I've wowed myself by finding what appears to be the only descendant of a person who owned a family bible in 1986. Who knows if she has any idea what happened to it, but that's one search done. It could have ended up in an Illinois archive, or a VA archive, or been discarded, or long gone. Even if I don't find it, I can document that I've tried.

Thanks to all my going here and there, I have almost 10K steps. I'll hit it before bedtime; I just took ddog around the block.

Tomorrow I only have a workout, and dh and I will eat out, I hope.

Talked with dh for just a little while about an hour ago. He was already in bed. Told him DS-A was asking about him today. He said, "Yeah he keeps saying he needs his truck and comes out, but I think it's just a ploy to see how I'm doing." He did ask me if I had any idea when/how I'm coming north. Only wish I did, but I feel an answer is coming soon.

I finished the series I have been watching.
Got the scarf done I've been knitting on as well.
Took the dog out to potty.
It is quite breezy and my purple leaf plum is in bloom now so pollen is out a ackheoow!.

Got the rest of my steps in today took time to get the trash that blew to the end of the street picked up and walked back home and put it in the trash container. Then walked to the other end of the street and down & back as it was protected from winds and did half of that loop and back also more out of the wind there.

Had my dinner.

Just got off the phone with DS-R. First I've talked to him in a couple of weeks I think. Said he'd talked with his Dad but he thinks dh sounds 'disoriented'. That's the word DS-A keeps using too. Sounds like DS-R may just fly down to take my car back (and me with it I hope). Think I'd rather ride than fly at this point. I'm so confused and so on the verge of tears all the time. I know the 3 dks are talking with each other about all that's going on and we all seem to see things differently. I just need to be up there to see for myself I guess. It's definitely not an easy time. DS-R is busy with work and lacrosse season but really wants to do what he can for dh and me. Truth is I'd rather ride with him than with DS-A. I know DD would rather I flew, but I just keep looking at the fares and so unsure about how I'd manage up there if we don't have a car.

Nancy, that conveys ever so much more than a simple “achoo”! I hope you and your nose are better soon!

Hoping lucylee’s GI distress is also better soon!

Well, I did have one smidge of work today — while checking in to see if there was any update from the expert, I got an email from dfriend, who had a question from the artist. So I double-checked things, and she was right. When I’m through posting here (and, depending on the order of things, through watching today’s Jeopardy that I recorded when DH was at Scouts), I will hop back on the computer one more time to see if I’ve gotten a follow-up email from the expert. He’s a night owl — or maybe it just seems that way because he’s a time zone behind.

I am sort of a default night owl, but it’s mostly inertia. I don’t want to get out of bed in the morning, and I don’t want to climb the stairs to bed in the evening. If I could levitate through the ceiling, I’m sure I’d get to bed much earlier. I grew up in a ranch-style house and very much wanted to have the bedrooms on their own level when I grew up, but now, I’m kind of wishing I lived in a ranch house and not a colonial.

I hope your travel gets straightened out, Dee. It sounds like a plan is coming together. I’m sure things will be better when you and your DH are in the same place.

My DH is still not ready to watch Jeopardy, so I guess I will be hopping on the work computer for a few. Sweet dreams to all of you!

Dee: the two boys who can see your dh right now are in agreement. You and DD can't see him and how he's handling day to day tasks or conversations.

It is also possible that while with you and DD he got so bad that you are seeing him as being better than he was, and think this is "good." But the boys who weren't with you all the time in Florida are only seeing him compared to how he was last summer and fall and, despite improvements since a couple of months ago, he's not near as "good" as he was last summer.

Well my day did not end as I had hoped. On the other hand if I'm looking at the positive side, I'd have to rate it a WOW.

My desk is in better order and I have listed probably 85% of the stuff I should be getting done (the remaining 15% will come to mind in the next few days.) So creating a plan of action is possible now.

I got the vacuuming finished and the floors mopped. I also did the weekly kitchen chores.

I changed the vacuum cleaner bag and had dh fix the lid that goes over the accessory compartment (which broke off too many times so I was just leaving it off.) Not planned but done

I took down the blackout sheet over the patio door because we aren't watching projected movies right now. And I put up the shower curtain I use as a drape over the east window in the living room because it is getting hot in here so I need to block some of the sun. Not planned but done

I vacuumed the bathroom vents Not planned but done

I walked for 30 minutes 2x per day. (I have over 10K steps on my pedometer and 13K on my fitness watch.)

My meeting led to some progress in understand a gnarly issue I'm dealing with.

We had a nice dinner (reheating leftover casserole, which became a real gift to future me from past me since neither dh nor I felt like cooking tonight.)

Dinner tomorrow will be at the Seaway with ds and family. So that is planned and we don't have to leave until 3:30 so I can get a lot accomplished tomorrow.

What didn't get done was the desk chores (aside from cleaning and starting planning.)

So that will have to be the focus tomorrow.

I think I'll probably sleep well tonight!

DONE BUT NOT PLANNED here also.
Dmom cannot remember ANYTHING right now. I hope it is a temporary effect from anesthesia yesterday. She told me this morning that she would come out here when she came to town for her rx.
At 5:00 pm, she called to see if I had picked up the rx.
Shaking my head…
I told her I would be glad to get it and bring it to her; I knew she needed me to write a couple checks and get packages to mail to dbro, and the easter eggs for dgrands.
So off I go…

When I got there, I was just overwhelmed at all the mess on her kitchen table — I mean, papers (mail) scattered — no piles or stacks — just paper paper paper, about an inch thick over the entire table top. (It’s been this way for quite awhile, stuff has been piling up since she went in the hospital back in November/December. I just haven’t had time to deal with it. Tonight I thought, this is more important than church right now. Let’s put some feet to our faith, you know.)

So I asked if we couldn’t take some time to sort this out.
Two hours later, I left… with a Wmart bag full of papers to sort and prepare for filing. I also have file folders and her label maker, and another bunch of papers that need action (for example, making copies of ddad’s death certificate, activating her Belk card, etc.)
I told her not to expect 24-hr service, LOL.

She felt a LOT better about it when I left. She has been overwhelmed and felt too bad physically to deal with it. Her tabletop was 99% clear and I think she will put away the few files left out.

PLANNED BUT STILL NOT DONE :(
vacuuming
Laundry
Dishes in sink

And my stomach is still a mess.

Awww. I'm not much of a wow. Haven't even sat here to CUOP.

yesterday I happily posted something a little ominous about the day, I guess:

Lots of digging, water-toting and walking

then today, just putting some laundry from washer to dryer - t w i n g e ! :x

Poor back. ouch, ouch

So ever since then, nothing done but resting (I did nap) and pouting.
After a pain pill at two times over the course of the day, I feel better and am hopeful that tomorrow will be lots better.
