Late check-in for me, been reading here some during the day but no time to post.
Also, trying to give up phone * while in room with dh * for Lent. I'm not trying to be 100% with this, but it annoys dh sooo much when I get engrossed in my phone and he realizes I haven't heard a word he has said. I know that is very rude, so I am trying to be more "present" when I am with him.
Today, I just haven't felt on top of my game... went out and got oil change done and it was kinda cool outside, more than I expected. When I got home, I just couldn't get warmed up, and I tried to take a nap, but ds called...
then it was time to get supper...
then we ate and I finally did take a nap.
Stomach has been kinda "off" all day too.

DS said they took dgd to the doctor this morning and then she went on to school -- no fever, etc. Doctor's visit was because of a Plantar wart on her foot. She's been complaining about her foot all week. But doctor said both kids may have had a slight case of hand/foot virus, which would account for the fever they both had Monday. No rash though, so doctor said they wouldn't be contagious at this point.
My goodness I hope not -- dgs will be with us all weekend! (College Town, basketball game. We only have 3 tickets so dgd is not going to get to go. DDIL said she thought that would be fine. DGD doesn't know yet, so I hope so. We will tell her next time we only have 3 tickets, she gets first refusual. ;) )

In other medical news, dmom finally made an appt to see about her knee -- Baker's Cyst, I believe it's called. That same day (next Wednesday) she found out she has an appt with the surgeon who did her first surgery, at hospital where ddil works. I don't know how it came about that she thought to call them, maybe they called her? Anyway, she can do both (on her own, she says) and they are located within a couple blocks of each other.
Somedays things seem easy. Other days I struggle even when I'm giving my best effort.
So true, LadyM! This has been one of those "other days" for me!
I did get all the laundry done, except one pair of navy blue pants. Still need to fold and hang a few tops to dry.
Also got our clothes packed for tomorrow.
And dried out dh's shower.

BTW -- I'm so glad LadyM & LordM got some time to themselves today!

Nancy -- IKWYM about pants! Tight/loose/this size/that size... :?: Whew. I love Lee jeans, relaxed fit... but other than that, it's a toss up as to what is going to fit and feel comfortable.
I also admire your writing consistency. It has come to my mind that I really must go through and cull/shred/burn a BUNCH of stuff I wrote in high school. In the event of my death, I do NOT think I want ds and ddil reading all my sad poetry about Other Guy. I don't even want them reading all the ups and downs of the story of my romance with dh!

Twins, so far, I only have 3009 steps, and I'm pretty sure that's accurate. (This is on my apple watch.) See nap/stomach issues above. But it's a while till I'll go to bed, so maybe I can get my second wind and add a few more to that total.
And YES -- YES --
I'd love to have my room upstairs repainted but couldn't imagine moving enough stuff to get to all the walls.
Y'all, this is beyond embarrassing, but nothing inside our house has been painted since we moved in... 38 YEARS AGO. The carpet has not been changed since we moved in... 38 YEARS AGO. I am getting really, really tired of this fact, BUT... oh my goodness... the idea of moving furniture and everything, with dh unable to help, is almost as daunting as the thought of what it would cost. But it IS pretty sad.

Mystery, our pastor has done mission work in Latvia and has suggested a sort of pen-pal exchange with some of the Christians in the Ukraine. I am considering getting involved in that.

(((HUGS))) for Rose & Sweetie.

Cathy, we are expecting storms tomorrow too. Schools are cancelled all around our area -- partly because of high wind advisory and an abundance of caution re: high profile vehicles -- such as school buses.
I hope it doesn't affect us all the way to College Town in our Tahoe.
Also -- we expect, but haven't heard yet, whether dgs' batting practice has been cancelled. We hope so, because if it is, we can leave early... but if it's not, we can't leave till 5:00 pm, which puts us getting there around bedtime. DH doesn't really want to do that, but it is what it is.

So glad dd had a good first day, Harriet! She'll figure out the dress code soon.

(((Harmony))) I can't imagine ANY neighbors having a bad impression of you two! (Sympathy, maybe...)

Kathryn, I know y'all will work out all the details with Ken's surgery so everything falls in place, and it will be SOOO good to have this over with!
(((Prayers))) for speedy recovery!

And also glad to hear Mr. Dee is showing improvement.

So -- tomorrow & Saturday, College Town for me... Sunday, the usual crazy-busy Sunday with two dgrands... Monday, church meeting... Tuesday, check-up with family doctor... MAYBE Wednesday will be my day of rest?

Hello. I'm the caboose here. Last to come in. It's been a busy day.

I'm getting caught up but my goodness what a lot of work. I'm bushed.

Put my LOL in before I left for the supermarket, thinking I'd deal with the stuff I hang up when I come back. I had 2 stores to go to with returns from our tank work. One was that big pump DH thought we might use so that was heavy. I didn't want that expensive thing to hit our statement. First store was fairly quick. Next store was a zoo. There was so many returns sitting around not collected and removed from the area there was almost no room for people to enter and line up. I'll bet I waited 40 minutes there. After the 2nd store I noticed that DH had put a big stick of wood he wanted returned - somewhere - and I had no receipt. sigh..I wish he would have told me before I left.

Supermarket was crazy. I had so much stuff in my cart that when I rang them up in the self-serve area I couldn't put the bags back into the cart. I finally got it done but it was a struggle with several things on the bottom rung. Came home and DH saw me but kept on with his work on his weeds so I had to call him over to help. I had twice as many groceries as I usually do from a shopping. All that put away, I realized I'd forgotten to stop at the last store to buy milk. Went out again for that. I'd looked for the receipt for the wood and couldn't find it. I can't remember how many receipts DH has begun to lose recently. I think he neglects to take them from the machine.

He's not getting any better that's for sure. Recently he's tried 2 more OTC supplements, and of course none of them work. Wed. I reminded him to take his Rx and he complained about his memory and the supplements not working. We've had the conversation over and over about him getting some tests done to find out what we're dealing with and he continues to say no. This time he said, they won't be able to do anything about it anyway. And listen to this: this morning he went out to talk with someone who wanted some work done. ARRRRGH. Will he never learn? Good luck to RRose and Sweetie. I'll be thinking about you.

I got a letter from our business bank today and I am more than a little annoyed. They are merging with 3 other banks and the 4 of them will be under another name. I just bought checks for this bank. 480 checks was the smallest number of checks I could have printed and might last a decade. I'm really miffed about that. They weren't cheap either. I don't write many checks, most are done online. I just need a couple each month and a few to give DH if he's going to have to pay someone while he's out. He rarely does this any more either.

I didn't get my clothes hung up outside till 5:00. It'll be tomorrow afternoon till they're dry. I brought home a chicken so I didn't have to cook.

Well, tomorrow is another day, maybe it will be easier. I have my study in the morning.
