Looking in….

So happy to see you back Kathryn … I have dearly missed you!

And what great news that Elizabeth may be back as well.

LadyM … I feel for you and your dh. Know how stressful this can be. My mom still remains bedridden with little communication with the world.

Sweetie and I decided to visit the Miami Zoo today. We rented a bicycle shaded cart and peddled around the zoo for three hours. We had a great time but I bet my body will have something to say about it tomorrow

We still have no electricity yet, but heard we should have it by this Saturday. Great knees but it still means we will won’t have any internet. We’ve met so many people here where we are staying and also at the zoo who all live within 5 miles of us. Several left Cape Coral in the middle of the night the day of the storm. We thought about it but we’re afraid of getting caught in the middle of the storm in our car. One couple is still waiting to hear about their friends who stayed in an area that was destroyed. Their crushed car was found but no one was in it.

They were telling us that he is a PT guy who has many clients that live on Pine Island. He was there working with them the day before the storm and many of them said they were going to ride out the storm, as you can imagine he is very concerned about their well being. This was one of the two islands that were totally destroyed by the storm. Pine Island is also home to many shrimp boat owners and workers and they also told he that they had lived and worked on the island for 40+ years and had no intentions of leaving.

As of now the loss of life between Ft Myers, Sannibell Island and Pine Island is already at 50 and they expect the toll to climb higher.

I’m glad that Harmony made it through …she was on my mind the entire time of the storm because we were able to follow the path by radio

So glad to hear things are going well for Elizabeth! Maybe she’ll get back to us soon!

Praying for the Lord & LadyM family during this difficult time… (((BIG HUGS)))
And my goodness, extra (((HUGS))) for the unwanted excitement!

Kathryn, I’ve been rushing around all weekend with crazy ballgame travel and Nana-duty, so I don’t know if I’ve even expressed how happy I am to see you posting more often! And so happy to hear of all the dgrands are doing.
I guess the Covid vaccine is kinda like the flu vaccine has always been, right? Just a shot in the dark as to whether they hit on the “right” virus that will come our way. DH and I always get flu shots in October, the week of our anniversary and ds’ birthday, so this year, we plan to add the Covid shot too. (We both had the two shots last year plus one booster, but that is all we have had.)

(((BIG HUGS))) for blessed’s dd, too. It has to be sooo hard to be the main caregiver for someone with dementia. I can’t even imagine how I would ever be able to handle that.
My cousin, who is my age (well, seven months younger) is in the midst of this now. Just brought her dad home from the nursing home. I think she has a daytime caregiver for him, but she stays with him at night. They live next door to each other, but I know it is a huge strain on her, and I really don’t know how she is holding up through all this.

Glad you’re feeling better, Nancy!

(((Cathy & dh))) So sorry about your dfriends.

Take time to take care of yourself, Dee… y’all have really been under a lot of stress lately. Sorry about your dsisil, also.

(((Rose))) for all y’all are dealing with, along with your concerns about your dmom.

Well, Twins asked what was up for this Monday morning? For once, I have been BUSY.
AND I have a ta-da! NO INTERNET/NO PHONE etc. from wake-up time till I was completely s2s, morning routine DONE.
AND DOUBLE POINTS because I increased my morning exercise routine.
So… that’s one in a row. I will diligently be trying to keep this going, because I honestly have felt better today.
Dmom called and I exercised while I talked to her.
Then I had to make a couple calls and I tidied the den and put away my hanging laundry while I was on those calls.
Then s2s, etc…
Post office… paid two bills…
Dropped off one bill at the local radio station; he doesn’t supply envelopes. (We donate to his costs for college football talk show & games.)
DH’s haircut
Bank 1 in Next Town
Bank 2 (dealing with a savings certificate, transferring to our regular bank.)
Oil change
Dmom’s house (got info so I can schedule a refrigerator repairman online for her)
Supper at cafeteria near dmom’s house… and my goodness… I am *stuffed*! (Large serving of pork roast, mashed potatoes, cornbread, and mmmmm… a slice of Italian cream cake.)
Home – cleaned dh’s shower & s/s toilet, started laundry…

Four minutes to go on this load and when I get load 2 started, I’m going to rest a a bit. Still trying to finish that e-library book!!!
