Elizabeth))) I don't even understand half of what you are having to deal with, but it sounds frustrating and annoying.
Speaking of not understanding things, we went to see
Blackhat last night -- the movie about the computer hacker -- and we were both pretty much completely lost the whole time. BUT -- part of that is b/c (on my part) I had a headache and was freezing to death and falling asleep. Another part of the problem is that that movie is filmed in about fifty shades of grey -- to borrow from an upcoming release. I mean, 90% of it is just DARK and gloomy looking, so much so that sometimes -- lots of times -- you can't even see the actors' faces clearly at all. I could not keep any of the characters straight except for about the main 4, and it was just tiresome to me.
I have made progress -- about 30 min in the bedroom -- but I was beginning to feel a lazy streak coming so I thought I better take a break, drink some water, recharge.
Also ate a coconut popsicle. Lately I just want to eat All The Time!!!
blessed, it sounds like you and your dbro got a lot accomplished with your talk and have good plans in the making for your duncle's care. WTG!
Oh,
LadyM... I know about that talking w/the dgd3 pulling your face... LOL...
But you were talking about her watching tv. Oh my goodness... I will be sooo glad when * IF * dgs ever learns to settle down and watch a program, or sit quietly in his seat while his daddy and mommy are singing at the nursing home, or color quietly in church.... Oh. My. Goodness. Right now this child cannot be still for more than 1 minute. I am serious. Last night at the nursing home, he was actually satisfied in his stroller for maybe 20 minutes or so -- but different people were talking to him, he was eating Fruit Loops and a fruit squeeze pouch and drinking juice... and after every song, he'd say "Get down now..." and I would say, "Not yet... be good and I'll let you down in a little bit." After about 20 minutes, I walked him around the halls of the nursing home, w/him in his stroller... and then we went back in the room where they were singing... and * whew * -- it was on. He wanted to sing with them -- and they let him do the ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star... and he ran back and forth across the room... and we walked the halls some more... and he would crawl up in a chair and say "sit here." And almost as soon as the words were out of his mouth, he was out of the chair.

And of course, the nursing home residents LOVE all of this. This part of the show brings as many smiles as the music itself, LOL.
(((HUGS))) for the plumbing woes, too. I don't know when they are EVER going to get started again on potty training w/dgs. * shaking my head *
(((HUGS))) for the CAR woes, as well! That IS a big problem. We had that happen once, but we were able to use dmil's van. If it happened now, I don't know what we'd do. (Borrow dmom's Corvette, maybe, LOL!

)
Oh... ds has been very critical of dmom and me lately. (He laughed about it, just teasing me, but I hope no one else has been offended by my behavior.) He said dmom & I whispered too much during the funeral.

I did NOT think we did. Beforehand, maybe, when music was quietly playing... but during? I don't think so. The preacher was talking at one time about how he was surprised at her middle name -- he had never known what it was, and it's a little unusual (not really so much though) -- and dmom whispered to me, "I had forgotten that." I just nodded. Another time the preacher was talking about her sewing skills and dmom whispered, "She made her own wedding dress," and I just nodded again. I don't think we behaved embarrassingly.
Then today, as we were leaving the (same) church, we spoke to one of dmom's best friends from old church... said good-bye... walked about 10-20 feet... met up w/one of dmom's friends from new church. She was saying how happy they were to have dmom now & I nodded towards old church friend and whispered, "Don't say that too loudly -- I don't think she has told ___ & ___ yet." But I went on to say dmom HAD talked w/her choir director and pastor at old church, etc... etc... talking too much as IS my tendency... and ds said, after we went on our way, "You don't have to make apologies to the NEW church people for Granny going out there..."
* sheesh * But I'm sure dmom has more than explained/apologized herself to everyone about what a tough decision this is for her. I did not just fall out of the sky with this runaway mouth of mine. I definitely inherited it from BOTH parents.
ON THAT SUBJECT... oh. my. goodness. again. Dmom wants to get on Facebook. DS said there is NO TELLING what she will put on there if that happens. My fear too.

Dee -- I have been meaning to post to you how sorry I was to hear about dgd's latest situation. Amazed at the new guardians and their determination to see this through. This is just a sad, sad situation -- probably completely due to the biological mother's decision to take drugs. People just have no idea how their actions can have such far-reaching consequences... and now this one woman's poor choices have put dgd and at two families in complete chaos... and I'm sure the other sister and her family have had some obstacles to face as well.
Hope your dsonil gets the job he's hoping for.

WHERE DOES THE TIME GO??? HOW DO ALL OF YOU MANAGE TO CUOP SO QUICKLY AND RETURN TO YOUR PRODUCTIVE LIVES???
Here I've sat approx. 45 minutes, composing this post...
Just like my run-on conversations at the funeral visitation... * shaking my head *
Oh -- I forgot -- I did take time to read church newsletter, copy and paste pastor's extremely good-for-me article... etc... but still... I definitely need a better BGS.
Back to work!
