Hello to everyone!!!
Gosh-- I don't want to be a damper on things here -- but dh is just. about. to. drive. me. insane.

I had GREAT plans for today:
* walk immediately upon arising
* vacuum house
* color hair
* go to church w/dmom, who is singing tonight at her church

* sheesh *
DH did not want us walking, did not want ds/dgs over here before he left to go play golf, b/c then he would be late, etc. etc.
So when ds called, ready to go, already had dgs in the truck (which I did not know until later in the conversation) -- then I told ds to wait a little while, we'd walk after daddy left...
OH. MY. DS, rightfully so, is beginning to feel that he is an "imposition" on all of us and said he would just stay home... he didn't have to walk... etc. etc. on THAT conversation.
* sheesh *
Then dh gets in this poor pitiful ME routine, how it's HIS fault -- get this: "Because every time I go play golf, you always stay in bed until I leave. I know I need to get up earlier if I am going to be talking to you and all that before I go, so I should have TOLD you to let me know if you were getting up, b/c then I would get up earlier."
Good Grief.
I mean... the man is CRAZY.

And I told him so basically -- and I told him if he could go out and be nice to the men he is playing golf with, he could certainly try a little harder to be nice to US (ds & me) AND that if he had any sense at all, he would be making a doctor's appt rather than a golf appt.
But "he doesn't want to let them down -- his golf buddies are depending on him, and he HATES people who constantly change their plans... He is NOT going to be one of those people."
AUUUGUGUGUGHHHH!!!!

Dee, I wonder if you put your jewelry in a drawer with something over it, to "hide" it, in case of intruders? But now, can't find it. I heard that St. Andrew is the Patron Saint of Lost Things. I hope you'll find it.

DH is burning trash now, since there is a break in the rain. Good boy!

I was super freezing since 6:20 a.m. so about 11:15 a.m., I ended up with underwear, socks, legwarmers on, with denim jeans, UnderArmor long-john top under a long-sleeved sweatshirt, with this heavy-duty fleece Wildlife Association (or something like that) wooded landscape "thing". It zips up the front. It snaps at the wrists, and under the arm, about the height of the chest, to form sleeves. It comes way up the back up in back of the bottom of my head, over the shoulders, down to my feet, with snaps at the ankles, and YES! I CAN walk in it, too! I have to hold it up with 1 hand to walk in it, but finally, after 5 hours, I'm warm, a very happy camper, and feel so comfy. This is cozy and nice. (It's from Hyperthyroidism, a medical thing.)

We have a big storm approaching for Thursday with heavy winds and rains. I'd better get some things done around here, so they're done before the storm arrives. It'll give me Friday to do more, while DH runs errands. Oh, just remembered, I need to write DH a list, too. Forgot.

Blessed, It's good your dd younger has a nice roommate, too.

I'm going to go watch the noon news now and look at my Control Journal Index Card Pages, and write a list. I forgot to write a list last night. I should be looking at my routines on my cards!

We are having the most beautiful weather. Temps in the 70's.

Everyone doing fine here. Dson-18 is so happy to be able to do so many things now.

Getting back on an exercise routine for me that include shoulder workouts, strengthening.

The vest is back at Wal-mart. Different from the old ones. Is shorter and has a zipper instead of buttons. Has the Wal-mart newest logo on the back.

lucylee, your dh needs to be aware that if he keeps this up, ds, ddil and dgs could move closer to her parents, to get away from his demands. Or what if ddil decides to divorce your ds and takes dgs to live near her family. If that happens you will lose your close connection to your dgs and will have to watch your ds go through that. If that happened he might decide to live near them. I realize your dh doesn't have daughters or sisters to understand how some young women can be. We know a couple whose ddil divorced their ds and moved away taking their young dgs. Because of the distance they see dgs rarely and they are/ were devastated. Please know that I am not saying this to upset you but he needs to be careful what he says and how he says it. I am not saying that you two can't have a life and say no, when you need to. But young women nowdays are apt to not tolerate things that upset them with their in-laws. Your dh sure doesn't want to put your ds in the position that he has to pick between his marriage and his parents. I don't think your dh realizes that he could be setting up a train wreck waiting to happen. A lot of daughter in laws would resent their spouse attending so many out of town sporting events year round that your ds accompanies his ddad on. This adds stress to a marriage, you add money issues, etc. and it is a recipe for disaster.

Again, I don't want to upset you but I would rather say this now, than have something happen and wish I would have warned you what could happen. Your dh should know that it is not all about him. He will have a legimate reason for a poor pitiful me routine if his words and action spur a stubborn ddil into a move and/or divorce.

So much for my well planned day. *POOF*

DH said he could stay close by to be on call for LO this morning so I jumped at the opportunity to go buy a washer/dryer. I finally found one that did all the things that I want. FINALLY! The closest Speed Queen dealership is an hour drive (one way), but well worth it to get what I want. There is one brand that still offers the regular washer without all the electronics to control things. When I want hot water, I get hot water. When I want to open the lid and add something it allows it. When I tell it to fill the tub up with rinse water (don't just spray water on the clothes) it does it. Who know finding a washing machine to do what I want would be so hard???? ANYway washer/dryer is ordered and should be arrive in about 1.5 weeks. No problem. I've been without a dryer for weeks. A few more days isn't going to bother me to wait.

I took DMom on trip with me. We stopped off on the way home and had lunch at new resturant. They had the best salad bar I have ever seen. Not the biggest but most definitely the highest quality. I am thrilled to find a healthy eating option close by.

DD is 2.5 hours from DSon's home. She is almost there!

And so glad you found the washer/dryer you wanted, too! I know what you are talking about -- why is it so hard to find things that JUST do what they are supposed to do, not a thousand "extras" that just complicate things? Good of you to take your dmom, too. Sounds like things are going better in that department.

And glad you are at least WARM finally, FF!!! (((BIG HUGS))) for now having to deal w/the thyroid problems.

Dee, I do hope you find that jewelry. Losing things like that is sooo incredibly frustrating. I have BTDT.

Also, so glad to hear your dd is happy w/the new roommate, blessed. That will make such a difference in how the whole year goes. And I'm thinking the smelly remains of the old roommate will just give them something to "bond" over, LOL -- a common enemy, you know. Hard to believe how horrible the old roommate was -- to be leaving stuff in the radiator and under the carpet. Just * shaking my head * -- I mean, I'm sure this is just the tip of the iceberg in the stories you could be telling us about all this. Just glad it's over -- except for the ODOR she left behind. * sigh * (((HUGS)))

Well... progress here... ds & I had a nice walk and he ran two miles. He and dgs are gone now, and I told him if I have to take dmom to the car place for pick-up tomorrow, he (and dgs) can go with me and we'll eat at the restaurant next to the car place. DS & dmom love this restaurant -- it's kind of a "soul food/country cooking" style cafeteria, and Thursday is chicken & dumplings day.
By the time ds left, all seemed well, but Lilac -- I KNOW, I KNOW -- you aren't scaring me with your thoughts, they were already MY thoughts, they are constantly my thoughts... and why dh can't see this, I do not know.
MAYBE, MAYBE, once dh gets over whatever physical trouble he is having at the current time, MAYBE I can talk a little reason into him.
I know that ddil is very eager to get into dmil's house... I know that ddil expresses long term plans, for instance, re: dbil -- she has said on more than one occasion that dbil should be nice to her and ds, b/c now that his wife has left him, his son has moved across the country, and his daughter wants to travel the world, dbil might find that she and ds are the only people who will take care of him in his old age... and I know that ddil knows as limited as our time may be, her parents' time is even more so, b/c they are both still working rather demanding jobs.
I say all this to reassure myself, b/c I know, I really know, that stress w/inlaws can drive you nuts, I have BTDT... and I was never more than 10 minutes from my own parents. I was never going to be tempted to leave this area, (even if I had left dh )b/c I have never lived more than 10 minutes from my parents and they and all my grandparents & great-grandparents were born right here in this same little county. I can only imagine how stressful it is to be so far from home, w/few friends, and then to have stress from the only people you can call "friends" -- your inlaws. * sigh * Maybe I should put it that way to dh... when he feels a little better physically and can stand to have the discussion. Which may be never... * sigh *

Anyway -- I also have a load of clothes waiting in the washer.
Time to hang them to dry, start another load, and then start ME in the shower.

Lilac, I think The Girl Friend broke up with ds partly because she didn't want to move far away from her mom. It has always been just the two of them and I couldn't imagine her moving away. She said her mom was a free-spirit and had only settled down in Calgary during her high school years (and then stayed during college years.) She was talking about moving on again so I figured she might move east in which case TGF would settle with ds here. But I really didn't see her moving so far, permanently, from her mom.

Your concerns were there in my mind when I'd let it drift too far in the speculation of their lives forever after.

I walked over to the transit station and walked back here with dd, then walked back with her and up to the 'main street' and checked out some of the shops I'm always walking by. The natural food store is nicer than the one a block or two farther from me (I got my cane-sweetened cola there, plus henna and some puffed kamut to make squares, the European bakery doesn't have as many European grocery items as their original store did decades ago, and the outdoor shop is very nice. I bought some hiking boots that are higher up so will work with a bit of snow on the ground. And they are waterproof. Picked out some paniers but need to go back with my bike to see if they will fit without my heel hitting them.

The day is glorious outside so I hated to come back home but I was getting tired.

Dh has a sinus headache so has a phone call in to the doctor to see about getting something to help with that. He hasn't been taking decongestants, and is still rinsing his sinuses each day and putting the medicine but there is little progress. I'm getting concerned. They said it would take a month and it has only been a bit over a week but I still worry about the fact that he is so under the weather.

Sinus/allergy problems could be at the root of dh's troubles here, especially since they cut hay all around our house last week.

Beautiful day here, though. Really nice. I love fall and spring weather.

I am coming back through - I have challah in the breadmaker and the gefilte fish (chopped fish, like a pate) in the oven.

Trying to regroup but may just sit here.
