Well, here's our post-cardiologist appointment. The PA dh had was very good and explained all that would be entailed in doing the Watchman procedure. She's not all that sure that dh will be a good candidate given he can't take blood thinners (he's had internal bleeding with both that they have tried). She explained that this will not change his current condition at all but simply prevent a stroke from happening from blood clots which form in the heart. That mostly happens when Afib is present, but she said his EKG today did not show any. Now, when he saw his Primary last Wednesday, he said dh WAS in Afib????? At any rate she will have a conversation with the actual surgeon and get his take on whether he thinks dh can withstand this procedure. It's under general anesthesia and will take up to 2 hours and he'd be kept at least overnight at the hospital. Meantime she thought putting him back on Iron would be a good idea as he's still anemic. The question is I guess, should they just leave well enough alone and not do anything right now. Especially since he's seemed to stay out of Afib for the last 3 months. The internal bleeding has stopped some time ago so don't quite understand that part. The swelling he's experiencing is getting a little better but his weight doesn't seem to go down all that much. Which I guess is okay as he was getting too skinny. I do know he's very tired of being glued to his chair/bed. But right now he just can't do anything. It's tough enough getting him out of here and into the car or golf cart. But he just feels he has to get out and I don't blame him.
She wanted him to continue with the medicine regimen his Primary has him on. Which reminds me I guess I better go dig out that bottle of iron tablets.......
Pretty sure that "shake" place is probably S teak & Sh ake, Harriet? Know they're plentiful in FL.DS-A loves to go there but I too find it a bit much.
Helia, so good to hear from you. Sad for all that's been going on in your life though. Please do stop by once in a while and keep us abreast of your adventures and life.

Re: TUESDAY TA-DA'S
That's really great, Twins! I hope you do get it published! Congratulations on the certification.
I'm doing much better now. Counseling/ therapy has been really really good -- but also really hard. Sometimes, she gives me tasks that I am just clueless about, and I think my cluelessness is a bit of a red flag. LOL! So, she switches things up for me.
You're as busy as ever, Kathryn. I wonder what you will eat tonight?
Harriet! So nice to hear from you! I'm so sorry to hear that you've also lost your church community. It's a hard thing. I do continue to attend our small group at that church, and I'm even going to the Thursday morning moms group when I can. I do listen to our pastor's sermons as I can. He is a gifted preacher, and we have yet to find a preacher who matches his quality of sermons. On Sundays, we are visiting churches. We have a couple favs we've gone back to a few times, but none feels like a perfect fit, which is maybe nonexistent anyway. I'm sorry about your dd24's ferret. Dd27's rat had surgery 2 weeks ago to remove a tumor, and she has come through well-- but it was a bit touch and go for a day or so afterward. It's possible that fast food restaurant is a chain. There's one here, 2 words in the name, Shake is the first word. . . or maybe it's the chain that Dee is referring to. It's nice to hear of your children and grandchildren near you.
Dee! Nice to hear from you! Gentle hugs for you and Mr. Dee. I hope they decide on what is best for Mr. Dee.
You ladies are as interesting as ever!
I'm off now. I'm going to get in a jog before dinner. I think dh is cooking the main, chicken yassa. We have a lot of leftover sauce, and I think he's going to cook up some fresh chicken pieces for it. I'll make some roasted brussel sprounts.

Re: TUESDAY TA-DA'S
Dh and I ended up going to a pub in town. He had fish and chips. I had some beef in gravy with mashed potatoes.
It's pouring rain here. I called and ordered 2000 gallons to be delivered to our cistern, but they haven't shown up yet. One of their drivers lives on our street, and he usually gets here late in the day.

Re: TUESDAY TA-DA'S
Helia!!! It’s so good to hear from you!!! I’ve wondered what was going on with you and your family, and so happy for your ds! I am sorry about so many losses in your life — and when everything piles on at once like that, it is so hard. Please do keep in touch, and good luck with finding a new church family.
Kathryn asked a good question the other day — will I be able to keep up my daily focus when the computer returns?
Well, I don’t know…
Yesterday there was no focus because I spent the early afternoon with dmom and then went straight to dgs’ ballgame. I was just worn out when we got home from that.
Today, I had about a million errands (actually, 9 stops) and I thought I’d lost my focus again. However… I said, I will s/s the bathrooms while I’m getting dh’s shower dried off…
And now,
all three baths are s/s…
The boxes that seemed to be multiplying in the closet are thinned out by half and the “discards” are flattened and in the truck, about to be put in the recycling bin…
The box of clothes and two car seats are in the truck, about to be dropped off at thrift store…
And ds’s old Dixie Youth baseball shirt is back in the closet. (I had pulled it out to show dgs. Same team, same number.)
BTW — big Nana brag moment — guess who scored the winning run and was given the game ball last night.
Yep, my little autism spectrum boy. He got on base by walking, then stole 2nd, 3rd, and home. He was a happy young man.

Re: TUESDAY TA-DA'S
Helia: dinner became an argument. I chose not to go to Wendy's because I couldn't face going out in the traffic and all locations are to our south or west so we would have been joining rush hour flow. Dh refused to tell me what he wanted to have for dinner from the items on hand at home because he said he would just end up 'choosing wrong' (even though the plan was for us each to choose something to heat up from the freezer.) He ended up with single serving chicken pot pie, I had chicken nuggets (which is what I likely would have ordered if I was out.)
Lately, every trip out for fast food has been a trying experience because of the quality of workers these days. And the price for the 2 of us is now almost $30. Which seems like a real waste of money when we have lots at home in the freezer to quickly heat up.
When dd's in-laws were here they hosted a meal where we all ordered order from whatever fast food place we wanted. They went to A&W, Wendy's and McDonalds. Dh wanted broast chicken and went and picked it up (they paid him back.) All the apps required were downloaded and the orders put in for pickup. A&W didn't have the order on file when dsil arrived (even though it was prepaid) so they had to reorder everything in the app. When it was delivered, they delivered both (!) orders as the first order had finally been received by their system. To make matters worse, both (!) orders had the exact same mistakes in them! (That order ended up being 2x$55 because dd's dfil is too mild manner to make a fuss.)
A week later, dh and I went to Dairy Queen and it was terrible as well. Long wait for the food, my meal included an ice cream sundae which they offered to me 10 minutes before the order came (dh had them take it back so they put it in a cooler) and then they never gave me a cup for my drink. I had to wait 5 minutes standing at the counter before someone acknowledged me and got me a cup (and I had them get the half-melted sundae at that point since I didn't want to stand there a second time.) Service was slow for everyone so the lineup of people stretched right up past our table, so people were talking over top of us while we ate. When it was time to leave I had to physically push on someone to get them to move to let me out of the booth because saying "excuse me" as I stood up and gathered my things was not enough of a clue to move the eff out of my way.
Given these two expensive disappointments, I honestly don't want to eat out again at a fast food place unless I absolutely have to. But dh is apparently done with cooking now (he used to do ~75% of the cooking) so he wants to eat out all the time. I've been having to cook all our meals (even when I had covid) because he is seldom doing so unless I really push. If I give him the option between something I can cook and something only he can cook, he'll choose the item I cook. Last night he did cook dinner but the nights before it was mostly me (he helps a bit.) Even tonight I ended up 'cooking' that for him because he wasn't focused enough to put it in the oven.
I seriously think his brain is being starved of oxygen because he can't remember anything these days (including me saying after both the dinner with dd's in-laws and the DQ experience that I didn't want to go out to eat anymore.)
