I'm also confused about Moses too, but did google and found that melanoma can be benign in dogs. I am going to take him in at 3 p.m. to get dressing changed on his foot (it is damp because he's scuttled away from me and gone outside without me covering it.) I'll get the low down then, but I think this is good news so far. I took both dogs for a walk and have tried to work on the temple/religious school stuff but just can't seem to get focused.

Dh came by and we decided he would just come on home this evening instead of me meeting him out for dinner. It's rainy and nasty and I'd rather be home anyway.

Gotta go.

Editing to add....

Vet verified with pathologist that there is almost no chance that this tumor is anything but benign. Vet is still concerned about Moses shoulder pain where he took the bone biopsy. For whatever reason they weren't able to process the bone biopsy to make a determination. At this point we'll follow with an X ray on Moses shoulder in two weeks to see if there are any changes that might indicate bone cancer. Moe is feeling pretty good, I think, and walking better than expected according to the vet. They left the dressing off on the condition that I keep the "cone of shame" on him until stitches come out. We're supposed to try to rinse dirt off a couple of times a day, however, with a garden hose.

I realized that I have Goodwill stuff and shred boxes in my car and am traveling tomorrow. I'm going to run a quick round of errands to drop those off now.

Home from work. I got the weekly menu plan made up and went to the groc. store this morning. I did not drop off the volunteer tutoring books I still have; I can take them to a branch of neighboring town's library. It's a bit of a drive, but I can do it.

I've had a snack, checked the weather.

Next, I'm going to
- write a check for dd16's oboe teacher
- change my clothes
- gather my things
- go for a jog. :)

I'll need to call dfriend D to see if she still wants to get together for coffee tomorrow morning. . .. Will also confirm meeting with my mentee tomorrow afternoon.

The airplane ride sounded fabulous, Kathryn! Safe journeys the rest of the way.
Gentle pats for Moses and ((HUGS)) for Twins.

Schedule change ramblings: We've switched Thursday dinners (open to friends, down to just 4 right now: S, R, and baby J. And another friend A.) to Wednesdays now, starting tomorrow. This was partially in response to my generally feeling so sapped by Thursday night after spending all morning setting up for, cleaning up after, and sometimes teaching and shepherding the church moms in the moms group - and then also teaching payroll in the afternoon. It's selfish to say, but sometimes by Thursday evening, I'm wanting someone to take care of me rather than having another group of people to take care of. Dh loves having people over and still, after almost 25 years of marriage, doesn't quite understand what it's like to be an introvert. But he understands more than before, does the bulk of the cooking for this event, and we thought moving the day would be helpful. Except, tomorrow my work is sandwiched in between 2 potentially intense conversations with 2 different women who are struggling (in different ways) at some level. I may have completely poured myself out by tomorrow evening. Fortunately, S, R, and A are good friends, especially S and R, whom we pretty much treat like family. But still, I may not have much to give by Thursday morning.

Off to change my clothes!

I'm in a royal tizzy. While I was running errands, dh received a phone call about the biopsy. They said they tried to call last week. On Thurs. and Fri., while the carpet was being laid in the basement, once our computers were shut down and unhooked, so was our phone line. I tried to get him to call Fri. afternoon and he wouldn't. He said they have my cell number. We neither one thought about the fact that his number had changed.

The biopsy showed he has a nodule. They found no cancer cells but this can turn into cancer later. The ENT thinks it needs to come out and wants us to get a second opinion. I left home to run errands and buy a few groceries, when I walked in the door the phone rang and it was KU Medical Center. They asked for dh. I told her I could give her his cell number or I could take a phone to him. She said she could wait. I handed him the phone, walked in the house and KNEW without a doubt that our lives will be changing, at least temporarily. With his 2 sisters history of 2 bouts of cancer, we have no time to waste. We will leave tomorrow and his appointment is at 11 am on Thursday. She told him that they would get him in and out so he could get on the road home. I hope there is someway he can have the surgery in Wichita opposed to Kansas City. Time will tell.

I was suppose to watch the 2 dgds Thursday evening. Dd2 is leaving after school that day and driving to Denver. Her best friend since they were in 5th grade is flying from Houston and they are going to ski Friday and Saturday and will head home on Sunday. I am also suppose to watch them on Saturday while dgd18 works. Dd2 came up with this plan, dgd18 offered to watch the girls with help from me, because she thinks her mom deserves this getaway.Everything was fine and dandy until this came up. We should be back Thursday night or mid day Friday at the latest, depending on how long it takes. We aren't ones to drive after dark, if we can avoid it.

Anyway, as per usual, I just fall apart when things like this happen. Then I pull up my big girl panties and do what has to be done.

I have lots of laundry, so I am working on that. The house still looks like a bomb went off from the carpet laying. If I had not of babysit Saturday, been dragging on Sunday and been lazy on my birthday, I should have been done. When I leave home, I leave a clean house, the bills paid and laundry caught up. It won't happen this time and it is driving me crazy. But it can't be helped.

Happy birthday, Lord M!

Sorta lazy here. Went w/ds, dh, dgs to nursing home singing, and since we got home I've just napped and surfed the net.

(Lilac) sending you strength and patience and courage for the days ahead. Know it is hard to go through these things.

2nd trip to the pharmacy this afternoon. I waited till 5 for them to call but they never did. Customer service in this place is not nearly as good as the old place. Changed because it is cheaper. A lot of the savings I was counting on was eaten up by the increase in dosage. Sometimes ya just can't win.

Anyway, took DH to last jobsite where he still had big truck. Neighbor was sunbathing in the driveway. Laying on a lounge chair, on her belly (thank goodness) in a bikini - topless! When I saw this just as DH was getting out of my car, I said to him, shade your eyes. He'd already seen it. Yeah, he said, don't need to get in trouble over this.

Been organizing in the living room. Spaces that have been on my mind for a long while now. I have a closet next to my desk in the corner. I organized all those shelves. Some hold old paperwork, pictures, stuff we got when DH's mother died. Bottom shelf has old photo albums of ours, my briefcase etc. Middle 2 shelves have my quilting stuff, a couple bins and a magazine holder. Left room for a storage box with an a-z accordion file I use pretty often. With the file in the storage box I'm able to slide it out and use it easily.

That cleared a 2-shelf bookcase on the other side of my desk. And the end table/magazine holder next to the couch. I got rid of a whole stack of old insurance books and old magazines. I found a stash and dash from Christmas 2012 in the mag. holder, when I was rushing due to doing all those quilts and wrapping everything to go on our Christmas trip that year. Can you tell I don't get into that holder very often?! I found a little stash in the closet from a few weekends ago too. A T-shirt and some other laundry. I hardly ever do stashes like this, so they caught me by surprise.

Have to go copy a few things for DH for tomorrow, then I'm going to curl up with my library book.
