Count me in as "missing" your birthday yesterday too, RR. The end of the month crept up on me very fast. No excuse(s). A Very Happy Belated Birthday, Ramblin Rose!!

Hello, villagers ~
Work last night was slow but good.
Finished the month-end financial reports for the library group and sent them out.
Working on the month-end financial reports for the sewing group.

Finally made the DPC to the cable company, which turned out to be a whole lotta nothin' -- why do I always worry about this stuff?

As I posted in Monday's thread, the cable company said they need to replace our coax cable with fiber, and the letter made it sound like old coax cable service will be ending immediately. We already knew from a previous letter that the change-over is free to us now, but if we don't do it now and decide we want it later, they will charge us $200.

For us the situation is we don't care if they install the line in the yard up to the house, but we don't have time to deal with all it would mean to have workers running lines all through the inside of the house -- and we don't care enough about cable tv to make it a priority. There are plenty of other options available now, and we have discovered that most of them are a lot cheaper than what we have been paying for basic cable.

(Pointing out that inertia has been working in the cable company's favor, we've been paying that bill every month since we moved to this house in 1993. Now that they are forcing us to change, they are probably going to lose our business.)

I called today to find out when the service to the coax will end and to make the appointment for a "site survey" about digging the trench to run the fiber line through the yard. Well, the cable we have is not going to stop working "any time soon" and the first appointment they have for someone to come look at the yard is Friday the 12th. She claimed that they hadn't even run the main fiber line to our neighborhood yet.

Good thing they sent us that urgent "final notice" letter, eh?

As I said, now that DH has started looking at all we can get with an antenna, I doubt very much we'll keep the cable channels.

Dh just called with 'some' info. Guess the Dr. talked to DS-A after the surgery, but no telling when I'll get to talk to him. Dh said the Dr. told him the surgery went well. He has to go back a week from Monday. The Dr. had prescribed Oxycodone for him, but he's really not wanting to take that. I was thinking t ylenol but I guess he can't take that. He looked through the paper work and it says he can take A dvil, ibupropen, etc. I think he's thinking he'll 'tough' it through but I'm sure he won't rest very well. Told him to find out NOW if DS/DDIL have any pain killers there that he can take. The nurse had told him "no driving for 3 weeks" but his paperwork says "3 days". So if he's to go back to camp he'll have to have DS take him tomorrow. At least DS-R, DDIL#1 should be there to keep an eye on him. He's sounding pretty tired and I hope he'll get some rest now. Wonder what DGS2 is going to think of the crutches and bandages when he sees him. He'll get spoiled there for sure. Sounds like they were at least able to take a stab at repairing the tear. I guess only time will tell. Thanks for your prayers and good thoughts btw.

Dee, thank you so much for the update, and thanks lucylee for remembering the "today" part, which I missed! Dee, I'm so glad he is with DsA's family and know they will be such a great help to him. I would like to see him "stay ahead of that pain" as they say, with pain relievers of some type. Nice that others around him can do something for YOU by doing little things for HIM. Accept this good fortune and kindness!

Yikes! I even saw birthday wishes for RR on Facebook and then forgot! Talk about brain dead these days!

I've managed all on that li&t prior except for dinner, and I need to ask dh to bring out some bags of pebbles because they are too heavy for me. Two peppers and a squash in the ground, herbs planted. I'm wondering if brain dead me bought bright pink geraniums for front porch instead of bright red. I hate it if that's the case because I have red pillows and accents for porch and they all look particularly good against the deep gray/navy house with white trim.

I bought salmon pink geraniums and white petunias today to go by the firepit when the pansies bite the dust. If we're hitting 80 next week with no rain that may be the end of them.

Need to get rolling with supper. Whoops, forgot about cutting up butternut squash to roast - the asparagus and salmon are quick, so I may need to do salad instead.

Didn't quite make 5 x 5 but the living room is looking much, much, better. I still have the bills to pay. The rest of my 5 are done and I've done some more filing and tidying and organizing.

Dh cooked dinner so I'll have to wash up. I'm just finishing icing my knees now, then I'll get the dishwasher running. Then we'll run over to dd's to water the plants.

Back from dd's. She left me a Godiva 85% dark chocolate bar as a thank you for watering the plants. I love having the better chocolate in the morning instead of my lower grade stuff.

On the treadmill now. Dh walked 12 miles with ds today so I didn't bother asking him if he wanted to go for a walk. I need 3K more steps to make my lowered goal so decided to take the time on the treadmill. I'm moving a bit more spryly today than I have been and in the evening I walked 2 miles the past 2 days so the evening walk isn't hurting me.

Still have bill paying to do and then in-between filing of some papers (they are going into my filing folders since they still have action to be done upon them.)

p.m. loads will be of hubby's work clothes.
Took photos of flowers & yard posted on fb if any one cares blooms are peeking.
Dinner is in the oven.
Watered garden stuff.
Spiffed up kit. & swept.

Oh -- me too, Rose! Happy belated birthday wishes!

I'm just halfway through 4 of my 5!
Sheets are piled on bed (clean)
And I've vacuumed all living area but the master bedroom and bath.
Focus vacuuming in laundry.
Walked 1 mile with dh.
Took care of dgs while ds, ddil, and dh moved some items from our house to theirs.

Hope mr. Dee AND YOU, Dee, both get some good sleep tonight.
