Hey.. ... I could eat! A little cupcake would be nice. Oops, Dee... ... she says she's been looking for help... ... she may be too smart for us and get us to work.

I did the strangest thing I haven't mentioned here yet. Went to a comic book store. I don't think I've been in one in 10, maybe 15 years. Possibly before dd15 was born? Hmmm... ... Anyway, dd bought a Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles current issue comic for the young man who had the nerve to visit here the other day. It will be his bday soon. I think that's a good choice - $3.99, pretty benign, expense-appropriate for an unemployed girl, no "meaning" to it, to carry to a bday party his mother is hosting. I will say, TMNT have turned very dark in these ensuing years, since the 80s!

The 2nd part of that trip that we had hoped would be helpful was a second-hand store nearby, but it turned out to be small and boring, and we found absolutely nothing. Funny the difference in second-hand stores - there have been times we have been delighted with the oddities and rarities some have.

Finding a comic book store relatively close might be helpful for the grandboys... ... hmmm. This one certainly had no embarrassment at including the very juvenile along with the very sophisticated. Walking Dead, My Little Pony - all right there. Death of Wolverine a step away from Captain Underpants.

Dee: two years ago I had the Hepatitis, last summer it was pancreatitis and gall bladder surgery. I've been sick a long time. Sigh....

And like Harmony, my weight is up - I just looked and I weigh 20 lbs more now than I did before I got the hepatitis. I thought it was only 10 pounds more but nope, it is 20. I had no idea how much I had packed on since hepatitis but from there I went to bad knees and couldn't walk, to recovering and the weight starting to drop, to hospitalizations and medically required week-long fasts, to bad knees again, to recovering and the weight nudging slightly lower, to plantar faciitis and not being able to walk again.

Back home from the grocery store. Gave up waiting for dh. Nice weather for biking. The store didn't have carrots (!) and potatoes were $6 for 10 lbs or $1.29/lb if I buy them singly. I'll hope a sale comes up tomorrow. The flyers weren't in the mail room today so I'm grumpy about that since the sales start tomorrow.

Walked up the stairs from 16 - 22 but only got credit for 5 flights of stairs. Apparently I have to stop at every second landing in order to get credit for a full flight, even though that is 14 steps. I walked up 84 stairs I was really winded but only during the last flight. So I'm getting better, before I could only do 4 floors before becoming winded. I still need to do 10 a day and I seldom do over 5. Yesterday, because I was at the house, I got 7 in. Walking to the grocery store is good for 2-3 flights because it is uphill in both directions!

Found some magazines to let go of and fabrics I could part with so the trunk is half full now! It is good to see this progress. I worked on the table a bit too. So I have dc done a round robin trying to take at least three things out of each room to donate or toss! So far so good. Toddler-n is here now.

Hmmm... I'm definitely slowing down, not that I was ever moving particularly quickly today. :) I am back from the groc. store too to buy more ingredients for dinner b/c our dinner party has now grown to 8, not including baby J. Dd16's bff is here and will be joining us.

I had 5 things on my groc. list. I forgot to buy one. Another, they didn't have - fresh brussel sprouts. I also forgot to buy 2 other things that were not on my list. This was quite the forgettable - or forgetful - shopping trip. At least we'll have plenty of chicken for dinner tonight.

I made an appt. for dkitty for a check up next week.

I'm not sure what else I've done since I last posted, but the a.m. routine is done, I've cleaned up a doggy mess left on the carpet downstairs when I went to pick up dd16 and thought to myself, "I'll only be gone about 30 minutes. I won't bother with crating the dogs. . . " Grrr.... never again. I've driven dd16 around, dropped off a friend (not bff) at her home, And probably some other sundry items which I can't remember right now.

Now, I need to get dinner going. 8 here for dinner; the 4 of us, S and R, their friend visiting from TX, and then dd16's bff. And baby J. We'll eat outside since the weather is so gorgeous!

The house does smell fantastic. But no samples - I'll slap handz as I did with DH a bit ago. Company would be great however.
Tomorrow we are going to a Farmers Market in the morning. We have to go past the church so I will pick up serving trays to plate the cookies. Just found out I willbe doing another Memorial soon as mmember passed last night. That's what happens when one lives ina retirement ommunity.

Dsil is going back to the ER as his hearing has not yet returned and he really can't say the ear is better. Sigh....

Last night I told him he should see his family doctor today. But by the time he decided he needed to go, it was too late (and the doctor doesn't work Fridays or weekends) so he's going back to the ER. This is why our medical system is so backed up. There is no financial incentive not to use the ER for things like ear infections.

Not to wish him a rough time but if the ER is backed up tonight, that will make him less tempted to use the ER for non emergencies. Because really, if he waited all last night and all today before deciding he needed a doctor he obviously isn't an emergency.

Dinner was a success. And since it was a crock pot meal, it will be easy to clean up.
