Oh Lucylee...it must be the beginning of Fall if you're going to a football game tonight. I really miss going to them, but realize you're probably past the excitement of all that "goings on". Have a great time anyway. Hope your team gives you a great birthday present and wins...

I got tear duct plugs today!
AND it was no "biggie", I did fine, and it was spur-of-the-moment surprise to me and I did great!
I'm so surprised! My macular degeneration's changed very little, my adhesion's not changed, my membrane may be a bit worst.
My eye sight in that eye was terrible.
I got new prescriptions for my eyeglasses I had years ago, which are horn-rimmed tortoise shell and they don't show my under-eye puffy circles.
They make me look smarter and prettier, too.
I'll get them in 1 week. Insurance company paid for the appt., the plugs, the scan, but NOT the eyeglasses!
We got 20% off because we paid cash.
It came to $440, which is good for progressive lenses, anti-glare, etc... So I'm very happy. I got reversal eye drops, too, but everything's still "fuzzy" to me.
My pupils are still huge. I poked on the letter, here, to make the print larger, at the forum here, but it's still a stretch to see very good.
I'm so happy it wasn't any problem at all, to get tear duct plugs. I've had terrible, TERRIBLE dry eyes for YEARS! We've been trying so many things, to help it, but my eyes only got worst.
My Dr. said I can do everything the same, I won't lose tears into the nasal cavity now, and when I asked him "What if I CRY?"
He said, "That's GREAT! It'll lubricate the eyes real well!"
So now I need to try to cry more?
Maybe if I watch comedies and laugh so hard my belly aches and i cry from laughter, that'll be more pleasant.
then, the SUN started coming out on our way home!
It's hard on dilated eyes.
But it's still pretty and now DH will go mow.
I got a letter from DD, from and pen pal and her adult Down's syndrome DD, and a letter from 1 gal who wrote less than 1/8th inches tall on her words. TEENY TINY! I couldn't even make out what her return address says. DH couldn't figure it out either. It was impossible to read any words at all. I couldn't believe it, actually.
Maybe she's related to Tom Thumb?
I don't have enough LOL to run a load. There are not enough dishes to run the DW. I guess I'll write letters, as my eyes improve.
I hope the BIRTHDAY GIRLS ARE HAVING A GREAT DAY!!!!
Have a wonderful afternoon, Everybody! It's hard to see, so I'm signing off now. Take care of yourselves and we'll enjoy celebrating with Sherinjoy, Harmony, and Lucylee today, too.

Yes,
RR, fall has fell...

Actually, our high school played a jamboree game last week, and oldest dcousin, who is a senior, dislocated his shoulder. Hoping that is all it is -- he did this to the other shoulder last year and required surgery and missed most of his junior season. Now he's done it again and will miss at least half of his senior season. He is NOT a happy camper. His brother is a junior and also plays, though, and of course, dh & ds just like to follow the local team, since it they both played for the same team (along with dfil, dbil, and dnephew). It's quite a family tradition. Coach (in his third year) is also a hometown boy, former student of mine & dh's, and I grew up in church w/his family and have always been close to them -- so we want him to do well.
The big kickoff to fall, however, is Saturday, when college football starts. Weather prediction is HOT and RAINY. I hope hope hope ddil does not change her mind and decide to stay home!!! Ooohhh how I hope she does not change her mind. Right now, she wants to do whatever ds does, and he is going, so she is going. I am sooo sooo glad to be needed to keep dgs. I do NOT want to sit all afternoon in the hot sun and/or steamy rain. I can stand night games, especially when the weather cools off a bit, but southern Alabama is NOT the place to be (if one values comfort) on an August afternoon. DH, OTOH, does not value comfort so much, and wild horses could not keep him away from an Auburn home game.
Wow, FF!!! I am so glad that procedure turned out so well. You go, girl!
DGS is running late. DS just called and said, "I don't know why I said I'd be there at 3:30. DGS can go with me to the oil change place. We'll be at your house when we get through."
Sweet Mr. Harmony...
I got a very sweet card too, and dh keeps saying, "You did get part of your birthday present already, didn't you? I don't want you to have nothing to show for your birthday..." (But he hates to shop!) I said yes, yes, yes... $60 I spent on books the other day, and I plan to take myself shopping in a couple of weeks (when I have to go for doctor's appt anyway.)
Must run again -- dgs has arrived...

I got home from my trip to dmom's et all around 5 p.m. and decided to nap for 45 min, and after less than 25 min the vet called to ck in about Macs and Moses. (Macs w staph, Moses re: throwing up and "losing control" yesterday.) While talking to the vet, dh came in from work. I have chicken tenderloins in the refrigerator that I am going to bake for supper I think.
I'm feeling sorry for myself.....my mother, sister and dogs. I really don't want to go away this weekend but I guess I'll be better sometime tomorrow?
-find recipe for chicken tenderloins & map out strategy
-finish kitchen clean up that I started earlier (large pot for lasagne sauce still needs washing up)
-reboot laundry, fold lol from dryer and put away
-10 pieces of paper if I can force myself through doing anything
-clear kitchen table and breakfast counter
You know I feel bad for feeling so sorry for myself, I'm not sick (kathryn & harmony) I guess I'm more sick at heart. Just too tired from trip yesterday and the dog drama and my mother today.
Lucylee, when you read this, yes, my mother repeats things also. And I had to call for the hair appt for her - I sat there with the phone in my lap forever while she debated about it. Then she started looking for the phone, and the phone number, which I already had, and then on and on .

Guess I can 'celebrate'. Thought I had dgs9 tomorrow, but it turns out DS-R has taken the day off and is going out for some training on one of the big tow trucks and is taking dgs with him. Thought I might take him to lunch but find I have the day to myself. Maybe I can get some things done around here.
Told dh not to bother me, if I wasn't up tomorrow.

Right like that will happen -me not being up that is.

I haven't CUOP, but I thought I would let you know the campout was wonderful and we are back home.
It was cold this morning when we got up and it was 100 when we got to our house. Altitude makes a big difference.
Time to make dinner.

I am celebrating RAIN!! It is making the local fair mucky and yucky however I didn't hear a single complaint tonight. We didn't stay for the sheep and goat show because they had to move the show arena into a "make do" dry area that was so crowded it was hard to see those showing. We did go through the exhibits that interests me - quilts, vegetables, flowers and photography. I love fair time!
This morning I went with LO class to the Heritage exhibits. Old fashion ways of life shown. We have it so easy now......washer, dryers, dishwashers, electric, running water, etc.
This afternoon I took LO to his counselor appt. That went well.
Tomorrow I get to stay home until noon. That feels like another reason to celebrate!

Just realized (by reading my last post) that I had a load of laundry to go in the dryer. Dh just did that for me.
The pain after I ate lunch was bad. I used heat in the car to help until the advil kicked in. Was fine at the house. We gave the car a good cleaning inside and out (it hasn't been done since May.)
The new owners came over and we went through the house, room by room and they are going to take the mattress and box spring so that's a big thing to not have to worry about! They'll also take the extra Christmas tree and decorations, all the storage shelves and all the paint and plumbing odds and sods. So that means we don't have near as much to get rid of. And any boxes we have left over, they'll take.
They don't want extra carpet or wood bits so the small amounts are in the garbage pile and the bigger amounts are in a pile to go to the ReStore.
Dh took down the licence plates from our parent's cars and the number sign from his parents' home and brought them here. He pointed out a spot for them in the office so they will have a home right away and not be stored.
We'll go back next week, paper recycle week, and put out all the boxes for possessions (like the mixer and my new keyboard) so that stuff will be gone. I've always save packaging and it made this move easier but there just isn't room for that luxury any more.
We picked up dinner on the way home, and watched a movie. As soon as I ate, the cramps came back so it has something to do with my digestive systems but I have no idea what. In the car on the way home, I had a package of Goldfish crackers but didn't cramp up at all so don't know if it is volume or type of food that is setting me off. I have a heat bag back on my side to help with the pain and it is passing.

DH mowed, rains come tomorrow and for Labor Day Weekend. Monday's supposed to be dry though. That week entails a root canal for me and our 44th Wedding Anniversary. Then, it's followed by a Saturday afternoon of DH's Dfriend's funeral and Sunday will be a day for him to chill out and relax.
I wore my great-grandmother's eye-glasses bejeweled pendant to the eye clinic today. I showed 2 nurses and my eye specialist. They're from pioneer times. They show a single lens when you first look at it, but there is a button you pull on and the eye-glassed pop open to show two lenses side by side. Pioneer women wore them to see their needlepoint or whatever crafting types of seamstress, knitting, quilting, embroidery or crochet they were doing. It's magnified, the Dr. said it was a good magnification, he thanked me twice for bringing it in and stated it's the very first time he's ever seen anything like that. It was fun to wear it, for the first time today. ♥
I need to sign off. I'm glad some of you have rain coming, IF you need it! I know ours won't be downpours and floods. Just spotty light scattered summer showers.
Happy Friendly Friday tomorrow, too!
