Re: Conga Friday the 13th
my dear goodness... look at all the posts.. wonderful!!!
d twins hope you didn't fall too hard.
I just saw dd younger for lunch .. they are walking without support 6 city blocks to the modern art museum (which she is definitely not a fan of lol) - last time I went there I got yelled at by a security guard because I saw an elevator next to me - and they had a huge wall to wall white shag rug on the floor with some furniture..I walked on the corner of the rug so I wouldn't dirty it going to the elevator - thinking the furniture was the art.. the rug turned out to be the art. oh well. Some things are really interesting and you can see the creativity and it can be thought provoking... others well... I think the artist is playing a game... "lets see who tells me i am wonderful like in the Emperor's new cloths.
It looks like they have a waiting list and dd will have to leave the program next week. She is not there yet but unfortunately they have a waiting list. I don't know what she will do. I have to find a PT and OT who specializes in this t. I will be setting up a meeting. They can give her 2 more weeks but because they have a waiting list many of those that are in pain are let go before they are ready. I read that people with CRPS get to a point and are let go of therapy and they suffer all their lives. Frustrating.
heading out soon to the doctors office and asking and expecting a meeting... in a kind but firm way of course.

Re: Conga Friday the 13th
Now I'm cold.
Was out for 90 minutes hiking with ds and dh. Wasn't cold then except the last few minutes waiting for the light to change at the bridge. My hands got cold and never warmed up again. The backs of my legs were cool while I was out but now that I'm seated in the recliner, they are cold.
Dh and ds are still out hiking. They have to really push themselves so will probably be out closer to 2.5 hours.
Got home and there were two pieces of reading from my minister friend. So I enjoyed those while having a snack (I was starving after the hike.)
The island in the river is the perfect place to snow shoe so now we have a place to go. Unfortunately, we didn't have our snow shoes with us today so were walking through snow up to our knees. I've got my legs elevated to rest my knees a bit but expect to be sore on Sunday.
Gotta get something done now. My to-do list is getting long. Will work on the sermon because I'm slightly inspired.

Re: Conga Friday the 13th
Hi everyone! I am still having trouble getting hold of the person I need to at payroll. The good news is that I did get hold of the mayor's office. THEY are going to handle the press release, not ME. YEAH! Once again, I am aggravated with the X. Last night, when I returned DD, he 'reminded' me that he had DD on Sunday. He does this when he forgets to arrange it. At first, I assumed that he had told me and I forgot. Now, I realize he is counting on my not trusting my memory. He is SUCH a turkey. Here is my list from yesterday:
Child support paperwork (date changes only and print)
Home email check including: changes to will from bank trustee -> lawyer and getting mailing lists and receipt copies from the animal org office manager - DONE!
Call friend to return key (probably on Monday)
Sew buttons on charity baby item (due soon)
Finish kitten scrapbook for the animal org meeting (coming soon)
Letter to donor from animal org board
Attach lockbox with spare key to car
Other stuff that needs to be dealt with soon:
Two letters
Check an account
Spreadsheet fixes - DONE!
Will additions - DONE!
Kitten pictures to animal org web person
Email animal org fosters about videoing pets, especially cats
Guess I know what needs to be done tonight. Other plans for the evening: dinner with friend, get two porcelain baby dragons for DD (birthday and valentines), return library book. Then home to the list.

Re: Conga Friday the 13th
I got through that list and also went to large department store B elk and picked up something for dh for Valentine's day, and stopped at a bakery for a dozen chocolate dipped strawberries. Trying to be sensitive to his weight loss.
Supper tonight will be fish from freezer (Costco, already seasoned) baked sweet potatoes and spinach. Power foods, lol.

Re: Conga Friday the 13th
So, tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I have my card bought. DH came home from church with 2 dinner tickets (fund raiser the youth is putting together the dinner and serving). I told him I wasn't going if he was going to be stuck back in the kitchen or someplace and I would have to sit by myself. He assured me that there was plenty of help, and he did his bit for 3 Sundays selling tickets. It's supposed to be nice; we'll see. Dinner is Sunday eve. but I bought 2 very thin steaks for him to grill Sat. night. They're so thin they'll probably take 2 minutes to cook!
I told DH about the right-of-way grandfather and he asked an obvious question I didn't think of: was he buried in a casket there, or was it an urn, or just a pile of ashes? Never thought of that...however, the way the guy said it, was like MY GRANDFATHER, like it was just him laying there...
And I never considered that it could be our problem someday. Yikes! This week he worked on a right of way site, grading and putting in a swale pipe for under a new driveway he's pouring; and this place is way out in the country... now I'm thinking, doesn't everybody have a dog or cat or bird buried on their property somewhere?
Better not to think about all that.
I got some mopping done. Soaked, pre-spotted, washed sheets and mattress pad and remade bed. I asked DH how he gets so much blood on everything...is something going on I don't know about? He just laughed and said he has no idea, he just finds it when he wakes up. I suspect it's shaving mishaps and cuts etc. from the job that open up. I tell ya, he pays attention to nothing - nothing!
Blessed, I would be raising holy **** about DD. I'm assuming this is all going through an insurance company and if it is, could you complain to them about unfinished treatment and the consequences of them having to pay for further treatment and medicines down the road?
My house is not picture ready. By a long shot. But I noticed as I cleaned up a couple projects and got them ready to go, some of the mess disappeared. Old forms got filed, the light box got put away... so my mess is only contained when the job stuff is not a state of half-done. Sigh.
And I've been in small houses, and this large one, they all get messy. I can't say one is worse than another. Today I put back up in the garage storage 2 big bins that have been sitting in an out-of-the-way corner since Christmas. 2 empty bins. And because that space is large, they were not in the way, no urgency to move them; so here's an example of a large space gathering clutter a smaller space wouldn't. It seems I just can't win!

Re: Conga Friday the 13th
My hours are a blur today. I am determined to make HUGE progress on moving since WE FINALLY GOT OUR VEHICLES OUT OF THE SHOP!! We are having beautiful weather (70-80's) today & tomorrow so it is ideal moving weather. On Sunday the winter weather returns and we won't be above freezing for 3 days. I am pleased with the progress made today I used the pickup with trailer to load/haul/unload things. The trailer sits lower than our vehicles so it is easier to not have to lift things as high. I was able to completely move everything from the attic, about 80% of the items from the little house and about 80% of the garden items. This took me 3 loads and about 8 hours to accomplish. It is slow process doing loading/unloading everything by myself while also watching DGD3 and LO .
I hope I can make equally good progress moving tomorrow.
LucyLee - I hope your DS/DDIL have a wonderful fresh start when they move. We also moved from a very small home to over double the size house. I have been very viligant in establishing routines for cleaning this home. It was MUCH easier to keep the small home picked up and clean. It takes me 2-3 times as long to clean the bigger house.
I told DH I need my head examed. Yesterday, I told the contractor to put us on his schedule to add another bathroom to this house. I am currently struggling to establish a good cleaning schedule for 3 bathrooms.....and now I will have a 4th one to clean. Long story why I'm having another bathroom added. It is NOT because I want something else to clean!
I am tired. I have over 18,000 steps today which was mostly done while carrying items. DGD3 is being......a .....three..... year.... old ....who didn't get a good nap. I am looking forward to the kids bedtime for sure!

Re: Conga Friday the 13th
There was a delivery of flowers on the front porch when dd and I got home from errands. Frankly, I was thinking it could be for either of us this year. But it was from HRH to me, and he had gotten half roses, half tulips because last time he bought flowers he was so disappointed in wilting roses and thought they weren't worth it. He said this time if they wilt, the tulips will still look nice.
IMO, it's best if there aren't flowers for dd, because the expense the young man is going to is already high for such a youthful date. He is taking her to the matinee of a musical at an upscale theater tomorrow. Both Feb 14 times are sold out, which is not much of a surprise. (He bought tickets back at first of year.) Then out to eat. The play is long, and then lines at restaurants will be long. So this time they may be out later than we really allow. Hard to fuss, though. His parents asked for a photograph, so I'll embarrass them here long enough to get one.
Twins' Mom, I hope you aren't bruised? The strawberries sound like a loving decision!
blessed, I wonder if dd could figure out what her therapy should be, if she could learn online any methods, if perhaps there are books or papers that have been published on bright courses of treatment/therapy that she could study, and become her own therapist in the future.

Re: Conga Friday the 13th
Dh and ds had to buy their airline tickets for Kilimanjaro today so that has been done. But it took a long time and so there wasn't really time for dinner. Ds wasn't coming to the movie with us so he headed his way and we drove to the theater downtown and parked at the grocery store. Picked up something to eat from their ready to eat department and then topped that off with popcorn at the theater.
It was the Cannes International Advertising awards and there were many good commercials. I'd seen several of them already. A few made me cry. A few I didn't see the point of.
We came home right after and watched the end of last night's episode of Lilihammer. Now we are off to bed. I was just checking email while icing my knees for a bit longer. At least I'm warm enough now to use the ice on the knees! (The theater was really warm and I still had double layer on the legs and triple on the body although I took off my Norwegian sweater.
