What a difference a day makes! I am actually feeling a tiny bit splendiferous today! It is not yet noon, and I have eaten, completed my dmom’s filing, and proofread a paper for a former co-worker!

That filing… * whew * Y’all would just not even believe the mess that was in. Well, mostly, I’d say 90% of her papers (bills/statements/receipts/etc) had not been filed at all all year. I mean, I just had a pile of papers. And some UNOPENED mail from over a month ago! This is not to say she hasn’t opened mail in a month, but she has not opened ALL her mail. I am just shaking my head… and dh is completely dumbfounded. He actually said, “What made her think she wanted to be a bookkeeper?” I explained to him that she was a GOOD bookkeeper, actually in charge of the in-house auditing & compliance department at the local bank… and then my daddy died and her world completely fell apart and she – apparently – lost her mind. * sigh *
And y'all... really... there are like, at LEAST SEVEN separate bank accounts... counting the credit card bill(s). I guess that's right... separate bills for business/personal, separate checking accounts for business/personal, separate checking account for rental house... Good gracious. DH says he would put rental and personal together and just keep books for rental income/outgo. Dmom says that is NOT the way a CPA would like it done. (Any thoughts, Twins?) Dinlaws ran a business, plus half a dozen rental properties, and all their personal expenses all out of one checkbook. Dmom says that is an accountant's nightmare. I think the reason there are SEVEN accounts is because she closed accounts at one bank and transferred to bank here in tiny town, so there's some duplication there.
Maybe maybe maybe this is the last year she will be spread so thin, though, and in 2015 there will be NO business and NO rental property.
She seems to be doing much better (mentally) and maybe we will get through the next year and get her physical problems solved.

She was much OMM yesterday when I first posted… how we will manage Christmas @ her “second” home which (IMHO) is not at all the best option for Christmas… how we will manage her FOUR needed surgeries in the coming year… will she really Get Her Act Together this time, or will her paperwork be in the same big mess in another month, if I am not out there every other day helping…. * sigh *
And also OMM is the constant concern re: ds/ddil’s situation. They’ve just GOT to get out of that tiny house they are in, and dbil seems to be making no progress whatsoever. Has not mentioned any meeting of the minds while dniece is home, etc. * sheesh *

But… as I said… today has started off well. DGS is coming over later, b/c dh offered ds/ddil a “date night” AND, although dh is disappointed, he is handling it well that ds/ddil are going to Nashville Monday night without him. DS and band will be playing up there and dh really, really wanted to go, but ds kinda let me know that ddil was really, really looking forward to the trip for the two of them… so, as I said, dh is handling it well.

Lists… y’all know I love them. As Elizabeth said, I started making lists at an early age and still do, for EVERYTHING. I had to LOL when Elizabeth said no one would know if she developed dementia b/c she was already so forgetful. That is me exactly. I don’t always make a 5x5 or anything specific like that, but I have my cards/checklist, and I make a sort of weekly master list of extras to go along with it.
And I save waaaay too much for posterity… journaling… lists… etc. Constant debate with myself about what to throw out in that department.

There was something else I particularly wanted to comment on yesterday and I have forgotten it. Duh… See above…

OMM... ds's main gift, video from ebay, has not yet arrived... this is very upsetting to me. Getting nervous here...
Worrying about it won't make it arrive faster... must get back to business...
DH is on phone w/ds right now (discussing our new college coaching hire -- defensive coordinator) so I will get in shower when he gets off the phone and I know what time to expect dgs.

Yes Harriet - Rosie and I are still "hangin' out"! Last night we went to Tempe to an old hangout of Sweetie's. It is in Arizona State area and very popular. It has been closed for some time but recently re-opened. It is a sight to behold. There is so much "stuff " in there if it caught fire it would burn for a month. Even has a stuffed horse hanging from the ceiling. Yup, that's right a stuffed horse. The new area has a huge outdoor patio with firepit. We will go back there to try their pizza and hopefully eat on the patio. Sweetie wanted to eat inside so he could reminisce. Get this ----- the name is --- The Mission of Minder Binder.

We will be spending Christmas at the same resort we went to last year with Rosie's dson. He was here at Thanksgiving so won't see him again this year. Maybe in February if he makes it up here. Mr. Guy and I really enjoy his company.

Today is ugly here in AZ as it rained a lot in the night. It is overcast and humid now and I so dislike that. We are staying in today and I have been cleaning, mopping, washing and all that good stuff.

Happy weekend for all of you.

Woke up early to thick fog. So far, I have:
- s2s, dressed, did moisturizer, make-up, earrings, fixed my hair,
- made the bed,
- put dirty laundry in the utility room basket,
- took out recycle,
- wrote my journal exercise out for 2 pages,
- wrote in my other 2 journals; 1 is a different exercise, one is a regular journal,
- took a bit of a nap in the recliner this a.m.

I couldn't get to sleep until after 2 a.m., because I was STARVING! I'm having thyroid problems, have lost 4.7 Lbs. in 1 WEEK, and see the Dr. next week, to get thyroid new test results, and info as to what we do next! This not being able to sleep, just because I didn't binge all night, after dinner until bedtime, is for the BIRDS!

I need to get back to my walking, crocheting hats, house blessing, LOL, and the Army-Navy Game, as soon as it comes one.

Norma ... I was gonna post but you beat me to it

Up before 6, fitness class at 7... Grocery run and chili is cooking. Packages mailed except one... Will do that tonight and I am working three days next week. I need to hang my wreath on my door and window and that's all I'm doing for Xmas except for what is already done.

Traffic and stores are horrible and I am staying away. Sweeties long time friends are having an Xmas party next Sunday and I hope to make a cheese cake for that. Other than that I am DONE and glad of it

Argghhh!

I went to buy the tickets to Peter and the Wolf and it turns out it isn't a true introduction to orchestral music (the orchestra is missing!) and it won't be in the opera (seats 2300) but is 5 instruments in the salon (seats 150.) It is sold out so I didn't have to make a decision of whether or not I would buy the tickets.

So now I have to buy something for the boys for Christmas. Thinking cap on.

I'm making little progress here except the kitchen is all cleaned up and the dishwasher is running.

Ds is over here now. He'll car pool with us to dd's.

She phoned asking if I had chips. The sale she was relying on starts tomorrow. So I'll take the HGP ones I have and she'll replace them next week.

I was online for a few minutes so that's why I'm posting her. Back to the living/dining rooms - the messes in the house.

Hello, villagers ~
Aaah, it's good to be home. This was one of those days that it was hard to get out of the house this morning. Finally got on the road and reached the edge of town, and realized too late that I had left my travel coffee mug at home on the counter so I had to attend meetings with no coffee.

Both meetings today with the sewing group were fine. Everyone was on best behavior, very appropriate for the holiday season. The first meeting with the general membership was not a great program but it was ok. Everyone was in a good mood. Sew & Share was fun -- J brought a big bag full of pajamas and other gifts she had made for her family, L showed a beautiful quilt top she's making for a niece's wedding present, P showed 5 tops she has sewed using her new favorite pattern, K brought the Tshirt quilt she's been making for her daughter. I showed my class project from last month, still a work in progress.

For the 2nd meeting, instead of a business meeting, the board members went out to lunch and socialized. Very ritzy restaurant, somewhat overpriced but I had a yummy tuna salad sandwich and the service was excellent.

I had to go to 2 stores to get a replacement CO2 canister for the soda stream gadget. I had wanted to pick up a couple flavor bottles as well, but abandoned that plan when I saw the crowds. I think DH and I have enough to last until the next time I need to go to The Big City.

I'm trying to get through the day without a nap. I think I'd better go use that soda gadget to brew some cola with caffeine to sip while I cuop. BRB.

I just entered some receipts into Quicken. I desperately have to do reconciliations.

We leave in 20 minutes so I'm going to focus on opening mail. I don't want Lucylee to know how long I leave mine for!

Ds is here. He is also sick. So he's lying down in bed right now. He was supposed to be on Ski Patrol but phoned in sick for that. He was also supposed to be working yesterday (into the night) but got sent home early because he was sick so only got 8 out of 12 hours in. Thankfully it was quiet.

He had an interesting exchange with someone who 1) knew he didn't approve of her lifestyle choices and 2) wanted to know why he had a skull on his sweater. He said 1) he didn't disapprove of her lifestyle choices and that the hospital was there 24/7 in case she needed help, and 2) it was a kind of race he runs. We asked why he didn't explain it wasn't a skull but a spartan in a helmut and he said you can't reason with people high on drugs so it is easier to just be calm and reassuring! I hope he gave her his cold!

I have not had time to cuop. Dm arrived yesterday at 2:30.

Dd2 was out for a run early in the evening and stopped in to say hi. Dm had her normal attitude towards dd2. Dd1 is all depressed and wanting a divorce with all her drama. She stopped by later and dm was all I love your hair, you look so cute, I love your coat, blah..... Dd2 just can't win with that woman.

Then I have been saying since dm has been widowed, that if something happened to my dh, she would come for a funeral and never leave. This morning she informed me that if something happened to my dh, she was moving in. I went to the garage and informed my dh that he better take good care of himself.

I don't know when I'll get back. I do know that it is a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time until Wednesday morning. I love dm but she is a force to be reckoned with................
