A couple days ago DH asked what I wanted for Mothers Day. I am already very blessed so I couldn't think of anything. While driving to the park this morning I realized that if I had a bicycle I could ride it to the park and add a couple miles of exercise each day. I will also be able to ride bikes with LO and teach him how to safely ride his bike on the road. Win. Win. I think a inexpensive bike will be just fine for this type of riding. I do want a bike that is easy to get on/off.
Thinking of Harriet & Helia DD's as they take finals. When is the last day of school?

Done lunch and cleared up the kitchen. No sense leaving out things that can be covered in dust.
Two of the fans are in and running (so the electricians been here. The bedroom ensuite is being worked on now. I was able to use the office bathroom. The office is covered in a thin layer of dust. I had asked dh if we should cover up the equipment and he said no. Since it is his job to keep his desk clear and dusted, he can live with that answer. I'm thankful I put away a few open files this morning.
Now to start another hour of work. Which is only 40 minutes (I do that much plus work to a natural break point, walk around, then go back for another 40 minutes.)

I finally did my AM personal care. I skipped most of it this morning and just threw on clothes and left. Also washed my hair so I'll go outside to air dry.
There has been a constant stream of people stopping by to gawk and chat with DH and contractors. Every time I look outside there are 2-3 different vehicles. We are paying by the job and not by the hour so all this chatting is on their dime.
Lunch is left over broth and vegetables. No one likes it except me so it is all mine to enjoy.

helia, when all was said and done, last year's 2014/'15 flu vaccine was only 18 percent effective. So this year, if your dd did contract influenza, there's no reason to assume the new shot would have been on target for her anyway. No way to know until all the '15/'16 data is in regarding this year.
I have sent an email to ddil emphasizing that they really do not need to get me a present because for the second time in just a few weeks, ds attended a funeral being so attentive to me, particularly, put up with all kinds of odd folks and situations he didn't really understand but smiled through. He was so helpful to everyone and ended up a big favorite of an elderly bereaved relative who wanted him to sit with her, and patted his hand, so that he couldn't leave her and go to talk to the other firemen, even though she didn't really know who he was. How can some tangible gift top that sort of time gift, so he and she need to forget it.

For today's excitement read on. I am SO glad I got up and did stuff early, bc with a loud bang a"ross the street a squirrel bit the dust knocked out the power. I had to call the A/C co. to get the power co # could not find it. So now I have that in my cell. It was only off 45 minutes.
I got the wool carded up and was spinning it up that did not take power so l kept on doing that.
Got the last load of laundry in the dryer now.

Hello dear ladies,
Sunny day again.
I got most of the dailies done and then dson N showed up so stopped to visit with him.
Eating lunch then going to rest awhile and then head to work.
Did everything but dust and Declutter. I filed 10 things today. Figured if I file a few each day, the pile will shrink.
Paid some bills and looked over the month's budget again.
Waving to all!

Sadie, it's nice having you here with us.
Nancy, oh my, poor squirrel.
Now I'm thinking about those trained squirrels in Willy Wonka. Daddy I want one. She's a bad nut, you see.
Ok, getting serious now... I guess my fourth must be simply the ability to put one foot in front of the other when things get absolutely crowded, overrun with problems...though recently I've not been able to do that very successfully. 3 times in the last 2 days I've lost my check register and had big long scavenger hunt through the house. DH has lost a check somewhere and I have called the bank every day for a week, and I've been through every file, every stack, every letter tray, every clipboard, 4 file cabinet drawers, and cannot find evidence of it. He did this a few months back and found it under a stack of papers in the mess he loves to keep on the kitchen table.
LadyM, a bike is a great idea! They're so much fun. We have 2 older cheap ones from WM. At other house I had to store them out on the lanai and they got pretty rusty. I used metal cleaner and got most of the rust off when we moved here, but they're pretty fun to ride around on.
Mother's Day is usually hit or miss around here. Some years it's extraordinary, some are so-so and some years I'd like to hang myself. DD2 and I talked about it yesterday. DSiL's family wanted to get together at his Mom's (and chat about her health) and it would be an inconvenient long trip. I usually see them when they come to see her. I told her it's ok, Mother's Day is off my radar this year so whatever happens is fine, and I'll be seeing them in a couple weeks anyway.
I'm trying to get over being so sensitive about the holidays.
Kathryn, I probably have as much dust in my house as you have now. I can't seem to get to mine and I have no excuse. Ever since I did the big clean on Saturday, I've been sneezing and coughing.
Guy who's working with DH pulled up yesterday with his truck/trailer carrying a nice little backhoe. Think he was trying to tell me something?
Clouds, lots of rain (YAY!) thunder & lightning off and on all day. I won't have to water today. DH came home all wet and muddy.
(Lucylee) hope today is going better.

OK, I'm spinning wheels now. Not sure if I reported it, but paypal account transactions are entered and reconciled. I entered an invoice wrong last year, swapping 65 for 56 so this year when I received the 65, the account wouldn't balance, I was off by $9. Dh immediately said it was transposed numbers and found it for me.
With all the banking done, credit card expenses are the next big thing to do. Should be easier this year because we didn't spend too much. Plus we don't have a two phone lines so that's 24 fewer lines to reconcile. I've had trouble getting the records out of Quicken though so will take a break now and walk around the block or something.
Tonight is walking club at 7 so I need to also think of dinner. Actually, I'm to the point of suggesting take-out. I don't have the calories left for today but I don't have the head to think about that, cleaning and keeping on with the bookkeeping.
Oh, and the rent review hearing date has been set so there's a flurry of email about that.

I've been learning how to fix database problems as they come up. This means an unpredictable payroll schedule. It is almost 3 and I have spent most of the day (minus lunch) in the office of the coworker who is training me. Tonight is dance class night. I could try the Friday hula hooping class again, but I may see if a friend wants to have dinner instead. I need to do a better job on my social life and Friday is really the best (sometimes only) time.
I heard from my unemployed friend N this morning (before settling in at coworker's office). I have been worried about her. It turns out the reason I have heard less from her is that she has a temp job. She missed the party Saturday, but told me something interesting about the previous party given by the same person and having many of the same guests. SNARK ALERT!!! It seems that people at the party wanted to make sure that N knew about the situation with the x and the other woman. So people are still spreading the word about them. (Not at my request, I speak to or about them as little as I possibly can and still be polite). I wonder how they get the nerve to show their faces. They never stay very long - can't imagine why! They must know they are the most salacious gossip item that has ever existed among the people we know. And if they think I will let them drive me away from parties and friends, they have another think coming!
