Harriet: I would either take cucumber sandwiches, or the more modern take on them - a slice of cucumber, with a piece of cheese, cream cheese, smoked fish, dab of ham salad, or whatever else you'd put on a cracker. I do that when I want a finger food for people who are gluten-free.
I'm home. The party was fun but we couldn't stay long because dh had to be home for a conference call at 9. We were running late all afternoon so didn't leave dinner until 7, got to the party at 7:45 and stayed until 9. Dh texted someone else to start the meeting, I dropped him at the apartment and then drove dd home. We had taken everything but the cooler down in the grocery cart yesterday morning, so dh brought the cooler up when I dropped him off and I was able to empty (and tidy) the car before coming up.
I've made up a Canada Day sign and posted it at the elevator, inviting those who want to watch the fireworks to our apartment tomorrow night after 9.
It is 11 so I'm working on heading to bed now. Dh, for some reason, is on the phone right now making arrangements for something. Must be California (if it is 11 here, it will be a reasonable time to talk to someone in CA.)

Re: Tuesday Transition
Thanks in advance, Ramblin'.
Trying to come to grips with half of this year being over. I feel complete disbelief! (smile) Realizing it is Ken in Canada and Twins' Dad's half-birthdays.
Got several small laundry loads done today.
Evening dailies done well.

Re: Tuesday Transition
Lucylee, could you & dh surreptitiously use some of Rose's tips when you are babysitting dgs? Any chance your dh would be willing to give dgs a tour of the trees in your backyard
? Oh, & buy C heerios!
Kathyrn, my first thought was cucumber sandwiches, too! Harriet, it you go the sandwich route, consider removing the crusts & cutting the bread into small squares. I can envision them stacked in two or three layers on a plate -- simple to do, pretty to look at, and they would meet the finger food criteria. You could also go all out by wearing Downton Abbey-esque attire: long dress, wide brimmed hat & a long necklace or two. You could even pretend to be Lady Mary or the Dowager Countess
!
((Harmony)), hope you are feeling much better today.
Lady M, my head is spinning just reading about your ds/ddil summer schedule. So busy!
I was up hours earlier than usual this morning & a late afternoon nap has me wide awake & here cuop instead of asleep in bed. Starting to feel a little drowsy, but I want to take a quick peek at the July Declutter thread. I clicked on the link here in pwyc a few days ago & it looks doable. Even if I get only a portion of that list done, it would really help. But I must say the author is a real optimist if she thinks my garage can be decluttered in one day. Ha!
Sweet dreams, everyone.
Good Morning, Lynlee!
