For our New Year's meal, I made a cake of cornbread today and steamed the fresh collards bright green, adding balsamic vinegar. I had black-eyed peas, but HRH wanted pintos and onions, so we shared all. Also, brown rice with the peas. I sent the kids a photo of my plate.
Dd42 and her dog did a first-footing this morning. She said she only got into soggy ground once.
DangerBoy said the canned greens they had were so limp : "these are like seasoned water". lol I don't know what type they had.
I had seen the idea of no food purchasing for a month reported elsewhere. I don't think we could do that - we eat too much fresh. Also, the fridge/freezer is small. I already limit by my daily dozen and limit by trying not to eat too much processed added to that. Don't think I could add on more restrictions.
Dee, what a day! Glad ya'll got all of that out of your systems! (smile) Tomorrow is sure to be downright graceful!
Nancy, sorry you and dog are bothered by so much fireworks. It's not even the classic time of year for them, really. I did hear some last night but they were brief.
Ramblin', that's kind of you to give to the dog shelter. You really got a lot done today.
Happy lucylee's dmother is home.
