- gathered laundry and started a load; why does dd16 only have 4 pieces of clothing in her dirty clothes hamper when laundry hasn't been done for 7 days??

What is it with teen girls and shoes, anyway. No weather comprehension,

Ah, I recognize that teen girl syndrome, Harriet, though not in the form of footwear. No one here is wearing flip flops - yet. Here, it manifests itself in the form of walking out of the house in sub-freezing temps without a coat. Some kids even wear shorts once the temps reach the 20s - but not dd16.

Wanted to say Hello. I haven't spent much time on the computer the last few days. We've had rain since 4 or 5 am this morning, sometimes heavy rain, sometimes a very light drizzle. No thunder so far.

Thursday afternoon ds#1 and family visited; we had breakfast for supper: pancakes, waffles, bacon, ham, applesauce. The dgkids loved it!

Saturday afternoon I had a lovely phone conversation with dsis. I'm so glad she called me, it has been a long time and we had lots of family happenings to catch up on. I think we talked at least 4 hours; dh asked what we could possible have to talk about that long!

Sunday ds#2 and family came for supper, except for dgd20 who had to work at her hospital's e.r.

Harriet, the other day last week when I mentioned brushing the ddogs you asked if I brush them outside..... yes, I do brush outside. They shed constantly, but more so in the spring and fall. If it's too breezy we all are sneezing with the dander and fuzz blowing around us! So I wait for a calm day. Then, too, the birds have a nice selection of soft fiber with which to line their nests!

Today is Desk Day. Originally we were going to run errands, but I didn't feel like running between the raindrops so we will go out tomorrow instead. Wednesday will be a trip to IKEA with ds#1 and ddil. They will drop dgkids off at their schools then pick us up around 10 am., then we'll be on our way across they bay for a fun day. (Hey--there's a rhyme!!!) Thursday The Man from a/c company will be here to do our semi-annual spring check up on a/c unit. Dh also has an appointment with INR nurse. That takes me up to Friday --- will have to see what happens that day. That gives me only one more week to make sure things are in order for dfam#3's visit.

Thinking about Lilac and dfamily today.

Rained here this morning. Cats and dogs as the guide said (which is impressive since English is far from his first language.)

Things cleared up. And the day was a fabulous success.

Good afternoon everyone! No rain here in the desert, but it was cloudy this morning, though not now. I have contacted the friend about the cookies and am picking them up after work. I have called in my RSVP. The only thing left on my general list that I can do outside my house is call about the play. We are supposed to be cleaning up for an inspection at work - yep, we have all been told to 'clean up our rooms' and even been told when to do it (Friday). It has been quite a long time since I have been sent to my room to clean it up! We are supposed to not schedule any meetings during that time, but we have a standing, rather important one. They had asked for volunteers to clean up things in the common areas, and I had ignored the request. However, since I had a microwave explosion at lunch, I took on that clean up detail.

Still working the same payroll task. It is something I have never done and so I don't expect it to get done today (unless I am very lucky). Then I have 5 left for the week. However, I think two will not get done. It is hard to complete a task 'attend such-and-such meeting' if the meeting is never called. (I am not the one in charge of the meetings, so I am not supposed to call them). The other three are easy, but time consuming. They are also the lowest priority, but I am on track to get all done that are possible.

Sunny, we've had breakfast for supper before and enjoyed it, too. Mmmm... especially if we could have dmom's Christmas breakfast for supper...
LOL -- glad to know someone else can stay on the phone so long! Dmom and I have been cutting it a little shorter lately, but it is not unusual at all for us to be on the phone an hour at a time.

Crossing my fingers that ds will take on daily outdoor brushing of their ddog when they get into their new home.

Shorts at 20 degrees??? EEEEK!!! But, yes, I saw a man in shorts, in the snow, during our last winter episode. I'm sure kids here are wearing flip flops already, and probably some adults... and I've seen several in shorts by now... but we have already had one day that we hit 80 degrees. Today, looks like the high is around 70. Predicted to dip back down near freezing Saturday night.

But the pollen count is very high so won't spend to much time outside.

I feel your pain, (((Sadie))). After doubling up on my Z yrtec, (2 24-hour capsules each day) -- I am finally getting some relief, but don't want to jinx it with time outdoors.
I told ds & dh, those Bradford pear trees are just like Snow White's apple to me -- they are so beautiful, but they are just POISON for me.

Again, hello to EVERYONE... I'm just cuop in topic review right now.

I started the day with my morning stretches/exercise, s2s, s/s both baths, went to post office, and made it to my teachers' lunch on time.
Also -- huge accomplishment -- KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT re: topic of the day -- t a x increase. People who are for it make those of us who are against it feel like we must be total idiots. * sigh *

I've done the prep for the 5:15 meeting.

Moses and I have been to the vet and he definitely has bone cancer in the limping front leg. They did a chest X ray also; it appears the cancer has not yet spread to the chest. Average life expectancy if we do nothing but treat pain is 2 months. If we amputate the leg at the shoulder, the average is six months; if we both amputate and do chemo the average is 12 months. Our dear vet says if Moses were his dog (at age 13) he would treat the pain only.

I've left a phone message for dh to call me. He will want to call the vet also, I'm sure.

I have about an hour before I need to leave for the meeting. I'll need to pack my computer and take it.

I have finished shredding three kitchen trash bags full ack so glad to have that chore done now not sure if it will all fit in the garbage can this week !

Maybe I'll go shred a few pages myself, Nancy. We bought a new shredder a few weeks ago and I really like this one.

Hmmmm.....just remembered that I need to get out dh's new license plate application and see if he needs to sign it. If so I'll have him sign, then send it to NY shortly before I head up so we can switch out plates once I get up there. Don't want two plate numbers coming back to us.
