All ready. The kids are here, chores assigned, dd posted a picture of the presents on Facebook so I am checking the responses.

I got 2 story acceptances, will fill out and send the contracts off today, for my to do/ta dah. I don't have any work to do, except perhaps do white LOL, if I want to. I'm going to enjoy my day, as I've been so very, very busy for 3 days, with my quilting scraps, remnants, printed panels project. I deserve a break.

I'm still around -just haven't been here. Had a 'relapse' I guess and not feeling very well this week. Doing better today but trying to rest as much as I can.

Dh and I went to a town nearby earlier this morning -I went to the post office with a few last minute cards and he went for a haircut. Then we went to wal mart I had to as I had ordered diabetic test strips online (when neither store I went to supposedly had them). They were ready last evening so we picked them up after our earlier run. Dh got milk and water. MISTAKE! Took him a long time in line. We could have waited on the water and the milk could have been purchased elsewhere. But I had to get the strips -especially since it took me 3 before I got a reading this morning -leaving me with just 1. I've been trying to pick some up for days. Ended up ordering 2 pkgs of 100 last night so should be good for a long time.

Hoping I feel chipper by tomorrow night and Christmas. Good wishes to all of you who still have shopping/wrapping to do. Think my wrapping is done. Just have to order a couple of books for dh for his K indle tonight or tomorrow. Then I will be done. There is one gift for dd which I ordered from A mazon yesterday and should be here tomorrow. Boggles my mind how they manage to ship so quickly and get it 'there'.

Have to order a new license plate for our car next month. We decided a long time ago we wanted a 'white' plate for our car. NY has (IMHO) a hideous orange plate so we elected to keep our old one. But it IS getting old and we finally opted for a 'vanity' plate. Had to get a letter from our fire chief as we're getting a Volunteer firefighter's plate which is white background. I'm sure dh will really like this.

Hope everyone is moving through their holidays well. My very best to each of you. Hoping to feel 'up' to getting on here more in the coming days.

I have 16 rows left to finish on a dish cloth glad for progress on that. Processed mail.

We are supposed to have 20* for a low temp. On Monday here not looking forward to that.

I'm back and the deployment finally happened! Reports are complete and accessible to the client ON TIME! Now, it is on to other things!

CathyS: I have a theory about why there are not many female auto mechanics or physicists based on my experiences in high school. No one discouraged me from technical or mechanical fields. Quite the contrary. Girls with talents in mechanical or technical areas were being steered into engineering. I suspect that may still be the case.

Well, no more Mercury Sables. We had such a bad time with that transmission, and after fixing it numerous times we took it completely out and had a brand new one installed. Then we sold it while it was new and working. It was spacious inside.

I've been getting nothing done around here. I had to stop and help DH get organized and out the door, and then take him and temporary helper to the jobsite. The one 20 miles away. I hit 2 banks on the way back. Monday I had gassed up the car, figured it would be ready for our trip, but with all this running around I've used up half a tank.

Back and forth with DD - we got our Website up and running. I'm sure a professional website-maker would find fault with it, but it is neat and simple and easy to navigate and represents our work. I am tickled about it.

Need to get going, have 1 phone call to return, and the house to pick up and pies to make and the car to clean.

(Dee) I hope you feel better for the holiday.

Just got in from full round of running: cleaners, post office, temple, dr office for ck up, body work, then JCC for meals for dmom and then vet and grocery (sour cream and applesauce for latkes, which I forgot yesterday.) I also need to send out a search party for M's gift here at home. Tomorrow I'll have to get to the other two items.

Ck up was good - she has provisionally taken me off of BP meds. I ran out a couple of weeks ago and my BP was never super high, so I went w/o meds. Today in office it was 124/80. We'll re-ck in a couple of months. Also she is ordering up occupational therapy for my left pinky finger that is still sore from the fall. It won't bend in to the palm, and won't straighten. As a benefit, she also ordered OT for the arthritis in my left thumb which was mentioned when the left hand was X-rayed when I fell.

Was able to go p/u meals for dmom instead of having to go by noon tomorrow, also.

I am taking a break, perhaps until 5 then I need to clean up the electric fry pans. I also just took out chicken for dinner, hoping it thaws in time!

Down time next.
