My Medicare starts the first of this April. I assume both you and your dh receive your health benefits from your state retirement. I do the same.

The best advice I an give you is to find a Medicare health broker...either by someone you know that can recommend the one they used or by the many that will start contacting your dh when the time comes.

There are many advantages in doing this... Not all supplimentry programs are the same. A broker can walk you through your options that best fit your DNS needs. It's important for your dh because the Alabama state retirement system offers supplimentry programs as well.

In my case I wanted to know if it was better to take my state retirement supplimentry or someone else. I used a broker that my friend recommended. It was a perfect choice for me because her mom, my age, was a retired sped teacher as well and my broker really knew her stuff.

The entire process...meet and greet and review programs took us abt three hours. In the end I went with AARP because my drs... Which I have been using for 15 years were NOT on the state plan. However I kept my dental with the state because it was cheaper.

My health insurance dropped from $775 a month to $177... And that includes my dental.

Using a health broker is free. They receive their money for their services from the health insurance companies. They DONT push a particular plan. Several of my friends have used brokers and have been very satisfied with the results.

Because of my health issues... Cluster headaches... It was very important to match my needs with the right program. I didn't want to sign up for something that didn't meet my needs because "I" didn't understand a loop hole and then have to wait a year until I could change and get it right.

Oooooh, I just blew everything else off and took Moses upstairs to snuggle and nap. I didn't need the nap but needed the snuggling.

I need to get back on track now. Dh has evening meetings so I have extra time.

I didn't even finish that last round....so here goes again:
-finish patio clean up from last sat night party
-move laundry over to dryer, fold two lols that are backed up
-empty dishwasher and clear kitchen counters
-start on temple work for meeting for tomorrow night, at least 15 minutes moving forward with it
-try to call dh to see if he's talked to vet, I wanted to talk to him before calling dkids

Hi everyone! I have been working hard at payroll today. I want to get the current task done. If so, everything else this week is EZ.

Last night, I got most of the stuff done that I wanted to: picked up the cookies, handled RSVP, finished DD13's dragon quiz, cooked for the next two weeks, looked up crochet stuff, put away stuff from the day before, and completed the scheduled webwork. Checking on Midsummer Night's Dream was OBE. No matter the content, I am not paying $110 x 2 for the tickets! I did not email the lawyer, because I needed to talk to the trust company first. I have left a message with the trust company.

Here is the stuff planned for tonight:

• Take apart sink, so I will know what replacement part to get
• Webwork - archive tasks
• Add more yarn to sewing bag
• Determine volunteer schedule for weekend (estate sale work possible Saturday, cat show Sunday)
• Arrange yet another trip to the car spa for Saturday if not otherwise obligated (nothing horrible - just needs an alignment)

EmptyNester's new color scheme sounds wonderful.

Real sorry to hear about Twins'Mom's Moses. We went through this with a 12 yo cat called Leo (12 is not elderly in cats). It looked like a localized problem so we did the amputation. He did recover quickly, but only for a year.

I was so happy to see MT posting earlier.

I worked on the temple stuff a bit but then dd called and I talked to her about Moses. She was very distraught and weeping and I stayed on the phone with her awhile, then called ds and let him know. He was stoic - had left class to call me back when he missed the call - but said he may call me back later.

When I called dh earlier, he hadn't talked to the vet yet - I told him I wanted him to talk to the vet before I talked to kids so we were on same page, and he started about not telling kids until after graduation (about six weeks!) unless I misunderstood. So I told him I didn't think Moses would last that long....so he was finally going to talk to the vet. Oy.

So the main thing I need to get done now is the temple work. Trying to bear down and get it done...

Chili seemed like a good idea with the winter like weather we are having today so I fired up the crockpot today with a pot of chili. Posting from my gazelle while waiting on the dryer. My emotions have settled down today so that is good it is peaceful here today. I turned off the tv several times.

Hi again! I decided to check in here, because I have only 8 minutes left at payroll before the bus AND my code is stable and doing what it is supposed to do and checked in. It is not complete, but what is there is working. Any further changes run the risk of breaking what works!

Tonight is Girls' Night Out, so Chinese food is almost certainly in my future. The dragon quiz is also likely. I am hoping I can get DD13 interested in taking apart the sink. She likes to take things apart and that will take one item off my list. Also, if she breaks it, so what! It's already broken! Guess I will start shutting down the computer now.
