Kathryn, I say "that" word,too. But very rarely, then quickly pray an apologetic prayer of forgiveness. Is this being kind of oddball? But I feel so guilty when I slip and never, except rarely slip in front of DH. He rarely swears, seems so in control and "perfect." He and I laugh at his "perfection", too, especially when he makes a big goof. I tell him it makes me feel so GOOD when he does a mistake!

I sometimes say "Oh, fudge-cycle!" or "Oh, drats!" and silly things like "oh phooey-pooy." My DGS got a kick out of fudge-cycle once. He laughed and laughed. I told him it was better than the "other" word.

It started sprinkling here now. DH just put on Soundscapes (New Age-type) music. Sometimes you hear harps or flutes and it's so very relaxing. It's such a contrast to the action movie he had on, which was so noisy with Sylvester Stallone in it and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Oh, my! Spellcheck said I spelled BOTH of their names correctly! I guess that's hopeful for a writer!

I'd forgotten about my laundry, so it's washing now, load #1. Need to do another load after this is drying. I don't think we'll get to the sheets today. I'm not working on a story either. I have some reading a letter-writing to do. I'm still thinking out my story plot. Might, since I've already written a few scenes out, just go ahead and outline it until the end. A co-writer's tip was he writes the first scene out, then outlines, and sits down, writing the story into Word, from the outline. I know some writers only outline the entire story, whereas some writers write (Like I've done, too) the entire story out by hand. If I do that, I edit as I go and then edit again, when I log it, and after it's done, I edit and proofread it a couple times, until I can see no more improvement in it.

Kathryn, I hope your Ds gets well soon.

LadyM, that's good you visited with LO's teacher and she's very easy-going, too. That's sweet about the children not knowing what a "procedure" was. It's so wonderful they're making him "Get Well," cards, too. That's so thoughtful of them.

Nancy, Your cookies sound delicious. I'm a "cookie monster," so be thankful I'm not in your kitchen or your cookies would disappear quickly!

I need to run to check my LOL and write tomorrow's "Hit To Do List," after I review the master list to see what I can put on the hit list for tomorrow.

Hi! We've been having rain off and on all day. I appreciate the rain because it will soon be dry season and I really hate that. It's all a matter of perspective I guess. I have a friend from church and she hates rain. She grew up near a river and had flooding quite a bit. She wishes she could live in the desert. I could never live there. My spirit feels parched when we're in drought. Does that sound odd?

And I used to love the snow when we were up north. It was so pretty. I just didn't like the endless days of slush and mud when it all melted.

I did a very worthwhile job of straightening up the living areas around here. And I handled a gnarly business situation which DSiL helped me with. She picked up some papers and took them to post. They are for her house we are building.

I worked on a file and got it to the preliminary stage and typed up a spreadsheet for DH to edit. I think I found all our missing profit since May! These are the people we think are borderline hoarders. And everything got moved around as we tore up every bit of tile everywhere and redid it all and put in new bathroom & kitchen. Working around stacks and piles of everything. Plus numerous trips to the landfill and a good portion of the stuff we hauled out of there was not our stuff! It inspires me to keep my mess down to the basic minimums!

H. Called and is off in time to see about getting the headlight fixed, I said to take a look at the white jeep too.

I am thinking of the other cookies I did yet to make and the supplies for the next ones oatmeal raisin ch. chip. When I do the next baking day. I need oatmeal and cake mixes.

The hens loved the juice from the fruit in oatmeal, we used to drink it but with the fruitouse issues we no longer do that.

Time to think about dinner fish I think.

Ds has gone to sleep until he needs to leave for work.

I'm enjoying a few minutes peace and quiet (dh is off at choir auditions.) I'm hoping he'll have fun with this choir since he wants to sing and sing and while I like it, I'd rather be writing. I like to sing for fun but lately I'm feeling pressure.

That reminds me, I have to get the service done for Sunday. I'm teaching Sunday School too so it will be another really busy day.

I'm very excited about ds's new place. Finally, I can start to figure out exactly what we'll keep and give away. Until I knew what sort of space he'd have, I couldn't more forward with this final stage of the move - emptying the house.

YIPPEE! I finished edging DGS-5.5's Christmas afghan in red and it's now folded neatly, in my hope chest awaiting a pre-wash in December before wrapping it. Next, I can finish a pair of potholders for BFF or start DGS-3.5's Christmas afghan.

I listened to music while I crocheted. They played things like Enya, some harp/flute music, etc.. So relaxing!

Light showers stopped, but are to start again.

I have 3 letters to write; 2 are to new pals, introducing myself to them, and 1 is a L. L. to BFF in NY.

Need to write a list for tomorrow. I put away 1 LOL, have 1 LOL in the washer on a timer to start in 45 minutes. After I put it away, I'll s2s and shampoo, relax, read and perhaps crochet again? Or crack open my sample issues of Ellery Queen and Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazines.

Kathryn, I'm glad your Dson is getting rested up before work. It's good Dson got the apartment without needing a co-sign, too.

Nancy, It's good your DH is getting the headlight fixed and good luck to him and you, on looking at Jeeps and making a final decision, too. (I can still smell your cookies through cyberspace.)

Harmony, Parched spirits, when you're in a drought doesn't sound odd to me. We're so affected by the weather-mind connection, if there IS one. I think there must be! When it's sunny, I feel more energetic, when it's foggy, I want to snuggle with kitty cat and nap, when it rains, I feel like doing crocheting.

LadyM, How is LO feeling this evening? I wondered if he had a hoarse throat. I did, after 2 major surgeries.

Typing on phone bc I'm watching dgs nap! LOL -- I put him on the couch and I don't want him to fall off.
Toddler Time at church must have pushed him over the limit. He fell asleep on the way home and he's been asleep almost two hours!

I had to air out the house so I would not be so tempted by the yumny cookie smells.

H. Got the headlite fixed. White jeep was too tall and had too big of tires for muddin' not what we wanted. Saw a diff. Black one too tall as well.

Took a med. Walk & still working in laundry.
Dinner is done.
Bs crashed had to eat ppj before fish portions for dinber. At least it came down finally.

So far as keeping up with any semblance of routines or housework or anything, this day has NOT been worthwhile...
But so far as keeping up with dgs... yeah... it has been a wonderful day. I am EXHAUSTED... but he has been a lot of fun. For the first part of the day, I just mainly let him do his own thing and I dozed a bit (a really TINY bit, I think) on the couch. But later, he helped me put two loads of laundry in the dryer, and we went to the post office and the Toddler Time at church, and that wore him out. He fell asleep on the way home and napped for two hours. Then we played some more... and finally, I have him in the pack-n-play, and I don't know if he will fall asleep before his da-da returns or not. I think he is saying, even now, "No, donwanna lay down." LOL... He may be fussing right now, but he is really pretty good natured. When I ask him to help with something, he usually will cheerfully say "Okay!" and sometimes today he would get tickled at something and just laugh and laugh. He's beginning to get into a little bit of pretend play, you know. Got in his little Cozy Coupe, after filling it up w/gas from the toy gas pump, and said, "Gotta go!" "Bye-bye!" I cannot believe how -- oh phooey... I started to say I cannot believe how I worried about this back before he was born, but OF COURSE I can believe it... I've worried about every single thing that ever happened to me.
I know all this grandma stuff is just old hat to most of y'all, but it is so amazing, especially when it's your first time through.

OTOH... dmom did NOT show up at my house tonight, for me to help her update her medical history (since my printer works and hers does not) AND she did not show up for her church luncheon which she had planned to go to... AND she did not make it to her ENT appt yesterday. But she re-scheduled that for tomorrow. She said she just didn't feel well enough to have the energy to get ready to go yesterday. This drives me crazy... But tomorrow she does plan to go, and then she plans for me to take her to get her SUV out of the shop. We shall see.
