Decluttered a box of books.
Baby birds are alive still in the coop.
ToddlerN had a nap.
H is home from work.
I need a plan for dinner.
A walk is next up.

Sun is out now. 8-)

Nancy: I can't help but smile that the aggravation of miscommunication with the mother and no internet meant you cleaned well and then were ready for a meeting at your house you forgot was happening! Kind-of an "all's well that ends well" moment!

I napped deeply for two 45 minute periods.

Dh started dinner and walked over and got his bike, flipped the chicken in the over and walked back and got my bike.

Dinner tastes good and then it was time for walking club for me. Dh left for choir while I was out.

Now I have the house to myself.

Spent time looking up local physiotherapists. This area has tons but two in particular look good and include the sports designation. I'll both in the morning to find out fees. The closer one, although both are within walking/biking distance, fits bicycles which is important to me. I'm not sure I have mine adjusted correctly.

Also checked swim schedules. There's no public swim times that will work for my friend's work schedule so I won't be able to swim with her. And there's only one day per week, mid afternoon, that the closest pool (which I don't like but at least it is close) has no classes on at the same time as swimming. I might try regularly. Once I can bike, I try out a pool that is downtown but that takes clearance by the physiotherapist (which is why I looked them up.)

Next item - find the nearest x-ray clinic and plan to go there tomorrow.

Kathryn, so strange to me that you can just go to whatever x-ray clinic you choose. But it's certainly convenient. We would be directed to where and when, and orders sent in advance. I was frowning to hear that you couldn't just swim as you expected. I know that was a dissapointment. Is there such a thing as asking dr for a temporary handicapped parking hangtag to be closer to pool? I think ours here are done for years at a time, so wouldn't work.

Skippable rant - Speaking of medical things, I have done the stupid mammogram thing. :x probably to the detriment of my poor unprotected thyroid, but the insistence became too great and I was refused ultrasound referral. All clear - in fact they used the word "benign" in their letter, which is wildly incorrect, since anything they would have possibly found would have taken two more tests to determine whether it was benign or not, if one chose to test. They only found that there was nothing to find - as expected - so what was "benign"? Is all the world's breast tissue suspected cancerous until proven otherwise? It just makes me mad. Patronizing wording that pretends great seriousness without any cause for it.

I didn't tell here yet, though I did to doctor, that I found the technician to be quite ignorant or misinformed (or possibly informed but choosing to talk down to patients). I was not misled, however, and corrected her several times about recommendations and about effect on compromised thyroids. She insisted she had never read a negative word about mammograms and never read that there was ANY woman between 39 and 74 that didn't "need" mammograms every year - had not even heard of 2-year recommendations. Therefore, I can only assume she can not read. If I could have only been referred for an ultrasound as I asked, I would have had it years ago, and I intend to keep reminding doctors of that.

Hello, villagers ~
Topic of the day ... ok, I guess I have been wandering around the house doing bits & pieces of this & that. :) Thought I was going to go out to run a few errands, but decided I was making too much progress to interrupt by leaving the house.

Yesterday I had an appointment with the cable guy who came to do a "site survey" for the purpose of deciding where they will install the outdoors fiberoptic cable that will replace the old coax cable. Although DH and I have decided to get rid of cable tv as soon as we decide the best option of antenna etc. for us, letting them install the fiberoptic up to the house will reduce the costs if we ever decide to reinstall their tv or switch to their internet service.

Right now the plan is not to let them inside the house at all. That may change, depending on how long it takes them to actually come around to do the outside work. The guy said it might not be for a few months. Again, if we let them do it on their schedule, it will be no $ -- but it is extremely inconvenient to us to let them do it now, and who knows if we will ever want to have cable tv again once we drop it.

This guy said that the current coax cable will stay in service through the summer. I hope he's right.

Oh, I forgot to mention a conversation with DSis on Sunday about clutter. Somehow the family started talking about counter space, and DSis has a huge expanse of counter in her kitchen. She admitted that the whole peninsula is usually the place where everything gets dumped, and she has to clear it off every time she invites anyone over. I told her that was a relief to hear, and sometimes it gets depressing to see her perfect housekeeping and wonder how she gets it all done with her hectic schedule. She said she has some big baskets where she stashes everything and hides the baskets in her bedroom closet so we won't see the normal daily clutter.

My boss sent an email today asking if I could start coming to work a couple hours earlier on Monday and Thursday evenings. That will be part of the increased schedule for the summer. In the next couple of weeks she will decide whether or not to schedule me for Tuesday and/or Friday hours to help with story times. She is trying to hire a high school kid as temporary summer help, but if she can't find the right kid then she'll need me to work more often.
