Re: Toot your horn Thursday
Well, it's not a very loud toot, LOL, but I guess I can toot b/c I have
* called the paper office b/c for the second day in a row, our paper did not arrive
* been to the post office
* mailed one last Christmas card (to ddil's parents -- first one came back b/c they had moved & had the old address)
* paid credit card bill
* talked to ds on the phone -- he may come over later (with dgs) for us to watch dgs while ds goes out to the garage and puts the Corvette together. I think 18 hours alone w/dgs yesterday just about was enough for ddil, so ds will bring him and let her have some down time today
I could use a nap myself, before dgs arrives. LONG LONG day yesterday... physically busy AND emotionally stressful, too.

Re: Toot your horn Thursday
HAPPY B-DAY, ELLYPHANT!!!
57 is a Very Good Year!
LadyM, I LOVE ♥ the theme for the day! It's so motivating! Now, just to DO something, I can TOOT about!
So far, I've copied down an address I needed for a form, replied to emails, worked on calendar reminders, and did a good deed. I've had breakfast, pills, coffee, and the DW is running- thanks to DH.
I'm working on scrunchies for Ddil, DGD, and myself today, will wrap 2 more gifts, once the scrunchies are finished, and decided to s2s later in the afternoon, shave legs, etc... then. I need to do some "things", which I've been putting off, such as comment to a colleague, about his on-line interview I read. I keep forgetting and he's so good to comment on everybody else in our group. But things keep popping up.
I just got out the web address, to run and post a comment to him! Yeah!
Have a GR8 Day, Everybody! TOOT-TOOT-TOOT YOUR HORNS, SO I CAN HEAR THEM!
And Elly, enjoy your day, ALL day, and I hope your DH's gout gets better soon.
Take care, Everyone! Waving at you ALL!

Re: Toot your horn Thursday
Forgot to wish Ellyphant a Happy Birthday earlier. So.....hope you're having a wonderful Birth Day!
Toot, toot -got more done today than the past week & a half all together. Picked up our room and closet ( a lot)! Then spent time picking up in the different areas of the 'great' room. Dh did the dishes (bless him for that). And dh has also made a very big dent in Christmas wrapping. A lot of things were stored in our room to dd from dsonil. Dh also had me order a special Hall mark ornament for dd -she's got the entire Frosty friends collection except the first one (and not sure any of us want to spend the mega bucks to get that one!) Dsonil got her the 35th in the series but there was also a 35th anniversary one that dh felt we should get. Sure didn't want to pay the price, but it's done.
Waiting on a friend with his truck to call. Dh bought a new recliner for our room (something he's been bugging me to do for months now) and they're picking it up tonight when friend gets through work. I plan to take dh up and make another Wal mart run -not that I really want to but my test strips weren't available at the other one yesterday and I only have a few days left. And there's a few things dh wants to get for more cookies.

Re: Toot your horn Thursday
Some progress.
Ds visited for just over an hour. Just dropping in since he had been downtown and we are between his apartment and downtown.
I hit the shower when it was time, even though he was still here (didn't want to over colour my hair.) The henna worked perfectly and I love the colour (I've been using 1/2 wheat blonde and neutral since anything darker than that looks strange and even the wheat blonde was giving me roots on the white pieces so I use neutral on the ends.) Not only does it look great, it feels wonderful. It smells, though. That's the downside, although I recall my hair smelling with the dye at the stylist. It is a lot of work (and mess) but it takes less time than the stylist and I can be productive around the house while it is staining my hair.
Everything is cleaned up and the towels are in the washer.
The whole apartment humidifier arrived when ds was here (glad it wasn't his present!) and so I have that set up and running fill tilt right now to bring the humidity up. So far (about 20 minutes) it is up 4%. Having a humidifier will be many more chores. Including having to empty and disinfect it on a regular basis and empty it and remove the filter when we go away. It is also ugly but if the increased humidity makes my sleep better, I'll be happy.
I need to run over to a store now. Don't want to go outside (no good reason, just feeling lazy) but it is the last day of the ground beef sale and while I have enough for tortiere and eggrolls, I'd like to make up and freeze some hamburg chowder. And have some on hand to use for shepherd's pie.

Re: Toot your horn Thursday
I've finally done enough to Toot a bit.
Baked 2 pans of cookies and put the rest of the dough in the freezer and 1/2 in the fridge. That way if I eat one of a small batch it shows. In a big batch it wouldn't make a dent.
Cleaned and re-arranged bookcase in den. Still have to dust. But it looks a lot better. I need to find a couple boxes to store things away - but that will come.
Got part of the files archived - more to go.
Biggest problem I have is when I get down on the floor to sort - I can't get back up. DH has to lift me and that can't be good for his back. I will talk to PT gal tomorrow. Maybe she can teach me how to get up. The knees hurt too much and have no strength.

TOOT-TOOT: I posted a message to my colleague, like I should have 5 days ago! Done!
Time to get some "things" done. Slow go go today, as I got sidetracked by the computer- again!
Have a wonderful afternoon, Everybody!

Re: Toot your horn Thursday
great afternoon to all.
dh is at the hospital with d mil who fell and he found her. She's such a lovely woman. She said she pressed the alert system on her neck but she must have been too weak to actually push it.
I went to the store and now I am washing the dining room floor by hand.
dd older has been making comments (not to be mean) about how I have been cleaning because she feels I am not focusing on the right things (even though it's the same as she does) She saw me painting for weeks and thinks I am still doing it. She thinks she is helping by offering advice... plus her young athletic body can move faster than I can now lol... So letting that voice out of my head. And considering I am doing it by myself I think it looks nice and almost empty of clutter. closets are stream lined after all that work over the last 5 months so I feel like I have a lot to be proud of.
