Lucylee: colonscopies are nothing. The prep is a bit of a drag but you get to experiment with which flavours of what clear liquids you like. And after you can mock those Hollywood diets that claim a purge will help you lose 10lbs by pointing out you cleared yourself out entirely and gained 3!

Once you are at the hospital you get to lie around. They really do take great care of you. For me the worst part is them starting my IV line. After that, everything is wonderful. And boy is it ever a HUGE letdown to be woken afterwards. The rest you are getting is so deep.

Of course, I'm not sure a doc will send you right away. I'm sure one will get scheduled (you are now in the that demographic, girl!) but I bet he'll look for other causes of your current discomfort.

I'm back from a grocery run, dropping things at ds, picking up his dirty laundry (I offered) and then dinner. We nearly didn't go to the place we wanted to try because there was a sign on the door saying they were closing at 7 for their staff Christmas party. It was 6:15 and we didn't want to rush through dinner. We went in to see the menu (to decide if we'd come back another night) and were assured the doors locked at 7 but we could stay until 8. We had their Sunday night Roast Beef Special (everything was wonderful except the roast beef which neither of us really enjoyed) and treated ourselves to a shared dessert. We will try it again. It had a good vibe to it.

There's a load of laundry running and I'll do the second load immediately.

Dh has a doctor's appointment in the morning so I'll drop him off, drive to ds's and drop off the laundry and should be back to pick up dh without him having to wait too long for me. That will save us parking at the hospital. Unfortunately, it isn't at ds's hospital or we'd just use his parking pass!

I'm exhausted and ready to be tucked into bed but have to work on the Christmas cards. We need to get them out tomorrow (many will not arrive in time.) We did the first push with the newsletters but left some Canadian newsletters and all the personal cards and some business cards. So now we'll be late to about 1/3 of our list. Plus we need to get the invites to the Boxing Day party done.

(((LucyLee))), When I first went to my first G. I. Dr. about 42 YEARS ago, he said:
1- NO FRESH fruits or vegetables! Only cooked or canned!
2- NO DAIRY! I was so young and naive, said "Does this mean eggs, too?" I was a small town girl, so I guess I was a bit stupid, too!

BUT, going to a Dr. is a very proactive, smart thing to do, and you'll feel so relieved and so much better. I hope everything will be better by Christmas, too.

Tidied my small office a bit, addressed/signed a card for my editor, accountant and staff, wash/dried 4 pairs of lounging pajamas that FINALLY FIT me! I wrote my week's notations on my Home Journal Page, for this upcoming week, and wrote my to do list for tomorrow. I'll be eating dinner soon, finishing an outline, and crocheting on a hat.

We saw the Seahawks win! DH is watching the Eagles v. s. the Cowboys now.

LUCYLEE---I had my first colonoscopy 5 years ago and just want to say that I woke up after it feeling like I'd had 8 hours sleep. The anesthesia was great! Getting all the liquid down wasn't too bad either and I usually can't drink a whole can of soda in one sitting. Best wishes to you.

Dh and I got another 40+ cards done. Still about 20 to do. (And we already did over 60!) People are being jettisoned from our lists (yes, plural, there are three, business, personal and then a list for the party which is friends and church family so we don't mail most of those, although lately it has been worth the price of postage not to have to take time to deliver them!)

I'm exhausted and a bit upset there are still more to do. But I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Oh. I just realized we have another 25 or so to do here in the building (20 apartments on this floor, plus a above and below us, the superintendent, and a few of the people we met today.)

I'll just think of it as a form of ministry.

Got the laundry done, folded, and by the front door.

Am heading to bed now. The room is dark, except for my desk lamp because all the timer lights have gone off!

Hi everyone!

Today Wayne and I built a gingerbread house and decorated it.
We also bought the only card we are giving and got the gift certificate to go in it and delivered it.
I had lunch with a friend on Friday and we exchanged gifts.
Our tree is up (on top of a stereo speaker~good thing it's only a 4 foot high fake tree with branches that light up)
The gift pile is becoming a gift mountain! I really overdid it this year. I think it's to make up for all the years that Christmas was not permitted. Since around 2000 or 2001 if I recall...


I also have to pack for our trip to Cuba. Wayne has never been, and has wanted to go south for years, so we are going for a week and leaving on the 26th.

One of the cats has an follow up appt. with the vet tomorrow morning.

The apartment is a total mess. I've never lived in such a messy place. I really need to focus on housework for the next week, so we can have a clean and smell-free Christmas.

I put away my 2nd/last LOL, dusted the small office and MBR, then dust mopped all of the fir floors in the house; next up, is to dust the main office, spare room, dining room/great room area, and some kitchen shelves. What I don't finish tonight, can be there awaiting me tomorrow. DH watered our only houseplant, we keep it up very high, so Kitty Cat doesn't eat it, which we soon found out, she delights in eating flowers/plants, when we adopted her.

I did emails, worked on my calendar, and continue to crochet on hats.

We're watching, "Alaska - The Last Frontier," on the Discovery Channel now. We watched pro-football today, too.
