I can see dust might as well attack it before the camels show up.
Love that, RR. At that rate, the camels should be grazing here aplenty!

I slept absolutely horribly last night. Woke up about midnight and never went back to sleep until after 6 (that's SIX). Woke up about 7:15 but went back to lay down for a while -I was definitely feeling sleep deprived. Had a date for breakfast with dd and then on to get my hair cut. After that we stopped at the bank (just "stopped" mind you) -over an hour later dd finally came out. She wanted to close out gd16's bank account and they were giving her a hard time. When this particular clerk finally checked with superiors -she could do it. They wanted gd to come in and do it. Wasn't happening. This is $$ (almost $250) that dd/dsonil have put away for her from time to time. And in actuality the guardian has been receiving more than enough for her for a year now...so......

Tonight I'm going to try a T ylenol PM and see if I can at least get in a halfway decent night. I did doze a little this afternoon and feel a whole lot better.

DD and dsonil got the back of all DS-A's shirts printed (well over 90* in that garage). They'll do the fronts tomorrow. They've pretty well decided to just go ahead and ship them to DS rather than us trying to fit them in our cars. DS gave them enough that they could be shipped. They came in 8 BIG boxes. There was over 200 including 48 hooded sweatshirts so lots of space needed.

Dinner's ready and since I haven't eaten since breakfast ( a rarity for me), I am more than ready to eat. In fact I had a couple of pieces of cantaloupe to get rid of the shakes -yummy! Don't usually care for it, but this was very good.

Back from dinner.

After my last post & distraction, I started work on the sermon and finished it and the prayers is 4 hours (on the clock - actual work time was less.)

Dh pulled out the green 'grass' carpet and got that part of the balcony done. Didn't seem like a lot of work to me, but then again I was writing but popping up from time to time to help him as needed. There's no point taking photos, it won't really show up but the edges look neater now. We only used just under half the carpet so have stored the rest while we wait to see how it lasts and if we need to replace it annually. The carpet was $30 so replacing every 2nd year isn't a lot of money but it is a lot of effort. The project took dh over 2 hours.

Just a few more items to finish and I'll be done! At least one of them is my job. I hope I can get to it next week.

Ds came over to do laundry and came out to dinner with us. It was half-price fajita day at the local pub so we had family size serving and all ate until we were full. Very good. Plus I got another 3K steps in.

Dfs also called from his new base to let me know how he's doing. His knee problem is a torn ham string so similar issue as mine. He has one physio exercise to do and is on light duty for the next few weeks. His course starts some time in June but he'll be home on leave for a week before it starts. The Navy even pays for his flights home. I'm glad he'll be back since he's been away now for 14 weeks and the next course is another 6 weeks, then sea training of at least 6 weeks. At that point he moves from grunt pay to his proper salary which will be much better. They'll also put their house up for sale since he'll be posted to one coast or another, still don't know which. His wife is being very patient with all this.

Oh, Rose, I agree that frequent vacuuming helps w/the allergy problems, but I just don't want to do it when I'm actually having a major attack.

Hello, villagers ~
This is one of the days when I am calling on important tips I've learned on this forum over the years.

I started the day with plenty of energy, but then work was brutal.

The library patrons couldn't have been nicer, it wasn't that. The challenge was being open to the public for 4 hours, which meant that with opening & closing duties I had to be on site over 5 hours. On Saturdays we only have 1 person scheduled, so as long as people keep coming in the door, there is no way to take a break.

Somewhere in there I was able to sit down at the counter for 15-20 minutes but there were still patrons coming up to ask for help and calling on the phone, so I didn't get a chance to eat my snack. I didn't even have time to finish my 1 cup of coffee!

Add to that, after the 1st hour I didn't want hot coffee anyway because the central air is still not hooked up even though it was scheduled to be done 2 weeks ago. We have fans going, but the heat & humidity have built up enough in the building that it's causing problems with the computers and the copier keeps overheating and having paper jams. I don't know what the actual temperature was, but the local news website says it's 76 now so the high this afternoon must have been over 80.

By the time I got home, I was beat and my feet were killing me. I had taken a 24 oz. bottle of water to work and sipped that throughout my shift, but it wasn't enough.

I could hear Harriet's voice in my head saying, "Drink more water!" so that's the first thing I did, grabbed a big glass of water and drank it straight down.

Then DH took me to the diner for our very late lunch (after 3pm). I asked for another large glass of water there instead of soda. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, though. I managed to eat a cheeseburger, some coleslaw, and a few fries. I gave the rest of the fries to DH.

Once we were back home, I turned on the computer and sat down to check email. I started to read a blog, but I kept feeling the pressure of all the chores OMM. :( I didn't want to sit for the rest of the day, but I was still in enough pain that I didn't know how much work I'd be able to do.

I remembered Dee's signature line, "Begun is half done, so begin!" I decided I had enough energy to go downstairs and turn on the dryer for 20 minutes to finish the load in it. While I was already down there, I opened the washer and took out the things that can't go in the dryer, and hung those up.

I came back upstairs and made a cup of iced coffee. While I was sitting with that and reading a little more of the blog, I thought about eating the elephant 1 bite at a time. By then it was time to flipflop the laundry, so down the stairs I went to hang up the shirts from the dryer, move the wet clothes from the washer, and start another load of shirts.

In the office, finished the iced coffee and knew it was way too early to think about going to sleep. That made me remember that we have flannel sheets on the bed and they are going to be much too warm tonight ... but I didn't know if I had the energy to do all the work of changing the sheets. Sigh. Oh, I have to go upstairs to go to the bathroom, let me get up there to take care of that and then I'll see how I feel.

Oh, clean sheets on the bed will feel soooo good tonight. Hey, the cat is not on the bed right now. OK, I can do this, I'll change the sheets. Done! :) Now I don't have to do anything else for the rest of the evening. 8-)

Except there's this load of towels all ready to go in the washer. And now the dryer is buzzing again. Hmmph. :|

Well, ok, I'll go downstairs 1 more time to pull that load out of the dryer, move the wet clothes over, and start the load of towels. As long as I'm down there, I will fold the things coming out of the dryer. I won't bring the basket upstairs, though -- nope, not gonna do it! :P I can put them away tomorrow!

The dishes are going to wait until tomorrow as well ... unless I decide to eat another bite of that elephant later tonight before bedtime ... ;)

I am home! Long day on the road today with dd. We ran through a lot of heavy rain and once that cleared up, ran into road construction with long delay. Got off the interstate with lots of other people and found a way around, might have been better to stay on interstate and wait it out but we are home at last.

This was a great conference, and a great chance to enjoy the time with dd. I was a little afraid she would be bored to tears but she enjoyed it quite a bit. On Thursday afternoon we left at lunch time and went to the U.S. Grant home in that area, and to the St. Louis arch and had dinner out at the historic area. Very neat trip.

We are leaving for the beach tomorrow, so I need to do some things to turn around and head out again. Dh has gone to a temple function to meet another educator candidate...dd texted with him several times today while I was driving but I didn't realize he would be out. There's no sign of him starting to pull out beach things yet so I take that to mean that we won't be trying to leave really early tomorrow.

I am going to go unload my stuff from the car (and maybe dd's?) so I can start a lol next. The house is not in bad shape but I need to water plants and do some of those things too.

Store run did not happen.
Chickens have been fed.
I rinsed and loaded dishes.
Washer twins are going.
I have been plugging away at the elephant here as well.
I have a plan for dinner.

Bookie: what a great testimonial of how we carry the encouragement of each other in our hearts each day, even if we aren't posting!

And it reminds me to open the dishwasher so the dishes will air dry before morning, and gather up and put away the laundry ds pulled out of the dryer in order to make room for his things.

Oh, and I need to drink some water and do my physio stretches.

I'll shut off the computer now but will still carry you all in my heart as I work my way towards a good night's sleep. Hope Dee can manage a good night too.

Good night all! 'See' you in the morning!

BookSaver, although I'm sorry you had a tough day at work, it was delightful to read how you dealt with it later. (and thank goodness you got that water in)

Dd and I took a mile walk today and also worked some together on housework. We really didn't walk at the right time of day - so hot today.

I am showered shampooed and "set".

Still have some of today's laundry folding to do.

eating the elephant 1 bite at a time
Guess this is what I've been doing lately without even realizing it, Booksaver. I do seem to get a lot done with this method -at least right now.

Well so much for trying a t ylenol PM tonight. DD said she had some -I found it with the meds in the med basket. Went to take one out, thinking the cover looked 'old'. Looked for the expiration date: 12/04. She was pretty surprised. At any rate they're gone now. So guess I'll just take a b enadryl or 2 in a minute and hope they help me fall back asleep tonight whenever I wake up.

Watching a Rochester/Toronto NLL game right now. Figured ddil & DS-R were there since they have season tickets. DD invited them to feel free to send a 'selfie'. So they did, showing them in lawn chairs by a campfire. They decided to stay home and enjoy the outdoors.
