Lucylee: Your dm can lie down in the back seat of the Tahoe except when ds is performing so that will give her some respite if the back hurts.

Dh is starting to make reservations for his trip in July. He's pushed it back a week so gets home on Friday the 31st and we leave for a month on August 2. I told him he'll be missing my panic over trip preparations but will have to settle with me making all the decisions about what to bring! He's gone for 13 full days so I'll have time to myself this summer and will be able to control meal plans, no compromises, so have a chance to get the last of the weight for my goal gone by August 2 so I just have to maintain while I'm away, not lose. I have 6 pounds to lose between now and then.

We had leftover pizza for dinner tonight so I'll be over my calories for the day but we did have a nice walk after dinner. Ran into my neighbour in the hall so invited her for Canada Day to watch the fireworks. Their apartment is on the wrong side of the building for watching them. I'm considering putting invitations under the doors of all the neighbours on that side of the building. It will be another chance for an informal get together.

True, Kathryn... But the backseat is kinda awkward to climb into you know... Dgs's carseat is in the 2nd seat. I'm just afraid I'll get a little claustrophobic if I have to sit back there...

Trying to put a positive spin on this like MT taught me...
She won't go unless she is feeling fairly good to begin with...
I'll enjoy contributing to her enjoyment of ds, and her getting to spend the day with dgs...
I don't think her sometimes chatterbox ways bother anyone as much as they do dbro and me...
DH will NOT back out on me unless he is really sick; he wants to go more than anyone...
It's only 90 minutes each way. If I'm having a panic attack, I can be the one to lie down in the back seat...
In approx 26 hours, it will all be over.
Tomorrow is another day.

Just made dh's flight reservations and an additional 2 hotel reservations. Each one get successively cheaper. I pointed out he should move to the airport the night before his flight because even if he's taking the 11:45 flight, he'll have to be there at 9:45 and return the rental car before hand (another hour) and that means he'll be driving from Pasadena to LAX on the freeways during the morning rush hour. OR He could have dinner, drive leisurely to LAX, return the rental car, check into a hotel, take their shuttle in the morning to the airport and get home 5 hours earlier because he's picked a 7 a.m. flight. He opted for the second choice. Personally, I would have stuck with the 11:45 flight but had a nice leisurely morning.

As for hotel reservations - he had to take one day off the reservation he already made but they then said there was no availability. So I made a new reservation for quite a bit less but noted they charge $17 a day for parking. If he has a car (which he wants because he's meeting people for dinner and such), then it makes more sense to stay a little farther out and save the $17/day, $400 on the room over the 12 days and get a free hot breakfast each day (another $8/day savings.) I know the client is paying for this but it still bugs me when it is easy to cut travel expenses and still end up with a nicer room, manager's receptions each evening (more free food), full kitchen to heat up leftovers, and still get reward points for a chain we use a lot.

Anyway, I'm now up late again so shall head off to bed now. At least I did my physio exercises today (plus had physio therapy) so don't need to do that.
