I got through another module of the online course. Only one to go but it looks like a doozy. I think I've mentioned that I've felt paralyzed at time about adding sources to my genealogy database. It's so hard and so many rules! My software has a Source template but I just end up more confused with it at times, to the point that I don't add to my database because I can't figure out the sourcing. Thus this online course from NGS. After I finished the quiz successfully, I took a couple of facts and recorded in database, feeling my way along.

Also continued photographing and entering stamp sets in Evernote....more in Crafts etc.

I just walked dMacs - I was giving Moses a chance to eat his supper w/o interference. While walking tho, a cold rain and wind started up and poor Moses may not get his walk now. Poor guy.

I need to do some planning for tomorrow. Main tasks are PT, a vet appt for Moses to get stitches out, planning for trip on Tuesday, and laundry so I can leave town on Thursday.

Sunny, thank you for your confidence, and I would like that a LOT, but today i was just passing out the books. This Bible study is for the women's circle, not Sunday mornings. They would like me to speak during my part of the program for 45 minutes. I will do my best to steer toward discussion rather than lecture. I don't think they've really thought through what it would feel like to listen to one person in the group talk for 45. Either that or they have been used to long lectures from previous study. That is just not the sort of thing that makes folks look forward to coming back next time.

Desk Day for me tomorrow. Decluttering and cleaning starting up for another week.

Slow day here.

Got off to church on time. Had to run by the second church to drop off stuff but ended up being there longer than I intended since I had some hugging to do.

Then off to our church where, although 16 minutes until service, we were the second to arrive.

I started to set up for the potluck and dh went upstairs and opened the door and put up the hymn numbers. The minister was late coming over (due to the event at the other church that I had to drop things for) and so church started late. We are certainly a relaxed church when it comes to starting time!

Potluck after and then off to the general store to pick up the mail. Visited with the post mistress for at least 30 minutes (not all good, she has a new spot on her liver and it has not responded to the chemo she gets for her main liver cancer tumour.)

From there it was to my senior friend's home and an hour long visit with her. Then we drove home, gassing up the car on the way (it dings when it gets too low and it dinged at us today just as we got off the highway. I remembered to use the $5 gas card we got for buying cereal on our summer holiday so that has been used (it expires next month!)

Once home I took a short break to email with a friend of dd's who I don't know but who would like to come stay with us (along with her cousin and a friend that does know us and who I am extremely fond of.) I've checked to see if the guest suite is available for them. Dd offered them her place and then found out they are coming the weekend she and dsil are away.

Then it was time to cook dinner for tonight (dh had wanted to go out but I wanted to eat at home) and help him make Tuesday and Wednesday dinner of Shepherd Pie and leftovers. I did up all the dishes until we served dinner and he did up the ones after.

Suddenly I became less productive and just wasted 30 minutes sitting, doing not much.

Tomorrow is too busy.

Concert in the morning (actually it is a conductor workshop but I'm there to hear the orchestra play.) We'll have to pick up groceries on the way home.

Mid afternoon my minister friend is coming and we'll watch The Interview and then have dinner.

In the evening I have my class (and will either leave the guys to talk and clean up or will get my friend to drive me to class.)

In the meantime, there's some tidying to do around here and I'd like to bake a corn bread to go with dinner tomorrow night (ribs & rice.) And maybe an apple crisp for dh for dessert. We'll see what I have time for. He's watching a movie right now.

Harriet: I can't imagine talking knowledgeably about anything for 45 minutes. Your idea of creating a discussion is a good one.

Got the last load of laundry in the dryer now. Made up a stuff bag to put wool into to finish drying I can hang it up on the indoor clothes line.

Hi everyone! Well, my day was certainly singular! I spent 7 hours with DD12's church youth group! They needed another driver and I have a station wagon with a third seat. Two vans and my car went to Feed the Need, where several churches throughout the city bring in youth from even more churches and feed homeless and other people in need. It is an outdoor event, but the guests get to sit at tables and have people wait on them. There is even a band. After that, our group went to a Route 66 style diner for dinner.

Other things I have done this weekend: finally got the suitcase unpacked and put away, most of LOLs folded and put away, emails checked and answered, IRA task done, online order completed. Still need to do catboxes and get my lunch and breakfast for tomorrow, and lay out clothes for tomorrow. I get a slightly longer time in bed because there is an IEP meeting at DD's school. The state allows time off for parent teacher meetings. It is two hours a semester, but that is far better than anywhere else I have ever worked.

Harmony: In answer to your question on Friday, yes, the sanctuary cat will remain with me. She will only be moved if she needs more monitoring than I can provide (like with someone who is retired and home more than me). The idea is that the cat is sort of adopted by the foster. I say 'sort of', because she will still be available for adoption if there are any takers, but the org is not expecting any. They remain in the org until they are no longer with us, usually from natural causes, but if there is untreatable pain, we do what needs to be done. Cleo, who is 15, is likely to be around several more years. She is already feeling better, I think, from the UTI treatment. She is in my lap purring right now.
