I've finally cleaned the counters and sinks in the bathrooms, powder room & utility rooms. I stripped the bed, the sheets just bleached, and they're awaiting their turn in the dryer, as soon as the dark towels finish drying. I decided to do kitchen counters, at night, in the dark. We have black 12-inch granite tiles. If I clean at night, I can turn on the can ceiling lights, the eating bar pendant lights and under counter lights. Somehow, I seem to "see better" at night, when the lights are on, than if I go by the daylight and lights. I don't know why, but cleaning in the dark, with lights on, in the kitchen works better. But I cannot dust mop or dust at night, because the wood, on furniture and the fir floors, are harder to see the dust, at night.

I have this itty bitty bug flying around my face!

Dsis emailed me. It was really super. She's in Utah, may get the remnants of the storm, where she is, and isn't looking forward to it. She's not able to get her home sold in the Pacific NW and it's been a year with her current realtor. Dsis is considering getting a new realtor at the end of the month.

My bone growth on my little pinky lower knuckle's been bothering me today. Dr. said if it gets bigger, he's sending me to an orthopedist. I didn't ask why. I just said really? He said "That's a bone Dr." DUH! He said if I bump it, it'll hurt, too. I don't have any arthritis, which gnarls the knuckles either. This is the only place on a joint on my body that's doing this. I noticed it about 2 months ago. Strange.

LadyMaverick, I'm so GLAD LO's surgery was a success for him! I'd have a party when the bandage comes off,TOO! You've been so good to update us. We all care, of course, too. Bless little LO's heart. ♥

Harmony, Wow. Your rain sounds a LOT! Oh, your poor DH! He sounded miserably wet! Sorry you're aching all over. You've been doing a LOT of work! Wow. You must have a lot of energy. You'll probably sleep well tonight.

Kathryn, Sorry that 15-minutes made no difference, but it's good the kitchen's looking better now. Your dinner suggestion sounded good to me. Sorry TGF broke up with Dson. I know what "sick with worry" over adult kids is like, too. Oh, my. It's so hard for parents to see their adult kids go through break-ups, etc...

RamblinRose, Your house sounds so fragrant! Oh, my. Oh, Utah peaches! I bet my Dsis can get those, too. Peach pies sound delicious.

Dove, Did you get your dining room table project put away in time for dinner? Is it a crafting project or paperwork or something like that?

Twins' Mom, I bet your house looks wonderful all decorated up. Sorry about the walk not being perfect, too.

I thought I'd accidentally donated an embroidered pillow of a basket of flowers and it has forest green crocheted corners. It's so beautiful. I have a red fuzzy body pillow, from DD, and DH threw it over the breakfast-in-bed-tray under the bay window in the bedroom. Well, he likes it, I wanted to donate the body pillow and since I rarely use it, I thought it was a good idea. I told him my plan today, he said "But I use the red thing!" I said, "What for?" He said, "I lay my jeans on it at night. I like it for my jeans." The reason is because his belt buckle scratched up or dinged a few spots on my hope chest. He didn't want to ruin my hope chest anymore, and started using "the red thing." When I found the pillow again today, after I don't know HOW long, I was thrilled! Now, I can do what I call "MAKE THE BED PRETTY!" And the focus of my pillow area will be the embroidered pillow. FlyLady said this week, upcoming, we're in the master bedroom. This is a total coincidence. I might get a different throw for my side of the bed put on, too, to change the decor in the bedroom a bit more.

I don't think that was skippable, LadyM. I think it was heartwarming. It also sounds like a very healthy change. There's the physical help, which is healthy. And there's healthy confidence, both in going through a medical procedure successfully AND hitting the fence.

I also wish Kathryn and ds the easy answer of everything getting back to normal if possible. But if it doesn't, there's happiness in other directions as well. He's so young!

I ended up washing ds's clothes twice and then spraying them with Febreeze and putting them in the dryer. They are out on the balcony because they smell like manure & Febreeze scented clothes and I don't want them in the apartment. He can decide if he'll wear them or not. I don't think they are a complete lost cause but with only a few hours to get out smells that had several weeks to ripen I think what we have is what we'll get.

I've sprayed down the washer with Febreeze as well.

Obviously, even if they were pristine, the clothes will smell tomorrow after the walk/run half marathon (he doesn't think he run the whole thing.) His running shoes are also out on the balcony attempting to dry (but it very humid so I don't think they'll dry much overnight.) He washed those in the laundry room sink on this floor (each floor in our building has a washer, dryer and sink in with the garbage chute, only the double apartments have their own washers and dryers) at the same time as he rinsed the clothes and carried them back to the apartment in the dish bucket I gave him to use. He then put the bucket with the shoes on the balcony. When I got to it, hours later, the shoes were sitting in water so they missed some of their drying time.

I've finished prepping the Sunday School class and everything is in the grocery cart ready to be loaded in the car tomorrow morning. The apartment is still a mess due to paperwork but I've asked dh to ignore it for now and I'll do a stash and dash in the morning.

We are going to prep for bed now. And I'll make up a to-do list for the morning and a meal plan.

Lady M I loved that story! It also shows him that all the pain, etc., is worth it.

Went to church
Relieving Priest's take on the scripture lesson was new to me. Strictly about the subject matter. That it was September harvest with rain due. It was important to get the harvest all in. The first workers were promised their wage. Subsequent workers (he said) had been waiting to be hired all day, still hoping to be chosen. They came when he asked them to come with no discussion on payment and worked the rest of the day.
That the last got paid first did rub the all day workers up the wrong way. Agreed.
P's message - they had been waiting all day. Had not been doing nothing. To look at our attitude to what we do. Not just to do it for the end result but to love what we do. To how we use our talents.
He connected it to a certain Qld rural town where manual cane cutters would wait in a certain spot to be chosen to work each day - before the time mechanical harvesters.
I wasn't so sure about the things he had to say about Paul. Enough of that. At least it means I'm getting my days and nights sorted out again.

Checked out a newly opened discount store - replacing the previously liquidated one.
Trying out a new wedge cushion on my desk chair. I think it will help. Wishing my desk chair adjusted in different ways.
Also bought a new wall clock. The old one goes slow - not helpful. And a couple of books to write in. A new one for check lists. That used be helpful.
Shoe polish and socks. Many socks are due to be binned.

Hi Lynlee! Kathryn, sorry about the clothes. Maybe he's learned a good lesson?

LadyM loved the story about LO. That's got to be a huge boost to his ego to be like every other male he's ever seen, able to do that.

I'm still working at the house. FFriend, wrong, I don't have lots of energy. I'm struggling and I'm so stiff and sore. I took an otc pain killer just so I could bend. DH finally came out and cleaned the kitchen floor, it was the last one left. I got the last 2 halls done and 4 more rooms. The DW is running now and I have to put my sheets on the bed. All the furniture except for the office has been wiped with Murph ys oil soap/water.

This is the cleanest the house has been for a long time. Doing dailies and keeping the laundry done - well, the 4D's does not get a house deep cleaned. And I've been so long under the weather, this stuff hasn't been done in a long time.

Tomorrow I will finish, the toilets and sinks, the leather furniture, the counters, sweep the front porch, wipe off some outside chairs for extra seating, the mirrors, the sliding glass doors..oh my there's a lot left.

Re: getting things done with kids here. They go with me to the basement while I do laundry, outside with me while I do out side stuff for "recess".

I have a high chair they sit in when at that age and I do counter work while they eat an can watch me or out the window.

I pick up hot spots with their help every couple hrs. Toddler N. Does tend to be more active than dgd, and loves it when we change rooms to make the bed or fetch laundry. Etc.

When I dust they want to help I have two rainbow dusters they can get the lower areas. When I sweep they get to use the kiddie size broom and dollar store minidust pan I have two of those as well.

I like what dr. Phil says that kids need to adapt to our schedule not visa versa. I have a stroller here and we like walks too.
