Dee, flights have had various unusual problems lately. There was a plane that had to fly around for 2 hours for no reason except to have less fuel on landing just in case full fuel might have caused it problems. I suppose that was an abundance of caution, which is a good thing. But those poor passengers, flying in circles seeing the same scenery! As long as everyone is safe, that's the main thing, certainly when the passengers are "ours".
Got good advice from one dgs about a gift for other dgs. That always helps. I wanted to be sure brothers would play with it together and not say it's babyish, etc., and he promises he would play with it if asked - "no kidding, Grandma, I will" - so I'm satisfied.
Dd42 had to call over asking for eggs because some she had turned out to be broken. Started to say go on in your brother's henhouse, he doesn't care, but of course it's hot out and she was in the middle of a recipe, so I just took her some.

Re: Weathering Thursday
Well, I was wrong about flight info out of D.C. DS-R is actually flying to St. Louis and then to Orlando. Unfortunately that flight now has also been delayed. I can only hope it won't end up being cancelled. Pretty sure he's on the way to St Louis. And of course dsonil who is picking him up has had to change his plans numerous times today. Think dd said she saw that this flight is due in at Orlando at 8:15 tonight. Well, the good news is Dsonil doesn't have to drive in rush hour traffic on I-4. I would think this flight would already be enroute to Orlando????

Dee: Remind me, could ds have driven there by now!?!
(Just kidding, but this is why I drove 1800 miles on my own in June while dh was away - I wanted to go to NS but I didn't want the hassles and expense of flying.)

Darn close to it, Kathryn! Not really, but I'm sure he'll have put more miles under his feet than he would have by driving. Guess Dsonil is on his way to pick him up in Orlando. DS had planned on being to Lakeland by 9:30 or so this morning and it'll be after that P.M. by the time he does get there. He could sleep on our bed tonight but I know it's not made up -sheets are clean and folded on the bed.
Trying to decide what to do for dh. He is incredibly tired today -after feeling the best he had in over a month yesterday. I'm more than concerned that his dr changed so many medications. One that I know will cause extreme tiredness is lack of potassium. He takes 3 every day and an extra 1 on Mon/Wed/Fri. When they checked his blood on Tuesday morning his count was down to 3.0 which I know is about the 'danger point'. Then the Dr. took him off his potassium. So I (and dd agrees) arbitrarily gave him 2 potassium pills just now. He normally would get 3 tomorrow which I plan to give him. If he's feeling much better we'll know it's the potassium. I'm not one to go against Dr's orders but......As a matter of fact his cardiologist said Tuesday he wants him back on his 81mg aspirin absolutely. Then his GP told him not to take it. And we're still waiting for his Gastro Dr's office to call with an appointment for a scan -to see where he's been bleeding. Arrrggghhhh!!!!
Sometimes I don't think our medical community is any better than yours, Kathryn.

Dee - can you call Gastro Doctor to ask when his appt is? Maybe trigger them to get it scheduled?
I am feeling excited and grateful about finding a well-planned Computer Tech class for DS13 to take this school year. It is online and self paced. I have entered these class lessons in DS13 google calendar until the end of October. I am slowly getting DS13 homeschool lesson plans gathered. I hope by the time school starts to have his lessons planned through the end of semester (Christmas). There is a good chance I won't make that goal, but I can always dream!
I signed myself up for an online 30 day class that starts on Saturday. I will be doing a deep dive into Data Driven Fasting. I will be using blood glucose testing to direct when/what I eat. The instructor is the same as the previous class I took on Macros. I like his fact-based lessons that build upon each other.
DD11 has finished Phase #1. Everything is out of her bedroom and closet. It is a completely empty room. She finds it interesting that her room has echo effect now. We are going in the morning for her to pick paint color.

Re: Weathering Thursday
That airplane trip is crazy! I hope he gets there ok. I'm also glad it isn't me. I think DH would be blowing a gasket about now.
Yesterday I dragged out the Miele vacuum and cleaned the inside of the car, mostly the front seats and floor. I did the back seat and the cargo space in the back in June, it still looks good.
Today I carried out the ladder and fixed the entry arbor. Grape vines were all over the place and we could barely get through there. I had to cut some of them off and re-routed the rest of them. Gathered up all the cuttings and got them out of here. We've never gotten grapes from these vines. DH thought we could get some and wanted them. No, that's not what grows in Florida, especially this far south. I don't like them, they are weedy looking. Someday they will be GONE!
Leftover meatloaf for dinner. Glad I don't have to cook. It's too hot.
DH is waiting for his gastro dr. to call with appointment. It's pretty routine and not urgent, though he keeps asking about it. It's been at least several weeks that we've been waiting. I could call myself, but I am a bit overwhelmed with things so have dragged my feet on this end. He is busy with this job of his and that's tough in this heat... and there's all the prep he would have to do... Right now he is fixing a compressor that won't work, the parts came yesterday, and he's put them in after grinding and welding and who knows what else...but still hasn't plugged it in to try it. Fingers crossed.
Time to jump in the shower.
