I evidently was overly ambitious earlier. I washed the tops of several items on our deck. Later my back really started bothering me so I sat. Usually if it bothers a short rest is what I need. Obviously not so today. That was several hours ago and I can barely move. Hoping this goes away overnight at least.
Waiting for dh to come back from the shower and then we're going to friends for a cookout. Hated going because I have absolutely nothing to throw together. They kept telling me not to bother that there was plenty of food. BUT I still feel strange going without anything.

I installed a couple more apps (groupme & ring) that I routinely use on new laptop.
SUV troubleshooting continues.... I thought maybe a light was left on in the SUV and drained the battery, so I looked at the camera video for 12 hours before I discovered it was dead. Everything looks normal.
The tractor pull starts at 6pm so we will eat at the fair tonight again.

LadyM my ex inlaws had travelled to more than 100 countries before XMIL died. I doubt that they ever went to a pig, cattle, horse or any other type of animal show other than (possibly) a bull ring. I also doubt they ever went to a rodeo or horse race. It just wasn't their thing. They both grew up in cities. My XMIL wasn't the type to want to go anywhere that might have had the slightest odor. To my knowledge they never had any pets and she didn't "trust" cats. Said they were evil. She also said that dogs were dirty. I missed out on a camel ride because she said they stunk and that they were full of fleas. After that proclamation, my X refused to let me ride the camels. (He has since apologized.)

Re: Saturday PWYC
I remember the smells at the county fair when I was a kid, and the smell when we visited a farm. I've used many outhouses and was always afraid I'd fall in.
I did that round. I am worn out. I think I'm going to piddle a bit more and clear off counters where I can, and use up the rest of that roll of drawer liner.
I needed the stretching.

My bs tanked, did not take a reading till after so I had my meal Rx after, then vacuumed knew it was safe.
I swept & mopped earlier so the floors are done yea!
I cleaned up the kitchen after my morning cooking adventures.
We had some thunder & it rained a bit to clear the smoke out some. Glad for that.
Then it warmed up again.

Headed home. Just as the 4th quarter started we went into a weather delay — lightning within 8 miles of the stadium. Before we got out of the concourse, it started POURING down rain. We got our ponchos on and PRAISE THE LORD — the bus was parked right outside our gate. (Usually it’s a pretty good walk even for the handicapped bus. They have golf carts that will take you from the bus drop off right to the gate, but the wait is usually more than dh wants to deal with.)
So — we have wet feet but we were winning pretty good when the rain came and we’re kinda glad to leave early.

Re: Saturday PWYC
At the fair tonight a lifelong friend introduced me to a couple who just finished the adoption of one of their grandchildren. They were eager to visit with me about our experiences with adopting our grandchildren and raising them. This couple is older than DH and I and their adopted grandchild just turned 3 year old. They will be 80 years old when he graduates from high school. (I will be 73 when DD11 graduates from HS). We both agreed it isn't an easy situation to be in. It felt a bit weird to instantly bond with a stranger.
DS14 stayed at the fair. If he isn't home by 10pm, then we will go back and get him.
