Nancy, I hope ya'll enjoy your brunch.

Thanks, Twins' and LadyM - LadyM, it's so interesting that one of the things dd24 said she wanted out of a hard copy of her own was the ability to make notes in it and point to wise tips, etc.

I really liked (among the first batch you wrote) the part about trajectory being so important. I've always believed that it's the TREND that counts, especially in healthy habits.

The next tip/wisdom of links from previous to result make a lot of sense to me. (Well, I am not sure that clutter is a result of previous cleaning habits, because I really think a decluttering need is a completely different animal than a cleaning need, with different causes and different results.)

I asked dd43 if she'd ever read the book and she laughed at me - she says the only non-fiction she's read in years have been books I've given her. But, in her usual way, she instantly did some research on the book itself. For one thing, she found 70 potential copies within our library-reach-ability to reserve, and every single one of them is not only checked out, but there is a waiting list. She said for a 5-yr old book that's really something.

My first impressions are that it is written from a male perspective and a competitive perspective, with athletic betterment as examples. But dd24 says it is the general emphasis on recovery that stands out to her - being in a hole or rut and pulling out of it, making up ground through the tenacity of habits even if they are not large or impressive habits individually.

Anyway, I will tell her you two felt it was a good read. I'm enjoying it.

Vacuuming was the big chore today, along with kitty potty spiffing and handling trash and recyclable for the early trucks!

Had baked potatoes covered in black beans and corn for supper, homemade guacamole.

There’s a joke about the 1962 Mets, who had one of the worst records in MLB history:
Fan 1: Did you see the game last night? We scored 13 runs!
Fan 2: Did we win?

The Braves scored 13 runs tonight.
We did not win.
Lost to Arizona, 16-13.
This game took forever!

It is so nice to be back in our hotel, clean, DRY —
Noooo — no rain — just damp with sweat! I wish I didn’t sweat so much. TMI? I’m sorry.

Tomorrow we’re going to eat at the Varsity and go see Mission Impossible before tomorrow night’s game.
It’s nice to be in a hotel. It forces a person to take a break from the routines and just rest.

BTW — Harriet — I read Atomic Habits on the library app. I liked it, but LadyM is right — it was a lot of info. I made notes — but I’m not sure where they are right now! Another organization task for me I guess.
Tomorrow is another day.
