sorry so late getting back... hope your day was lovely.

we had a huge storm come through but the rain was warm and it cooled off the humidity we were having all day! It was in the mid to high 80's and now its 71 - lovely.

I am heading off soon with my d cousin and dmom and dd older (hopefully dd younger too if she gets home in time)
got some work done.. makes me happy.
time for a bit of study and who knows!

Elizabeth, I think it is deplorable the way the chicken friend invites your x and the other woman to her parties when she knows you will be there. Has she not heard of karma? Also that business about you and dd13 staying on the patio upset me. What kind of a control freak is she? Again, karma!

DH just came home and took LO to his Karate lesson for me. DGD4 went with them so I am ALL ALONE! My ears are tingling because it is so quiet. Not a sound came be heard!

I did a quick put away of food from dinner. I will go back and finish cleaning up dishes when LO & DGD4 return. I don't want to waste any of this quiet time doing dishes.

Next up - Process daily gross bags. They are stacked up about a foot high. *sigh*

I posted quickly hoping Kally would see it just now.

I have made a royal mess but I have made progress. I just need to add the tomato sauce, tomatoes, et al to the lasagne sauce once the meat isn't pink. I have stuff pulled out all over the kitchen, but underneath the kitchen sink is much, much better. Need to keep moving for sure.

-reboot laundry
-clean out under another kitchen counter
-clear kitchen counters and floor, sweep up floor as needed
-bring down sewing machine (aaaak! really? do I dare try this?) and see if I can sew up a cushion cover for front porch
-fix up the mantle and GR coffee table with a more summery vignette. I like to use white or lighter things this time of year

I may have damaged my pinky toe. Earlier I dropped a can of spray paint fell off a garage shelf and landed there. Left it bleeding and bruised and sore. I have it tape to next toe to limit its movement. I'm thinking if it were broken (which it probably isn't) they would only tape it anyway.

Hi Twins! I did see you. I haven't posted for so long I'm surprised anyone remembers me. I lurk frequently so keep "up" on what is happening. So sorry about the loss of your beloved dogs. (((Twins))) Hope you are doing ok. I know it is hard.

RunKitty, yes, a day without so much commitment is even better than normalcy.

Chickens, practically... Chickens need their pen. Believe me, a predator is used to watching those chickens, and the owner is bound to be offering a pen for protection part of the time. It's not as if they roost in trees, because you might as well have the farewell party for them pretty soon. Certainly while company uses the yard, then, there IS another place they can go. No different from an indoor pet who can go to another room if a visitor is allergic or afraid. Common courtesy.

I did do a little extra laundry.
Desk Day is done for our household.
Helped dd35 with supplement purchase confusion for her dmil.
Watered plants.

There was some normalcy, and I was grateful.

I watered plants outside. ToddlerN fed chickens played in the dirt, did side walk chalk. I made brownies that did not turn out & should be tossed they are like tootsie rolls in the center with brick hard edges!

I prewashed the fabric and it is drying on the deck now.
I knit up a few rows.
Dson is having h. deliver them some landscaping rock at home.
Feeling more normal except it is 95* outside here now.

Elizabeth: I'm with Harriet on this one. The chicken lady lacks courtesy. Do not call her a friend. Ditch her.

Dh is off to a movie later this evening and then several more tomorrow. I might go to one with him. Tomorrow is Tuesday - haven't heard from MF so am assuming won't see him. I'm leaving things in his court for a while although if we are to see each other before summer it has to be soon. He's away all July (I think) and I'm away all August. Of course, it is a busy time of year so that makes fitting in 'one more thing' complicated, especially when there's only 1 day a week we are both free.

I had a nap after physio and grocery shopping. Then dh and I prepared the ground beef I bought for the freezer (except for 2 servings which I'll freeze tomorrow.) We had burgers for dinner and watched Frankie and Grace. I quickly got the dishes done up in the 7 minutes before it was time to head off for walking group.

Visited with a woman moving into the other building and we'll call on her in two weeks to include her in walking group. Then I visited with our 'bedroom neighbour' (her kitchen is against our bedroom wall but otherwise we never hear her.) Before walking we visited with our 'office neighbour' (whose bedroom is against our office.) So it has been a social evening, especially considering we live in an apartment building!

Chicken lady is former friend acquatance now wfriends like that who needs enemies!?

Corn on cob for dinner was a hit.
h said not to toss the brownies lol!
