppy and morphed.

Primary care Dr. office called to say the clinic I wanted to go to, doesn't carry my insurance, so it's back to "Pink Eye Paradise."  :x I hope I won't pick it up there again. :!:  But they DO have good Dr.'s, have my records, know my history, I like the 2 specialists there I deal with, so that's a win-win. I might have been susceptible to pink eye (bacterial AND viral) the past 2 years because I might have picked it up while out of the house. :?:

Anyway, DH and I got out old frames of mine. I have about 7 good ones to choose from, to have new lenses put in. I chose the dark frames, which are rectangle and dark. I didn't like the bigger rounder lenses/frames because they circle the puffy circles beneath my eyes, accentuating my puffy circles.  I inherited them from Great Aunt Celia and Dmom. :o But the dark frames are a dark tortoise shell (matches the type of feline friend I own!) :P and they make me look "smarter". Like a brainiac person. Gotta HAVE THAT! 8-) Also, next week, I'm getting my hair cut. I have a certain style in mind, which is a short asymmetrical cut. It's totally modern and unlike me. With my tortoise horn-rimmed glasses, I'll look totally different!  Anyway, I'm hoping they'll be able to put the bifocals into these frames I'm wanting to have re-filled with a new prescription. I'm not happy with any of the other ones I own. :(

DH is baking skinless chicken thighs and 2 halves of squash. He cut up melon, so dinner will be good. He'll probably have something with it, too.

DH and Dgs-14 took my magazine subscription cancellation checks to the bank, cashed them, went to Toys 'R' Us, and got me the most adorable teddy bear. He's so soft, the perfect size. I love him. ♥

I'm on LOL #3 drying, getting Dgs-14 ready to go home tomorrow. We're sending home a Mickey Mouse waffle iron because Ddil is NUTS about him, they have 1 Mickey Mouse waffle iron, but they only cook 1 round face waffle. NOW they'll have 2 waffle irons, so the cooking will go faster, for the little ones waiting for the Mickey waffle. :P

Harriet, Are you OK now? I HOPE SO! We only tried Arby's once and they failed to give us our complete order, what we DID have wasn't that "great", so never went back. Dson/Ddil don't care for them either, so won't go. A lot of people love them. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

I need to run and see how the LOL is doing and how soon dinner will be ready. Have a great evening, Everybody. Waving at you all! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

We meet DGS17 for dinner and had a good visit. We lingered after the meal to continue talking. He is doing very well.

RR - OH WOW! I just took a look at haboob on the news. Hope it passes by quickly with minimum damage.

I am ready for my normal high energy level to return! My summer cold is almost gone so hopefully I will stop feeling like I'm dragging an anchor around.
