I took care of ME yesterday, so I'm trying to take care of misc stuff today -- first priority is/was laundry, and I have a load started.
Next I did the teacher group reminder email, which involved some aggravation with printer -- "printer not communicating with computer" message. I do wish these two would get along! ;) Sometimes, for no apparent reason, they just stop speaking to each other. :P

Talk about routines being dependent on others... the first part of my day was taken up with L O N G conversation with dmom. She could not find her check register, and wanted to know if I had any idea what the $350 check was written for on her "rental account." I had written it, and I think she could see on the carbon copy that it was for that amount, but not who it was to. She suspected the plumber, and I was sure that I had not written that large a check to anyone else. Then there was much discussion about politics and gas prices (we have both filled up trucks to the tune of $100 in the past two days) and various other just catching up conversation.
FINALLY got off the phone and s2s, went to post office with dh, back home, started laundry and did the email.

I wanted to say, I miss all the SHEs y'all mentioned yesterday too!
And I loved Harriet's comment about her dd23 coming by & "instructed me on how to live my life."
But she's right, Harriet, you do need to think of yourself more often, I suspect.
(((HUGS))) for your ds with the cousin issues. So sad. I know I've talked about being "left out" sometimes, but they don't actively ignore me when I reach out. That is just rude -- and definitely the other guy's loss!

Blessed, you are always so cheerful! It brightens my day to see your posts!
Glad you and Rose are both recovering from the migraines. I have never had that kind of headache, I don't think. Lots of sinus headaches, but I don't think I've ever had a true migraine. My best friend's mother did a lot when we were little. Sometimes, she would just have to stay in bed, in a dark room, and my friend always said she was having a "sick headache." I know they must be awful.

Good for you, Rose, on putting it to the landlord as you did! I don't know how he expects to rent anything if he won't control the roaches! Ugh!

(((Dee))) IKWYM about the teeth expenditures, and my three crowns were just a portion of what you are dealing with! But yes, whatever you have to do to keep the teeth you have, my dmom would definitely say it is worth it. She will never be completely happy with her dentures, I suspect. She seems to take them out whenever she is home alone. Also (((HUGS))) for your dbil and dsisil and the many family concerns you've had lately.

LadyM, did you ever list all seven routines for us? I should try grouping/numbering mine also...
Each day I guess I already do (or generally I try to do):
1. Self-care (s2s, brush teeth, breakfast)
2. Exercise
3. Bible reading
4. Errands/dh
5. Supper plan/prep, s/s kitchen
I just need to add in a routine for daily focus, productive time -- whatever it may be -- laundry, cleaning, etc.

:!: * I did decide this weekend that I am going to give myself credit for the extra things I do. I wanted to be able to check off "productive time" each day, and I thought that had to be cleaning or working on something, but I am going to count the time I spend with dmom and/or dgrands as "productive" as well. Travel to College Town with dgrands is certainly more worthwhile to what I contribute to this world than vacuuming the den, you know? The most important thing in my life is my family, and particularly that I can make memories and be a good influence for these grandchildren. So I am no longer overlooking the importance of that time as being "productive." :!:

I can certainly relate to you, Mystery, and the time-sucking websites. My goodness, I sorta fall into a black hole when I sit down at the computer... it takes me so long to just compose a post like this. That is one reason I don't always reply to everyone here -- I just know that I have to limit myself with the time I can sit in this chair.

Nancy -- we are going to see temps in the 30s again Saturday! Well, that's the high. I think it is going to drop to the teens overnight AND we are to expect a "wintry mix." Just typical spring weather around here -- it is predicted to be 68 degrees Friday, then a high of 38 Saturday.
I like your "three a day" decluttering idea! WTG!

I'll be thinking on that song, Rose... unfortunately, most modern country music has lost its charm for me. When we are in the car, we listen to Willie's Roadhouse and Bluegrass Junction on satellite radio. We still listen to the Grand Ole Opry on Friday and Saturday nights, AM-650. On Friday nights, after the Opry (9:00 pm) there is a very good classic country radio program that dh loves. People call in and make requests, and the dj (Jeff Hoag --sp?) plays a lot of stuff you never hear on regular country radio.

Well... the washer is beeping at me... must go...
Tomorrow is another day.

I "hear" Otis Redding on the dock. So, you won't want to go this derivative, but:

I'm sittin' here on the side of my bed,

with my feet hung over. So is my head. (oooohhh )

I spent a long day on a migraine,

but it still feels like my brain's made of lead. ( oooohhh )

Sittin' on the side of my bed, wastin' time.

HRH says it's not country enough because you've got to have a dog or a Mama for a country song, so he suggests a dog that feels bad, too.

Now he's singing, "headache in the morning, headache in the evening, headache at suppertime" so he's obviously lost the plot.

I got my glasses! The jury is still out, but I think I see subtle improvement. It makes my poorer eye feel tired, but optometrist thinks that is because of getting used to them. HRH likes the shape/look of them.

Question : were ya'll taught "Peter and the Wolf" as children? (symphony for children) The author was born in Ukraine in 1800s, so being mentioned lately, and also wrote the very familiar music for ballet Romeo and Juliet. Anyway, dd42 says no, she was only taught this by my mother, who had taught it at school years before having grands, so she thinks it was specific to my time of childhood, more or less, not hers. I definitely was taught in elementary school that Peter and the Wolf was a classic, universal children's lesson for learning about types of musical instruments.

Reading Nancy's post, I realize I need soup in the crock, bike that stays at one place, and a book in the mailbox.

I don't think I was. At least I don't remember anything about it.
DH went to a big city school, and he was taught about it in the 3rd or 4th grade. He said they read the book and attended a musical program about Peter and the Wolf.

I played in the garden and spent some time with a rabbit. The wind isn't blowing hard, so it is semi-comfortable to be outside even though it is chilly.

Dh and I were not taught Peter and the Wolf. We have each heard of it, but know basically nothing about it. :(

Love the song lyrics! No I wasn't taught anything about Peter and the Wolf.

New trend with brides these days: White tennis shoes all blinged out with sparkles and rhinestones. Yep!

Sorry for the migraines going around. I haven't had one for a couple years. Thought I was sliding into one a couple weeks ago and took something early...and slept through whatever and woke up fine. I get one about every few years, maybe. Never figured out why or what the trigger was. Know I never had these when I was younger. Must be old age.

I'm still working on my rooms. Emptied the dresser and boy was that an eye-opener. There is something about putting everything in one place all likes together to see what all we have. My piles were way too big. Like PJ's. I have a few I wear in the winter, and a couple things I wear over and over in the summer / warmer times. Then there are the ones I have that I just like in each category...piles of them. I like everything I have. Or I have a specific reason for keeping what I have...someone gave me this or that... So it was quite an eye-opener. Plus, when the space available is less, it seems like the quantity I have is bigger. Well, lots to think about. I don't like changing my routine...I had things set just how I like them and now my everyday routine is different and I feel all out-of-sorts. But I will get used to it.

I'm doing a hair treatment also. It'll last till after supper. I have that planned. Some bits from the freezer tonight.

Tomorrow is my first day of 6 to 7 hours of being the adult in the house for the boys' school. It is a big day for the youngest, with not only a full hour of science online live lesson but a speech therapy online session. Then, there's a list of 8 of his activities that are what "should" happen but aren't time sensitive and at least don't have a teacher's face expecting anything fast. DangerBoy is to help me get into the online classrooms, links, and take screenshots to prove some completions. I think the 3 oldest boys will be mostly self-sufficient, although needing some reminding, maybe. Throughout, the puppy needs various things to happen on time or we will have accidents and yelping.

I never got to go to a real performance, but I would credit Peter and the Wolf with my first understanding of an orchestra. The brave bird is represented by a single flute, the wolf by the french horns, Peter by the strings, and so on through the characters. So, you know which animals or humans are in the story at the time, and the story helps with remembering instruments, like a memorizing aid. A cheerful memory for me - it made children feel they were learning grown-up things, I think.

I'm doing a little better with my new glasses. Hopeful. Very tired left eye.

blessed, at first I missed that you had had a migraine, too. Glad you're over it.

Like Harmony, migraines for me could be a year in between or more now. Definitely think it's hormonal, but possibly also in the way foods affect hormones.

I cleared out another drawer in the ongoing organization of office/other.
