Oh, Lucylee, I totally agree about the roads. The roads from here to DD1's house are awful awful awful. Just clogged with traffic and everybody going fast and much too close. We have decided we don't want to be on I4 any longer than we absolutely have to, so we are going the back way now. Coming home DD gave us directions (poor) for the toll road which cuts off most of I4 but we didn't understand what to do and ended up in downtown Orlando anyway. Traffic past Disney is beyond horrific. If she didn't live where she does, I know we'd see her more often. Is I10 always that bad?

I've been working on this one file all day and finally got it completed. Now to fill out the 1099's and this chore will be done.

Stopped to give DH a haircut. I've been trying to keep my distance from him and his coughing, but he was beginning to look like a wooly bear and wanted it done. Got dinner done too. Now I'm back to my project.

lucylee ...there are bowl games all over FL right now. Plus the long holiday weekend is over and everyone is heading home. I-75 is always a challenge no matter what part you're on. Just drive safe and take your time...you'll get home before the spring thaw...

Oops, don't you have a basketball game in your college town? More traffic seems to be in your future LOL

BTW...the bad news is both Alabama's lost...the good new is..FINALLY TN won a bowl game...seems things are looking up in my world LOL

Answers to questions

Dsis's husband was killed in a fall on the ice Dec 2013. She only has a son and DIL living in her town. Daughter is in NC. She lives in a retirement home but not in the assisted living part. She is so stubborn she will not ask the nurse on duty to assist with her meds. She still insists on driving except she gets lost in the town she has lived in all her life. One of the meds forgotten was her blood thinners - she couldn't remember (or probably didn't know) what the other drugs were for. When I ask what drugs she takes - she snaps back, "The ones my Dr. tells me to take. I don't question him."

Dakota is much happier this afternoon and has taken long naps. Her itch is much better since she got a shot from the vet.

I have rested most of the day. One lol washed, dried and put away. One load of dishes hand washed. One book finished. One nap taken.

DD#2 and her DH gave us a beautiful set of wind chimes so I have been in my LazyBoy listening to them and napping this afternoon. The clapper is engraved with our wedding date and a beautiful poem.

Time to find something for dinner. TTFN

Lucylee, I75 can be a bear too. It didn't use to bother me at least up to Tampa but that seems to be getting worse also. Word of warning: Don't attempt it April 1st. That's when all the snowbirds head back north and can be stop and go. Awful.

You should see the roads if they're evacuating for a hurricane!

Anyway... I kept at it and got that file finished. Lots of filing to do, it's all stacked up. But I shredded all the extras and half-filled forms with sensitive information. Copied everything for CPA and audit people. Whew!

I don't think I'll relax until all this is done.

MT, that's sad about your DSis. I hope her kids keep tabs on her.

Agree about I-4 and I-75!! We did find an easier way to Disney, Harmony. We take I-4 not too far past Haines City to 429 (which is a toll road) and take that to the Disney exit. Barely any traffic so we miss all that going toward Orlando and off the Disney exit. Don't envy you that trip, LucyLee. I usually take 301 north out of FL and then up 95 to go home. But we won't be leaving until about May 1st or so and traffic is much better. Dh will be leaving around April 1st. Hmmm....maybe I can play that card of everyone heading north then. Maybe he can wait a few days. Or go a little earlier.

Harmony & RR - Thank you for the tile/grout cleaning ideas. I did google the hurricane mop and ordered one. At least I think it is the same mop. It sorta looks like it and was thebest selling mop on Amazon in both the commercial & home categories. Also ordered some fabulous cleaner from Amazon. It was same price as WM so I went for the easy home delivery

Early this morning I moved two 7' bookcases out of the bonus room and put them with 3 similar bookcases that have no purpose. I am pondering what to do with these 5 bookcases. Currently they are located next to the freezer and extra refrigerator. It seems to be a perfect place to easily unload food from vehicle and store it either in freezer, refrigerator or on the 20 bookcase shelves available. Pondering the pro/cons….

YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! The replacement of MPB 2" high pressure water lines is deemed a success!! There is still more to do, but the hardest part is installed and tested. This is a huge R-E-L-I-E-F!!!!! MPB will remain closed for a few days because of the weather (below freezing) which will hopefully allow DH to slow down a little.

Our temporary fix to the Birthday House heater drain is working. It looks like it will be awhile before we have a day above freezing so we can't be sure the problem isn't a frozen drain. Hopefully our temporary fix will hold on until the weather warms up.

LO anxiety is off the chart which makes him super clingy and will not let me out of his sight. REALLY. Like a 2 year old. He follows me from room to room. When I go to the bathroom he sits outside the door. ***sigh****

Been on the phone with DBro planning birthday party for DMom. We have decided on Mexican food but are unsure about the day or time. It will either be Sunday afternoon or Tuesday evening. We are watching the weather (ice) and also trying for the best time to fit the schedule of family members. It's impossible to pick a time that everyone can make it, but hopefully about 35 will be here. The Birthday House is getting broke in. We have been here a month and this will be our third time to host a large group.

Guess I better jump in here. Yesterday I felt cruddy and had a meltdown. I was the only attending and I am just sick of being sick. Dh felt awful. This morning he went to work feeling terrrible. They had a buffet lunch for him and a cake. He felt too awful to eat or enjoy the gathering. The plant manager sent him home early. I talked dh into going to the walk-in clinic and they weren't open. Last week they announced in the paper that they would be closed, but not this week. When he went to bed tonight, he said if he isn't better tomorrow, he's going to the ER. His left ear has started bothering him.

Today I was less than 100% but I decided to shower, etc. I went to dd2s for a little while. I hadn't seen the little girls in 8 days. I also wanted to get my Tupperware gathered up and bring it home.

Dh's house slippers that I bought for last Christmas, decided to just totally fall apart yesterday. After supper, I went to D ick's Sporting Goods. I had seen some lined men's clog Crocs, before Christmas. They had them and they were buy one, get 1/2 off the second, so I bought me a pair too. Dh's are camo and he really likes them because they allow him to wear socks and they are still roomy.

After I brought those home, I made a list and went to the grocery store. We have a possibility of 6" of snow, starting tomorrow. As much as I hate grocery shopping, I must say that Tuesday night and tonight, I enjoyed being back among the living.

At 3:35 dh received an email that formally announced his retirement. It was from the plant manager and he had waited until dh's 8 hours would have been up, even though he let him leave early. Dh was really disappointed that he felt sick the entire 4 work days this week. It was not how he imagined his last week of work to be.

Dd2 was telling me about an exchange that she had recently had with dgd3. Dgd3 told her mom that she was a pie. Dd2 said she kept asking her what kind of pie and she said that she had even resorted to asking if she was a Sour Cream Raisin pie or Strawberry Rhubarb pie, when she ran out of pies. Dgd3 kept getting frustrated with dd2 because she kept naming pies. Finally dgd3 said "look mom, I pie (spy) on people." I would have loved to witness that exchange.

They are getting along fine with their new puppy. I can't believe how much he grew in the 8 days since I last seen him. The breeder's had told her he would potty train in 3-5 days. We were all skeptical but he did. She has a long bell that hangs on the handle to the sliding door. When he needs to potty, he rings the bell. If he needs to hurry, he adds a whine. One day she had let him out and as they went back in, just as she started to shut the door, he looked at her and went back out to do his serious business. She said he loves to chew on dirty clothes, so they have to keep everything picked up. Also, he would chew on a toy of someone's if he got the chance. I had to laugh to myself because it sounds like he has trained them, too. Dd2 says that the puppy won't nap in the same spot and is always looking for a new quiet spot. He slept the whole time I was there.

Well I better head to bed. I have a feeling that we will be going to the ER, at some point tomorrow.
