Yea got logged back in.
Got 8 eggs today.
It got up to 32* here today.

Had to tweak my phone Rx reminder today. Did not "need" it.
Looking forward to cnn show the dirty jobs guy has a show new show "somebody's got to do it" on tonight has chickens on it.

When h got the feed yesterday got two bags of egg layer instead of one and cob corn oats and barely) w molasses instead of wout was on sale. I said no room to store extra and the "wet" cob gives hens the runs so that did not work either. He was not happy. The heat lamps were not red but I kept those. I told him not the molasses cob. He did not remember that and did not call to check. He was home early the last two days. I think the cold is adding to our stress.

Boy, Nancy, I sure understand when nothing seems to go right.

DH called, he was running late and I had to drive his materials down to the church...and I couldn't find him...he said by his truck on the other side of building but he wasn't there...and 4 phone calls later and 10 minutes sitting in parking lot he finally came out.

Then I couldn't get off the waiting line loop at county office; their paperwork wasn't up to date so I couldn't order over the automatic phone line; their computer program wouldn't let me order; they mischarged us $1.00 too little and I couldn't order the last inspections because fee wasn't paid on another one. Between the holiday this week and this fiasco it's put us back 2 days.

I feel like a volcano ready to explode.
Snow birds are all here, the traffic is awful.

Yep, Dee, I wouldn't like that ride at all. That interstate gets very backed up during rush hour over your way, people there use it like a local road because everything's so clogged... and to the airport area? Yikes! I hope you start to feel better.

Hi everyone... It's been a nice autumn day here. Temp was 62* at 7am and got to low 70s. I think we will cool more when that winter storm makes it to our state.

We were up early to make the school run with dgd12. We dropped of a utility bill payment on the way home, ate a quick breakfast and went over to W-M for grocery shopping. Our pantry was so empty that took us 2 1/2 hours and when we got home another half hour to put it all away! Anyway, I got daily routine done, a few more checks written and a lol through the laundry room and put away.

Re: allergies....when I was in high school (a long time ago) my dsis was getting allergy shots. I borrowed a couple of books from her dr. and wrote my sr. term paper on allergies. I learned a lot from him; one thing was that an allergy can start up at any time in ones lifetime. BTW, my dmom was not able to take any sulfa drugs. She was taking cipro after her cataract operation and had a reaction to it. It raised her BP very high.

Dee...I agree..... I wouldn't want to drive it every day - twice - in rush hour traffic! Also, sending good thoughts your way for everything to work out for you & dh and dsil and dd! Hope you get to be feeling better!

Just a note...

I took sulfa drugs when I was in 8th grade and it nearly killed me. I was at a girl scout meeting when my hives showed up. I didn't know what they were, but my friend did.

My mom just because she had a strange feeling, showed up at the GS meeting. She immediately took me home and called our family dr. who's office was just up the road. He hurried over and gave me a shot of adrenaline. By then my tongue was so swollen my mouth was shut. My feet had huge hives on the bottom of them. I had one HUGE hive that covered me from my pubic area to my neck with another one on top of it. My eyes were almost shut, my fingers looked like balloons and I was purely miserable all over.

The dr told my mom there was no way I could make it to the hospital, so he did what they would have done there. He told my mom another 15 minutes and that would have been the end of me....yeah, you can bet I make sure EVERYONE know I can't take the stuff.......

Bedroom is finished but not everything is put away. Which is a problem because I just remembered we are showing off the apartment tomorrow evening. Sigh... I'll get dh to stuff things in the car.

I've tidied up the kitchen. I should be writing now. I'll at least get on the treadmill for a few minutes. Every step may count although I suspect I'm dropping in the standing this week. I was in the high 40's and have dropped to the high 50's over the past 2 days.

That's alright Kathryn, just keep going ...we all have days like that and you're really doing well.

Forgot to mention....about sulfa

When my mom was 16 she contracted spinal meningitis. Back then the was no cure for it. After finally finding a hospital that would admitt her....spinal meningitis was/is very contagious and like ebola people, hospitals and staff feared it...my mom slipped into a coma.

Knowing it was a certain death sentence, the drs contacted Dr. Jonas Salk know for the polio vaccine and asked him what he would do. Salk told the drs to administer massive doses of sulfa to my mom. It had never been done before...Salk told the drs, who in turn told my mom's father, the treatment would either "kill her or cure her" his words.

My grandfather had to sign all sorts of legal documents before they could give my mom the drugs. She remained in a coma for two weeks....she was in isolation and drs and nurses from all the surrounding hospitals came to observe her. Eventually after two weeks in her coma, my mom woke up.

She was written up in all the medical books as the first person to survive spinal meningitis...the same drug that saved her, nearly killed me.

A few years ago I had an extreme reaction to sulfur/sulfa drugs. My drs. nurse told me not to use anything with sulfur in it, such as Neosporin. I used the cream version for anything and also used a Neosporin lip ointment. I try to remember and check things BEFORE I buy them, instead of after getting them home.

We had a dusting of snow just after dark. It was coming straight down and looked so pretty.

Dd2 enrolled dgd3 and dgd5 in gymnastics last week at the studio that dgd18 works/coaches at, to see if they like it. It is on Wednesdays and by the time they are done, they have time to go home, change clothes and get to their Wednesday night cubbies church group. Dgd3 loves cubbies but she didn't want to go to gymnastics again. She is at most 1 1/2 inches shorter than her dsister who is 19 months older. She was the youngest in the class and had a hard time doing what they were trying to teach her. She didn't want to go tonight but dd2 told her she needed to go one more time and see if she changes her mind. Dgd3 told her she would not be changing her mind about not liking gymnastics and she "just wants her life to be normal again". I laugh every time I think of her saying that.

I mentioned to dh tonight that if he is not better after this round of meds, that he will need to see an ENT dr. We don't have one locally and will probably need to go 4 hours away. He said the dr. did mention that as the next step. I would think so, he just can't keep experimenting with different meds forever.

Peeking in. . . I haven't carefully cuops.

Yeah, in terms of online anonymity, it is hard here since dh is a public person. I know this is true for others here too. His name is on the University's web site and many others as well. If I google his name I get a lot of hits. Actually, I get his father too! To make it worse, those of you who know my irl last name will also know that it is quite unusual. There aren't many with that name in the country. So, it's hard to be too concerned about anonymity here. That said, we did have our credit card compromised a couple times in the last 3? years. But we use it for everything to rack up frequent flyer miles. We use it a fair bit for online ordering/shopping. We do pay the cc in full every month - but that number is out there.

Oh - Rose, that sounds awful! So glad you survived that. Glad your mom survived too! That's pretty amazing.

Ds and dd19 both stopped by tonight, so that was fun. Ds was picking up a suitcase for his trip tomorrow.

I went for a jog this afternoon after work. Yes, in the 35-ish temps. I also walked this a.m .with my good friend B, so I'm feeling virtuous in the exercise department. Except I then ate extra Ww points today.

Tonight, I need to:
- prep Cmas cards for moms group child care workers. I've already printed out the lists of teachers in each class. I just need to put names on all the cards. Then, the moms can start signing them.
- prep craft supplies for moms group 3s and PreK/K classes (the craft coordinator is out of town. Her mother died a couple days ago.)
- prep for classes tomorrow
- edit paragraphs so students can rewrite them tomorrow. Or maybe they'll do the rewrites on Friday.

Hmmm... and it is 10:30. I think I'll be up late tonight.
