Back from Petsmart, car wash, temple, frat house next door, and Pub lix. I couldn't find cks to sign at temple, but did pick up fresh eggs. I walked over to frat house because I wanted to remind them that we have Friday night services and need our parking lot until 7:30 or so - appears they had a bunch of cars in our lot at 4 p.m. and the university just started back up.

I shaped the challah when I got back and it is rising now.

Why oh why do I get a surge of energy now? is it guilt?

-empty the dishwasher
-reboot laundry
-go outside in the heat and harvest tomatoes

I forgot to tell you this! Last night, I was in the main/guest bathroom, hearing an awful racket coming from the bunny room. I could tell is was our cat into paper. I turned on the light, went in there, and she had the paper handle to the recycle bag, wrapped around her neck! She was walking around the room, dragging around this recycle bag of papers, rumpling up the paper bad loudly. It was so funny. I got the BIGGEST KICK out of my cat! I freed her, she walked off, looking confused at me, like she couldn't figure out what had just happened. She does funny little things like this and yes, this is why I'm called FelineFriend!

I ended up going to The Dollar Tree. I bought 2 novels, 3 spiral bound notebooks, a pkg. of pens, 1 pkg. of stationery computer paper, and 1 angel holding a bird, for my office. I got 9 items, had room for them, in my office! Oh! I forgot! I got a large print word find puzzle book, too. They had great back-to-school bargains. It wasn't too crowded either.

I got the mail: 1 catalog, 1 letter, and 1 pharmacy receipt from DH's insurance company for his meds he's ordered to date this year. The catalog's funny. When we had no curtains, no blinds, at all, here in the house in 2004, when we moved in, we only put up blinds in the master bedroom and master bathroom, with a valance in the utility room. I ordered a curtains catalog, intending to order for our house. But as Mother Nature would have it, in late 2005, we had a Jewish Holiday terrible windstorm, which blew high winds, from the opposite direction, they usually come from. TONS of big timber went down, all over our 36 acres. Much too much timber than what DH and his buddy could use for firewood. We contacted a logging company, who are very professional, they do selective logging, follow your wishes, clean up after themselves, etc.... We had them harvest what was down, all over the woods. The money, left after timber taxes, etc... went toward some furniture, a mower, generator and cornices and blinds for our home. It was wonderful. We even bought school coats, shoes and supplies for all our grandsons. It was so nice to be able to bless our kids and grandsons, not waste the $$, but put it to very good use. So now, when I get the curtains catalog, I laugh! Because we've had our blinds since the summer of 2006 now. If it wasn't for the Jewish Holiday storm we had at that time, we probably would still have no blinds. I love them, they're miniature pleated blinds and the sliding glass door has vertical blinds. The lady, from J. C. Penney's blinds dept. did a super job! She knew DD, when DD used to sell shoes there, all the way through high school AND college! It was so nice to get blinds. It was a treasure-pleasure. Being blind-free in cold weather is not fun.

In Central WA State, they're showing mudslides and flash floods on TV. Oh, my goodness. I sure feel for them. I'm hoping wildfires end, vegetation grows quickly for them, to put an end to this hellish summer for them.

I'd better go CUOP, before my timer goes off. It was nice to get out today. Have a nice later afternoon and evening, Everybody!

Amazed you could get your flu shot already, Nancy. I called the office about mine today to see if I could come in ahead of my appointment (Oct 15th). I usually have a tough day or 2 a few days after the shot. Thought I was escaping it last year, but it hit me about a day later than normal. I was basing my trip to FL on a few days after my Dr appointment when it dawned on me I should be able to do it in September probably. She told me to call in about 2-3 weeks and they'll be scheduling clinics at the practice. That way I still can keep my Dr appointment further out (with time lapse between for the insurance company).

Re flu shot. I asked at the local Rx place I use they had some in. Were advertising em. Like 2 wks. Ago before they came in I just ask when I go in each week. Around my bday is when I get it usually earlier this yr. I have 3 days off and h. Has to work tomorrow so I can just take it easy if I need to.

I dozed off and a loud clap of thunder woke me. It is pouring across the river in a neighboring town h. Said. It is dry here we got like 15 drops of rain.

Heading to bed now. We had a good time out.

Dinner at Seaside Seafood was just too greasy for me. Their fries are pedestrian so I ate only a few. They do amazing but very greasy homemade onion rings so I had one with all the coating then at the rest off dh's plate when he was done but picking off the coating (they use huge hunks of delicious sweet onion. I had one piece of fish and only a few of the bites with the coating.

Earlier I had had an ice cream. So not a healthy eating trip. When I got back to the cabin I had a big bowl of salad, some watermelon and a soda water with three raspberries in it (I'm finding that my preferred special drink.)

Tomorrow night is pizza, another tough meal for me. I'll finish the salad before I go for dinner and then just have a little bit. I'm loving the Dominos Pizza at home because the super thin crust and their stinginess with cheese make it perfect for my system. Their price is cheap enough that we order 2 medium pizzas and only eat half, saving the second half for the following week. Dh gets the toppings he wants with the thick crust he likes and I get green pepper, something I couldn't have when we shared a pizza because the flavour would transfer to dh's side. 'Good' pizza (lots of cheese, chewy crust) just turns my stomach now. It doesn't help that two of my gall bladder attacks were after eating pizza.

I've put a hold on a Rocco Dispirito book so it will be waiting for me when I get home. That's the eating plan Unc's son has been doing with his wife for the past two years (note: they are doing it together so they don't have to negotiate the pizza and fish & chips nights.) They look great (both lost and maintained a loss of over 40 pounds) but more importantly is their energy level. They can't get over how they are going out to jazz concerts that start at midnight or enjoy biking 60 miles a day at times. They feel younger than they have for years. With his genes, he's got to make his body last another 40+ years and I suspect if he can stay this healthy for most of that, he'll get there no problem. What impresses me is that they are older than me and have managed to reverse the decline they were in. That gives me hope.

We're eating crab cakes and scallops for dinner with salads.

I'm writing on a letter to a possible new pen pal. She has the same last name as cousins, so her name caught my eye. She's from Augusta, GA.

The mudslides and flash flooding made it on the National ABC news, here in Central WA State. It's so terrible. I do hope that things will settle down for those folks come fall, if not before.

I emailed 3 grandsons last night, 2 emailed back, and it was delightful to know how they look forward to school/college this fall.

I guess I'd better run and get out my supplements to take with dinner now.

We missed the news football game preempted it, a power surge during a sceen with an explosion when we were watching a movie had a miment we worried abourpt loosing power it came right back on.

It finally rained and still raining.
H. Said water over the roads were down a lane down town on the way home.
