We're plodding along here, and emphasis on PLODDING in dh's case. This gout -- in BOTH feet -- really has him down. He has not been out of the house since Monday, I think, and he was really getting stir-crazy. Tonight, after he took a shower, he asked if I'd drive if he could get out of the house and just let him see something besides these four walls. So we rode around for a good while, maybe 45 minutes, listening to high school football game, and we stopped at S*nic and got drinks (and ice cream for me.) DGS is here tonight because ddil has plans with dgd and a friend tomorrow, and they are leaving early. PLUS -- ddil and dgd are spending the night at the other grandparents' house because the yellow jackets are STILL active in ds/ddil's house!!!
They had one of the oldest and largest pest control companies in our half of the state come out and fog the house (including the attic) yesterday. They had to stay out of the house for four hours. DDIL went in this morning after work and saw three flying around. They know where the yellow jackets are most active outdoors (around the upper flashing above their bedroom window) and they have seen them crawling into ceiling light fixtures... so WHY can't the pest control company get them all KILLED???
DDIL is just about crazy.

Anyway... I went to the funeral for dcousin's dad. Afterwards, filled up the car, went to the drug store, paid a couple of bills, and came home to find dgs here with dh.

A good eye appt today with the ophthalmologist who watches my eye that had the event that caused my gray cloud. As usual, he sees no reason I would have anything further go wrong. Goodness knows his exam was long enough, plus imaging. Happily, I have better eyesight on the chart for both eyes. The right eye just in general, with no explanation. The left likely because I am becoming adept at the eye-gymnastics I have to do to locate-read-locate-read. (When I look at something too directly with the left, it disappears into my cloud, so I only have a second.) Peripheral of the left eye is still all there and can be 20/20 with glasses.

HRH and I stopped by the local family-style restaurant and ordered side dishes for take-home. I had okra, collards, potatoes, slaw with a hush-puppy. Very good. We watched the newly dropped Great British Baking Show episode while we ate. We'd gotten up so early for the appt and this dr is so far away. And sort of stressful waiting for two different scans, plus they were running behind. So, we both ended up napping!

I only got my new glasses in March, but that was before my last eye-chart exam. So now I don't know what to think - maybe I'm supposed to go back and get a new prescription?

DcousinMary called and we caught up on all our news, staying on the phone an hour.

LadyM, that sounds like a wonderful day especially craft show.

blessed, that four-letter word does come up sometimes! lol! HRH has become such a calendar expert. He works on our calendaring faithfully and often, so it allows us to look at what's spread before us with a less stressful visual. I am still keeping up with my planner, and it's the first year in so long that I've done so - downright unusual! I do write 3-most-importants in there, or thoughts for next week, but there's only the spaces allowed, so it's naturally limited. I like being reminded not to over-goal.

Cathy, I hope you get your car back soon - very generous.

Twins', yes glad you had an easy appointment.

lucylee, I had missed that it is gout definitely for the foot pain. Tart cherries are good for it, or as convenient capsules or juice. HRH used to suffer terribly. So glad that's over for him. Dd24 had hurt her foot recently and someone asked if it could be gout, and she fully explained gout to them, why she knew it wasn't, etc. That's how much it was dominating her Daddy's life when she was a young teen, I guess. Btw, you can tell your dh that dd explained : "it's so painful it would hurt if someone just opened a door, and a breeze blew across the foot". That would be funny except that HRH really used to say that!

YES, Harriet, that is exactly how dh would explain it! And he LOVES having dgs here... but sometimes, in his excitement, dgs gets too close and bumps his foot and OWWWW!!! Weeping and gnashing of teeth.
He does have some cherry juice -- I will make sure he is drinking it. This is the worst he has ever had it, and it is so strange that the last "worst" case also followed a stomach virus. I can't imagine how there could be a connection, but it is a strange coincidence. We remember because we halfway joked that it was hard for a man who couldn't walk to get to the bathroom as quickly as he wanted to!

Oh -- I meant to send (((HUGS))) to blessed, also! SHELDON is absolutely driving me CRAZY. I have to set out his breakfast dishes for the week... and help him get his medicines laid out... and I told him, a man who needs this much help should not be so PICKY. This goes HERE. No... not there... put it a little further over... Persnickety. Yes.
