DH has been with his DMom since church ended.
I started to prepare macaroni salad to take to the potluck, but I abruptly changed my mind. It is dangerous for the body and the food won't last long in the 109 heat before turning bad. I made a command decision not to attend this event. DD11 agrees with me. DS13 still wants to attend but he is used to spending all day in the heat and thrives in it.
Sooo.....what to do with myself for the next 4 hours? Opportunities abound.

Re: Sunday in our village PWYC
Dh and I went fishing this morning. We both caught very small fish. Dh's was probably 6 inches long. Mine might have been 2 inches. Mine was a sun fish. It's the first time I have gone fishing in probably 3 years. I can't remember. There was a guy standing nearby (we were shore fishing) who caught a nice carp while we were there. The carp was at least 24 inches. Dh and I both had chairs to sit on. We left after we used up a dozen worms. Dh does all the real (LOL reel...) work as far as dealing with putting the worms on and taking fish off.
When we got home I went to that celebration of life that I thought was yesterday. Our neighbour's 31 year old son died unexpectedly a few weeks ago in a single car accident. He left behind a wife and 2 young children. I saw a LOT of people crying. I felt I should go as dh and I know the family, including neighbour's sister and her husband.
Edited to add that I forgot the most important part...
Supper! Spaghetti and sauce with meatballs. Leftovers tomorrow night.
