I have walked ddog.
Called the furnace people the guy just left pilot lite is lit and filter is changed furnace has been checked over and is good yea!
I had been cooking and did not notice that it was not lit. May have been turned off when he did a/c repair this summer.
Next batch of hand pies are in oven / drat forgot the cheese oh well a new flavor.
Need Rx before lunch. At least I have a plan. x

I did dust a bit in the living room.

It is a beautiful autumn day here -- after a stormy night (nothing serious, just rain & thunder). Rain was much needed. No frost here yet, although they are predicting low temp of 33 next week. DH said no one wants to predict freezing temps, so they are all saying 33. LOL.

Nancy, thanks for the encouragement. I actually am feeling a little better today, I think. I'm very frustrated and aggravated -- I was sooo looking forward to these three weeks with no ballgame trips, and I've already spent half the time sleeping!
Of course, when we do the ballgame weekends, that really only takes Friday & Saturday; I shouldn't complain -- I still have 5 out of 7 days to do what I need/want to do around the house.

Today's #1 goal: Color my hair! Goodness, it is overdue.
#2 goal: Iron dh's clothes.

Current situation, ddil is sleeping in ds' old room, ds is talking to dh but will soon be taking a shower here. Their house is totally overrun with yellow jackets! Pest control people came out yesterday and thought maybe they had them killed. Nope. Just made them mad, according to ds. So -- pest control people are coming back today and will fog the house & attic. DS/family need to stay out of house for 4 hours.

I think of Lynlee often, too, blessed. I hope she is okay.

I am actually able to head outside - darn it started pouring as soon as I went outside - again! I have to change my day around. it says it's 50 but the weather channel says it feels like 43 and I think they are right. I don't mind working in the cooler temps but cold rain is a different thing.

Twins: The pfizer is the better of the two bivalent vaccines at the moment. So it is good that he got it.

Tuesday was my first Moderna (dh has a complete set). I had planned on mixing it up in the spring with Moderna but my appointment was cancelled due to an ongoing power outage at a clinic and my local pharmacy could fit me in as long as I was willing to take pfizer.

I could have waited a few weeks and figured out how to get the pfizer once it is distributed here (update: apparently some appointments are available at one pharmacy chain as of next week) but I do childcare for hospital workers so didn't want to wait since my spring booster is basically no longer effective.

Speaking of not effective....

I got moving after my last post, hung up a load of laundry to dry and was just settling in to do paperwork and my sister called. Sigh.... I did get dusting for cobwebs, dusting lamp shades and misting plants done during the call, plus a bit of tidying. But that wasn't what I expected to get done in those hours.

And now I'm overwhelmingly sleepy so will take a nap for 30 minutes and then reboot my day.

Thanks for all info on the Covid vaccine. Yes, Twins, dh has been taking Benadryl. He takes a Benadryl at bedtime along with 1 T ylenol PM to help him sleep. (How's that working for you? Not very well unfortunately.) In fact I'm thinking about taking a Benadryl tonight to see if it helps me sleep. Seems like I tried it early on and don't remember it working for me. But it's worth a try. I can remember my GP telling me years ago to take it after I had a heart attack.

PITA customer has my car until Monday morning. She has an appointment to get her muffler repaired at 9 a.m. on Monday. Both of the other customers were looked after by dh. I used dh's truck to go and get some errands (banking) done. We have a branch of a bank that has been in Canada for a very long time. Their parking lot doesn't have a truck-friendly parking lot. The other bank is new-to-town and has a massive parking lot. Lots of room in their parking area. Dh has basically told me to go to knitting tomorrow and Saturday and "Please take the truck!"

Earlier today he asked me to make him a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. I did that and took them out to the garage for him. A little while later he came in and thanked me for the French toast. He has never ordered or eaten French toast in front of me in 8 years because he doesn't like it. Another entry for the journal. We had a discussion last week about his short term memory.

DH, DD11 and I spent a couple enjoyable hours walking paths with a lake on one side and our version of a mountain on the other side of the path. The weather was in the high 70's with bright sunshine so we all broke a sweat while enjoying the quietness of only hearing nature sounds. On the way home we visited an ice cream shop we had never tried and indulged in their handmade treats.

The instant pot cooked our supper while we were gone. I'll make a salad to go with it and call the meal prep done.

Well, my hair is nicely colored again, and dh said there was no need to iron— he doesn’t foresee being able to leave the house anytime soon. He is very depressed about this. At least dgrands are here tonight. They always help him get his mind off himself.

I have another load of laundry going right now, and one more to go. Oh — and MUST change sheets!!! But I plan to do that Saturday.

I’m eating normally now, but stomach is still cramping.

Nap didn't work.

But I'm awake now and dh is in bed.

Ds texted and asked if dgs1.5 could nap here on Monday (another dental appointment.) I said OK. There goes my heavy housework day. Dgs is also here on Saturday and then 2 nights the following weekend, to shorten the driving for me to cover the final dental appointment.

Dh cooked and I cleaned up the kitchen after. Just had some tea and now will head to bed. If not to sleep, then to listen to podcasts.

Tomorrow is another day.

Morning….

Normal start of the day although I didn’t sleep well last night. Not sure why. Routines done and I am now waiting on Sweetie to gather his tools together. There is a large tree/shrub we want to cut down.

Funny story… Sweetie and I were both tired yesterday so we decided to take a nap. Just as we were about to fall asleep I poked Sweetie and said… I think today is our wedding anniversary. He looked at me and said… oh yeah I think you’re right!

We kissed, wished each other a happy anniversary and went back to sleep. We had a great laugh over it and later found a place to eat. Remember due to the storm most places are still closed.

The anniversary we always celebrate is the day we reconnected, so our wedding one is sometimes hit and miss. We have been married 13 years, but come Feb 2 we will have been together for 23. I mentioned that 13 is my lucky number and hoped this year would be better than this past. We talked about all the things we’ve had to do this passed year with all the moves and selling and buy a new home an my moms illness and Sweetie then said… and we topped it off by experiencing and surviving a Cat 4 hurricane. Icing on the cake!

We now know the winds at our home registered topped 150+ miles an hour. Something to add to our history books
