hello again
I still haven't cleaned up visual clutter but that is next.
wrapped many presents and put in bags for my one d sis in laws house for Christmas Eve.
spoke to d brother and now we know what to do - I just need to tell dd younger.
it was a hard morning for dd younger, with d mom, so I will give her some time to do her work.
still waiting for church to call and mom's dr. to call. I figure it will be tomorrow or the next day. updated d mom's notes. d brother said not to update him but I find if I don't then people get frustrated bc they think things aren't being done. I am keeping track of everything in a notebook.
I am so so tempted to continue wrapping but I won't bc I have ladies coming tomorrow.
next: room by room put away.
check off presents that have come in and put all in one place.
I usually need to take a picture so that it is a tickler for my memory.
Wow! It is Wednesday!

Re: Wow! It is Wednesday!
I had a family member that used google calendar for family planning stuff it worked for them.
I am happy to say next set of sheets is in the dryer and the sun has come out fog lifted and that does help the mood.
Got the dishes done and need a plan for dinner now.
Got a few more rows on the stripped hot pad I am making up.
Snowin the forecast later in the week.

Re: Wow! It is Wednesday!
My brain is going to explode. Just got a bunch of new knowledge dumped into it. Very useful knowledge both for the short term of what is due next week and in the general long term. But holey moley! So much crammed in at once. I made a list of the immediate plans. The good news: I had 28 items on my list at payroll for the immediate project. There are 3 left to do, all with a plan. There are 5 that will be worked in if time permits, and I will try my darndest to make time permit.
My office is wretchedly cold. Just like all the other offices in the building that I know of except for one (no, not the boss's office). Many of us are wearing coats. Except that one (not me) is wearing a full parka. The powers that be used to allow space heaters if you had an approved type. Now they don't. I hate winter.

Elizabeth, pondering office-wear that helps with cold... .. hmmm. There are those who swear by comfy cozy underwear. I would think that thick socks and serious, rubber-soled shoes would help; love my Skechers Sports. A hairdo that includes a hair band to cozy ears? We used to wear soft wide hair bands in winter when I was a teen, and they were only attention-getting if we wanted. I always thought of them as defensive against chills! Scarves that have a little heft to them? Warm thoughts!
Waving back to blessed.
The 4 children are in a conferencing text regarding our Christmas get-together which looks like Fri before the day at dstepson's house, the newest house. I knew ds was particularly determined his brother should host this year, because ds' in-law family had been at their house for every get-together all year long and more.
So far, with all but dd24 weighing in and eight potential food dishes promised, only a veggie tray is something HRH and I can eat. Sigh. I'll have to step in and start saying what dishes we could bring just so we can have things on our plates. Good grief. I had wanted to bring a fun dessert, but just rescuing the menu becomes the priority.
I've been talking to myself for years, I guess. They just forget - they are so busy, of course, and just feeding the households is goal enough some days, I'm sure.

Re: Wow! It is Wednesday!
Progress:
Harriet: hang in there, I'm going to allow myself to be distracted and will post some pictures somewhere so you can see what I've done to enjoy my favourite ornaments this year.
Nancy: Our family swears-by Google calendars. Each family uses them and allows access to dh and I (and the kids have full access to ours.) It means they see all our doctor's appointments, and dh's travel, my preaching, when I'm babysitting the other kids, which nights I have meetings or days I have activities, etc. etc.
We can see the same on their calendars including where ds and TG's work schedules, but also other things like dog obedience classes (which means ds will be in the city.) Dd's family doesn't do as much but I can keep an eye on dgs6's occupational therapy appointments and try and keep that time available if dd needs a backup that day.
Notice how I've left paperwork to the end of the day?!Goals for the day:
1. Get all the rest of the decorations in place
2. Get all the bins downstairs to the locker.
3. Organize paper work.
4. Walk to pharmacy and pick up prescription. I'm not sure why I have it, I might have triggered it accidentally when looking at my account but I have 25 weeks left on my existing batch. Thankfully, expiry date won't be an issue.
5. Bank and Grocery shopping (I don't need much so can carry it home in the backpack.)
6. Phone calls to arrange Lobby Christmas Tree decorating (and possibly permission for a Christmas Party.)
7. Email to residents about date of lobby Christmas Tree decorating (and hopefully Christmas Party.)
8. Phone my contact about the Christmas Eve Service
9. Finish writing my Christmas newsletter contribution and pick some pictures for it.

Re: Wow! It is Wednesday!
Thank you, Kathryn. I have 2 clear globes from a gift from the young man's mother a few years ago and haven't known how to use them well. This looks like a plan for those. Even using small plain ball ornaments to fill them part way and support a few larger, meaningful ones.
Told HRH about the menu choices for our get-together so far and he said, nope, can't eat those. I've thought of just telling the children we will bring "a vegetable dish": words which should blend in with how they've stated the menu. But I'd really bring my own favorite large casserole with many veggies and rice, topped/decorated with half-cherry-tomatoes. It can look very festive, and I know WonderBoy, our veggie lover, will enjoy it. If anyone else thinks it's appetizing and likes it, the more the merrier. But at least it could be a substantial part of a plate.
Thought of also taking my "millet loaf" that is really quite tasty, especially with my dmother's classic sweet-and-sour tomato sauce topping, which the children should remember from many meals. It bakes at the same temp. We'll see. That might be a little too obviously health-food.
I don't want to start a whole conversation about our way of eating/dietary needs again, when everyone just wants to have a good time.
