Must say, FF, that I'm so thankful since my eye exam on Monday -that he said there's no sign of any kind of eye disease, except the cataract. I've known those with mac degeneration and I know their treatments have not been fun. I was especially relieved to know there's no diabetic damage.

It's so hard to buckle down and actually do something now that I am finally home. I may need to push my li&t off to tomorrow, when I have a quiet day.

I got through most of a.m. routine, then picked up meals for dmom and went to visit. My nephew was there - this is my brother's son and he had already mowed my sister's yard so I'm happy for that. Yesterday I did the paperwork to get it on the market - they have to take photos and then get it on the MLS so may be next week, but at least it's underway. I was back home today at 1:40 for a minute, then took off with Moses for a vet visit. Moe appears to be fine, but I left him at the vet so they could give him a local anesthetic and cauterize a cyst on the top of his head that keeps bleeding and scabbing over. I ran a couple of errands while he was at the vet and awarded myself a walk through Hob Lob. Finally back home.

I've been playing phone tag with dd today. She called last night at 10:15 as we were going to bed, so I told her I'd talk to her today but she has called when I've been busy and vice versa. She's thinking of taking additional classes to add another minor and thinks she can do and still graduate in May.

Dh has an evening meeting and said he will probably go out for dinner with some of the meeting participants when it is over, so quiet evening here.

I am going to promise myself that I will make the Li&t for tomorrow before bedtime, and I am going to relax now.

Thankful that we had fun with sidewalk chalk before toddlerN left. Also thankful the gal double checked to see if 3 bobbins would fit on the lazy kate before I ordered the other lazy Kate saved me some $. And that I have a 3 day weekend. got to watch a Knitting show and knit and crochet now got a couple more book titles on my wishlist about knitting. I will see if the library has them.

Geesh twins it's hard to believe your kids are going to graduate in May. It seems like they just got there. Hope your dd is enjoying her new apartment. I looked on g ogle maps and my old Victorian Manor still stands though it is really looking its age.. Not much upkeep going on. Hard to believe I lived there 40 years ago. It was my first apartment and I loved living there.

Glad you made it home safely Helia... That's a lot of miles to travel, but a wonderful way to spend time with your son. Bet you had some memorable conversations along the way. I always treasured mine when traveling all those interstate miles with my son... Oh the things a mother can learn.

I have been busy doing lots of little things and it seems like my day has last forever. Rain is in the background and I'm sure it will be upon us before the evening is over. Tomorrow I will loop my errands together and set sail for a busy day.

In a little more than two weeks and I will have my tootsies in the sand and smelling the ocean's breezes

Good day here. We did nothing. I finally beat ds at gin. I finished my book reading out on the beach. I walked the beach.

I did the crossword (not all correctly but there's something in every box which is better than yesterday.)

We dressed up and had dinner at the lodge. The dining room was only 1/2 full so noise wasn't an issue and we had a window table with a view. Food was quite good. TGF dressed really nicely and while she and dh were in the buffet line dh heard a little girl say, "Look mommy at the pretty dress!" pointing at TGF. Glad we dress up for dinner - it was expensive so it was good we made it an occasion (and we are thankful we can pay that large a bill without too much pain.) We won't be eating there again this trip! And the money we save on cooking in this cabin does cover the higher cost of the cabin when there are four of us. Over 6 days that's 54 meals (dh doesn't eat lunch.) So breakfast and dinners at the lodge, if we bought the meal place would be over $1450, and lunches another $300. Our meals will be at about 1/3 of that and that's eating out half the nights including once at the lodge.

Tonight they are showing a movie on the beach (we think - nothing was set up as we went by.) So those of us not sick are going down to at least check it out and possibly to watch Kung Fu Panda.

Hi everyone! I had my last art class this morning. The crocheted jacket is completed (except for blocking and state fair entry) and that is how I was paying for my classes. I ate lunch with a friend, and ate well with vegetables and pasta. I have not exercised yet, I may just walk around the block later. Does weeding count as exercise? I went to the library, returned one and got 5 more. In the parking lot, a nice man pointed out my low tires, so I got that fixed. One of the tires needed a patch (free), the others just needed air. When I got home, I checked the bills and mailed off some checks to deposit.

Next up: email check and job search activities.

Other things that must be done tonight: call parents about check, email the X re scheduling DD12, weave one end into crocheted shawl and take pictures for Ravelry and AC&N, Java study, checkbook balance.

Pending items: foster kitten scrapbook, find out how to download movies from library, bill pay, animal org minutes, organize and burn to CD the pictures from dad's visit.

I see the ophthalmologist later this month, to get the verdict on my one membrane over my one eye, an adhesion in the other, the dry-form macular degeneration and the cataracts are not "ripe" yet, to do surgery on. The membrane and adhesion, both, could have surgery on them any time. But my specialist pointed out how good I can currently see, how infection and bleeding and blindness are risks to surgery, and suggested to not do surgeries at this time. He'll only do it, unless it's necessary, when or IF the membrane or adhesion change dramatically. Oh! I asked him about miracles and healing on their own. He admitted how an adhesion can spontaneously heal on their own, so I'm praying for a 100% about face healing in that eye. It would be so wonderful. As it is right now, there's a mere filament holding the eye gel in the eyeball, holding the area in front of the retina in place. If it healed on its own, it certainly would be a most welcome miracle for me. I'm not diabetic, so don't have that problem facing me. I'm glad, too, and I don't have Glaucoma either. Some people might pity me, for the 4 things I DO have with my eyes, but I feel so fortunate for what I DON'T have! I have my sight, too, which is wonderful.

Oh, Elizabeth! Your crocheted jacket sounds so beautiful! I hope you get a good ribbon at the State Fair, too! Is the crocheted jacket in ecru thread? Or did you use a heavier weight yarn and a different color? Is the jacket for an adult or child or baby? I bet it's just gorgeous!

I'm not very good at crossword puzzles at all, cannot figure out Sudoku, even with my grandsons' help, but I can excel in Word Search just fine! Go figure. It must be a mathematical "block" preventing the Sudoku learning and crossword puzzles are so aggravating because when I feel I have correct words across, I start putting them in downwards and almost all the horizontal words are wrong. But with Word Search, I have tons of fun doing them. I'm not too keen on jigsaw puzzles either. I have a kitty cat who loves to get into the midst of what I'm doing. I'm afraid if I had a jigsaw puzzle on the card table, she'd be up there trying to "help" me. (She's a very helpful cat- or so she thinks!)

Twins' Mom, Isn't it frustrating to play phone tag. Sometimes, our DD calls later than we are ready to talk, as we're tired and heading to bed, too. Then, the next day it's phone tag.

I got a story off today, #4 for Dec. with a Sept. 19th deadline, so I'm very early. I figured, since Jan. stories deadline is Oct. 24, I can take TEN DAYS OFF, to crochet, work on the house, do walking, pen palling or whatever I want to. Then, on Sept. 1, I can hand write the Jan. stories from the index card outlines, try to get them all submitted by Oct.1. Then, I can take time off to "play" again, until I do Feb. stories, not due until Nov. 14. If I work earlier, I don't get stressed about a quickly looming deadline. AND it'll give me more time, to prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas and to get Christmas crochet finished, too. I'm so excited that I got 4 Dec. stories in way early. I'm truly going to enjoy these next 10 days.

A lazy kate is a bobbin holder to use while plying yarn.
