I'm up (again) sigh............ I should have known better than go to bed before dh came home. Of course I fell asleep and once he came in (talking loudly to dsonil to wish him a happy birthday) I was awake. Now I can't get back to sleep. Thought I'd play on the computer for a bit and maybe that will make me drowsy again. And then at 9:55 dh got a text from DS-A -who is evidently out to see, but still was close enough to get a message on his phone about a fire. So dh texted him back about all that.

How's your dnephew doing now, Lady M? So glad that, as Harriet said, it wasn't a barn and cattle in that to boot.

Left my K indle in the bedroom -should have it out here so I could read for a little bit and maybe that will do the trick.

I sort of freaked out when h. Found a jeep today he toom a test drive w out me. Hurmph! Not an automatic,
Bummer. Newer than the last one & all parts work. We started the paper work so no one can buy it out from under us. It is 2004 silver. H is very happy and excited.

I am thinking of things to do for jeep dates, like sonic, the closed the drive in! Lol! H. Promised to take me to the pumpkin patch this weekend. I reminded him of that. The spinning will wheel fit great in the jeep bc of the fold down back in seat.

Yarn meeting went well on my new knitting project is a fiasco however. oh well starting over.

So how are you freaking out this Friday?

Ended up having a pretty good day here... SUV is fixed again... fair went well... got some nice pictures of dgs w/sparkly eyes and big smiles.

OH -- and a book review -- THE HUSBAND'S SECRET. Oh. My. Goodness. Finished reading that at the car dealership today. Can't remember the author's name, but she is from Australia, Lynlee. I gave the book to ddil tonight b/c she likes mystery-kind of books like that, too, I think. As I told her, the secret is not what you think, and when you do find out what it is, you still don't know what they're going to do about it. Oh my goodness... it was sooo good. (Must say, there were some R-rated words in it.) It was sooo good.

Too much funnel cake at the fair. I am not feeling exactly well.

Oh -- also -- got flowers for dmil/dfil's tombstone -- the kind that sits on top of the stone. The florist had these clips that stick on to the stone, and then the flower "saddle" hooks onto them, and it is supposed to keep the flowers on there w/out tying/staking the flowers to the ground. My first concern is that they won't work -- b/c I should have gotten 4 clips but only got 2... and my second concern is that dbil will have a fit b/c we put these sticky clips on the stone. Have any of you ever seen or used any of these things?

Hi everyone! This will be a fast and furious late night check in. Yesterday, I slept way too late. No reason, just tired I guess. When I did get up I made some progress: much organizing of job search stuff, website work, moved money from previous employer into the forgotten fund, filing, followed by a LOOOOONG animal org board meeting. We're talking 2 hours and 50 minutes, with 20 pages of notes. YUCK!

Today and tomorrow our district has no school. Nominally 'fall break' + Columbus day early. In reality, it accommodates people who want to take their kids to balloon fiesta. They were getting too many absences, it made sense. DD12 was here for the day, but will be at the X's tomorrow. She came in early and played computer games and watched DVDs of Bewitched, while I slept late. (Seems to be a pattern for me). I did get up in time for us to have an early lunch at her favorite Italian place. After that, she and I joined the youth group to volunteer at a food bank. We sorted produce, a very yucky, but necessary job. However, for the first 30 minutes, I put my yarn detangling skills to work on getting their aprons untangled. It was really hard getting enough for us all. I overheard one of the permanent workers talking about it to another, they had been tangled up for at least a week! Unfortunately, there were only 6 of us, 3 adults and 3 kids. Fortunately, the kids were all 12 and one was a favorite of DD's.

Returning from that I dropped DD off at the X's, ate dinner while reading, then went to a much shorter meeting. However, this meeting gave me HOMEWORK!!! Website work, which I have just finished. I also talked to one of my traveling friends about our trip to Hawaii, which was supposed to be last summer for my 50th birthday. It was delayed by my layoff and another's cancer treatments. I put forth the idea of letting DD12 come along, which was iffy, because although my companions are grandmother ages, they are childfree. However, the fact that their price for the trip would go down with one more staying in the cabin was a point in our favor. She is going to talk to the other traveler.

Tomorrow is the knit/crochet group. Lunch with friends is doubtful. Cathouse volunteer work is unknown (I had cancelled due to an interview that has been moved). There is website work to be done, I think the News & Events page should be up next. Also, costume work is absolutely essential!!! Crisis cleaning should be done as well.
