Re: Monday Monday
Hello to everyone... checked in J&C... praying...
New checklist worked well till I returned from Wmart. Now my energy is kinda shot, but I do need to s/s the second two baths before I give in to laziness.
However, before Wmart, I walked a mile outdoors, and talked to my daunt on the phone, so I am feeling quite virtuous... and quite sad. Found out this morning that teenage daughter of a distant cousin was found dead in bed this morning. Epileptic seizure. So heartbreaking. I have never met the child, but do know her mother, aunts, grandmother.
Plus tonight we are going to funeral visitation for well-loved fellow church member. Lots of sadness in our community today.
DS, ddil, and dgs will join us for visitation and supper afterwards, though, so that is a good thing.
Last night, had nice visit with ddil, who told me "It's okay," about 4 times and laughed when I told her I didn't mean to "take over," I just did stupid things sometimes. So I think we're all good.

Re: Monday Monday
LadyM, that IS a lot of driving!! I feel for you and others here who have to drive long distances for activities. All the driving I did for kids when they were younger was at least generally in the same city/metropolitan area. That can have its own aggravations with traffic, but I don't remember the kids routine activities and schools being over-the-top far away.
Back from the groc. store. Going to this different one takes me a L ong time. There's another one I may try next time; it may be closer. I wanted IBC ro ot be er for my pulled pork, but they just had the standard soda brands. I kind of thought IBC was standard. . . They also didn't have any B ahlsen cookies, a German brand I will buy.
I realized why I'm feeling so unmotivated. I'm really tired. I went to bed at 1 a.m. and my alarm (accidentally set) went off at 7 a.m. and I never really went back to sleep. . . .I am not sleeping well with dh away. Dh has told me the same is true of him. We'll need to be careful when he returns that we don't get into a big argument as we sometimes do when we're both tired. . . . . We're kind of like little kids tha tway. LOL!
Sounds like you and ddil get along fine, lucylee!
I'm off to finish unloading the car and get the mac 'n cheese casserole ready - for dd17 to consume.

Re: Monday Monday
Cherries are washed and in the freezer now. My friend came and left. I did aA qnother 2 rounds of yard work. Having a no tv day and getting SO much done!
I did some watering and finished a chapter in a book. Time for another round of weeding and I need to move the water then will reward myself with new to me spinning mags to browse through em. I know some one that would be interested in em when I get done with em.

Re: Monday Monday
hi just got back ... dmom needed to go to the doctor (nothing life shattering just annoying). Had a lots of fun with her. I took going on not so d uncle again... I have to remember who he is. He is playing with my guilt ... He has radiation 5 times a week = normally I don't mind but I found out he is definitely using the neighbors to drive even though my mom offered to have him take a taxi. He said he could "drive himself and if he gets dizzy he will drive into the grass" ... geesh! Like I am going to put other people's lives in jeopardy and he knows it.. interesting.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Not figuring out this dataset. Bleah. I have found a dance studio and will go Wednesday, determined the time for the Cajun music at the zoo, and gotten a followup appointment for Burrito Kitty next Saturday. This means I will miss my knit and crochet friends AGAIN, but it is important. I have to give BK another pill tonight, I hope the burrito wrap works again. I have been draping the towel over her and doing a little wrapping every time I look in on her, so that most of the time she sees the towel, she is only getting petted. This morning she had improved, but was still one sorry looking cat.

Re: Monday Monday
Had a successful run of errands. Didn't wash the car, but might just use the California Duster on it because it isn't bad, just the back window (chronic problem with vans and station wagons.)
Dh and I biked to our local store for a few extra items and so he's got out today. Tonight is walking club. I need to change before that because my current outfit is too hot (changed into denim capris for biking because I was wearing white ones and they'd get dirty for sure.
I biked 37.2 km last week. That's just over 23 miles. I've reset the odometer and have started counting again for this week.
Dinner is in the oven. I was really sore and slow moving but it turns out that's because I have been moving a lot today. So if I decide to skip walking club, I don't have to worry.

Re: Monday Monday
((lucylee)) I'm so sorry to hear about the sadness in your extended family and community.
Driving - yes, LadyM you were thought of earlier today since I realize you do a lot of driving. I will have 4 days a week that I'll have very little driving, so I'm going to concentrate on that blessing.
helia, dd can get her license right after she completes this job. Sigh. If I hadn't been so concerned about the evening classes for driver's ed a year ago, thinking she'd not get enough sleep or homework time, she would have been a few months ahead and already have it. But HRH reminds me that now that we know where the internship is, it is not such a "given" that we would have let her go it alone, anyway. Plus if we were in a position to allow that, I'd be stuck here without a car for about 8 hours 3 days a week ... ... so there are several ways to look at it.
Big surprise to find out these folks assumed dd would take an hour for lunch, even t part-time. And they go to nice places she really can't afford. They insisted on taking her out for her first day, but she and I will have to put on thinking caps for lunches to pack, I think

Re: Monday Monday
Home for the day. I am very tired. I feel like someone pulled the plug out of my energy bucket and it is drained dry.
Had a eye-opening visit with LO counselor. I didn't put the two things together until we were talking, but LO anger has evaporated since DD moved away. LO is still dealing with some issues and emotions surrounding DD. He doesn't like that she continually lies to him. Hopefully LO can work his way through the emotions with the counselor help as much as he is able to process at his age. LO has become SUPER sensitive to any form of false statments. I have to be very careful about teasing. He expects only the truth to come from me. The other day when it was raining I laughingly told LO to "run fast so you won't melt in the rain". Meaning he was sweet and sugar melts when it gets wet. It upset him because I didn't tell him the truth (he really won't melt). It was a big long explanation trying to get him to understand. He is black/white. Either it is the truth....or it is a lie. He doesn't have a gray area that includes teasing or jokes.

Re: Monday Monday
I've gone over the next couple of days schedule with DH and LO. LO will be going with DH while I go for medical tests the next 2 mornings. Tomorrow I start wearing heart monitor. I looked it up so I know what to expect Holter monitor. Looks like wearing a loose shirt will be needed and one that buttons up the front might be advantageous.
I'm not sure I can make it back in time for LO swim lesson so DH said he will take LO. That gives me 2 hours of "free" time. Hummm.....what could I do with two free hours? I am going to check and see if DGS18 can meet for lunch. It has been awhile since we have had a long eye-to-eye conversation.

Re: Monday Monday
Button front is definitely a plus, LadyM. BTDT. Hope the "eye-to-eye" conversation happens for you. Evidently you don't have dgd4?
Met dh at the gate (so he didn't get 'captured' by anyone here -all too often happens). We needed to get dd's awnings taken in, in preparation for what is promised to be a stormy night. Met 2 friends who were out walking and they volunteered to help dh so they hopped on the golf cart & we met dh at the gate. Headed back to dd's only to have DS-R call to say he and ddil#1 had just finished taking up all her awnings, but that she had a window open and it was locked. So called ahead to dh -he didn't even realize he'd just passed DS on the roadway. He had the key in his pocket so that was all good. I continued on to let our friends off (and it had started to rain).
Have DBailey all set here. She's so good with her bed here -she knows it's hers and there she lies. It's been a Godsend this week with me not moving too well. Usually she'd lie wherever I want to walk (and there's not that much extra room in an RV). My leg is quite swollen and sore from all the driving so I'm ready to put it up for the night. First I've driven in a week. Made it to the airport in Niagara Falls at 4:15. DD's flight left at 4:57. Glad we had no delays! Poor girl was losing her 'cookies' before she left here this afternoon -before she went to her RV to get her stuff that she absolutely needed. Hopefully tomorrow she'll be able to put it behind her. (But not if DCF has their way.)
