Afternoon y'all...

I am happy to report I did my travelin' very early this morning. Met my friend at the track at 5:30 and we walked 3.5 miles. Then I was at Wally World by 7. Good time to go because there were very few people there and it made my shopping a breeze. From there I went to the car wash, put gas in the car and had it washed as well. That too went quickly as there weren't many people there either.

I made my reservations to visit my mom last night. I normally go home for 9 days. One day is spent travelling to get there and another to get home. This time due to some things going on at home with my mom I will take the red-eye on a Sunday night and return home the following Friday. I will be gone for almost two weeks. That should make for an interesting trip.

Best of all after massive searches on the net, I was able to locate a house for Sweetie and I to rent the last part of Aug and the first part of Sept. The first trip we ever took together was to Pawley's Island in SC and he wanted me to duplicate the trip. He was very specific as to where he wanted to stay and what kind of accommodations he wanted to stay in. I found a house one block from the ocean just like the one we stayed in before. The houses in the area are mostly raised and this one is no exception. We will have a screened front poach and be able to view the ocean from there. As it turned out I somehow was able to find a house approximately 1.5 blocks from where we originally stayed. It sleeps 12  so Sweetie said we should sleep in a different room every night . I'll see if I can post the link to the house in MO.

Someone was mentioning laundry which reminded me to load mine and start it.... Done
And I am so excited to say I too now know a true Rocket Scientist. What a band of amazing women we all are.

Temps are to reach 115* today, so you know where you can find me....Tomorrow my friends are gathering for our monthly luncheon and I am really looking forwards to it. This being summertime means many of my friends who usually don't get to attend will be able to because as y'all know SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!

And...after we eat, I am heading back to Macy's to buy the other bathing suit that I should have bought the first time I was there. Will also go to the shoe store and hopefully, if they still have my size, buy the other pair of sandals that I should have bought the last time. Hopefully the Shopping Gods will be with me. I can only hope

Off to work on the pile on my desk. Then Jillian Michaels and I have a date to begin shredding my body. We are beginning our up close and personal relationship today. Enjoy your day. Stay well and happy :D

Well, I've spent all day traveling - I've been out of the house since 8:45 a.m. I just now got home. I was home for about an hour around lunch to eat, call back dfriend B, gather things for work. I'm heading out in a minute to go for a jog.

I'm tickled with the others at having a real rocket scientist among us! :) LOL!
And I wanted to tell Harriet's dd that I'm excited for this wonderful opportunity for her!! Well, both opportunities, actually. It's nice that there's another high school intern with her at the internship.
Glad to hear that Twins' dd is safely in Jordan. I'll have to get on fb later and look at the photos. Is she going to go to Petra while she is there?

I've been texting (that is how to get ahold of him, apparently) with ds re: his coming home over July 4th. He finally confirmed that he has the 3rd off. Tix would need to be purchased today or tomorrow. . . .

OK, I'm off for a jog. Dd17 and I conferred earlier on the possibility of a late dinner so I could get my jog in beforehand, and she is OK with that. We just had some rain showers, but they have stopped. I need to jog today; I didn't eat well last night. I got into the peanut butter, my Achilles heel.

I ended up having a nap before dinner. I was in my recliner reading and that wasn't working well because my eyelids kept blocking my view of the page so I gave up and napped.

Dinner was just burgers. Didn't get to dh in time to tell him not to defrost a bun for me. I overcame my aversion to throwing out good food (as oppose to leaving it until it goes bad!) and my desire for a bun to make my burger easier to eat and did have it naked. Still had lots of starch with my dinner (popcorn) so don't miss the bun in my tummy.

Cleaned up the kitchen and booked a get-together with my senior friend for next Wednesday. My week is filling up but I have a meeting halfway to her place and there's a strawberry social at her old church (which is near ds's) so I've arranged to pick her up after the meeting, show her our apartment and pick up dh, have dessert first and then go out to dinner on our way to taking her home.

Dh has a 5 a.m. meeting tomorrow so we're off to bed soon. Hope I can sleep - between the nap and early bedtime, I'm not sure I will be able to doze off.

That is steadily my problem too, Kathryn. Right now I'm watching the end of the US Open in WA state. See the one we know is in 3rd place right now but it's oh so early.

Dh has gone to bed. DD ordered pizza and boneless wings for dinner. I had 2 small wings and 1 slice of pizza. I'll be glad to be able to exercise again. I don't like not being able to get steps in.

Off to bed for me -going to do the recliner again tonight. Hoping by tomorrow night I'll be ready for the bed.

As I was reading Elizabeth's post I was thinking, "It's mostly all rocket science to me". But I am getting better. Discovered when the kids were here that my little phone has all sorts of stuff in it that I never bothered with. If we could figure out how to get connected to internet I could look at my email (which I don't care about anyway since it's all business stuff). I just use the phone, address book, and the texting.

I can only do so much laundry at a time around here. I have to stop when I run out of places to hang things up. I hung up 4 sheets and all the towels. Tomorrow I should be done with all the extra laundry and finish ours which is a load of whites.

Most of the house is back to normal. I could have finished the rest but I napped on and off all afternoon. I tend to have a very lazy day or two after the kids are here and gone. Regrouping, I guess. Tonight I worked on our personal banking, setting up folder and stuff for new account... same money, different paperwork! And tomorrow is the end of the week. I'm in great shape for the weekend.
