Kathryn, I'm so glad for you that the weather cooperated. We can all say now what a good mother-in-law you are!

Oh cathy, since I read your first post, this song has been swirling in my brain: I yam what I yam and that's all that I Yam (I'm Popeye the sailor man) toot toot!! Going back to my childhood for that one.

I guess I lost it this morning. Got up and my rash is so bad...it's taking all the band width in my head that I feel I just can't cope any more. First thing after I was up DH wanted to work on the atomic clock which needed a battery changed in the sending unit or perhaps in the clock itself... and I'd have to find the instructions in the file box and get more batteries out... and I was desperate for some quiet alone time. I showed DH the rash and asked him to take it easy on me. I just feel like I can't cope any more. So in desperation I called the drs. scheduling people and complained in earnest to the poor guy on the other end, one with a thick accent - almost unable to understand him - and he came up with an appointment with the nurse in that office. Don't want to see the nurse but I'm desperate so I agreed. I figured if I'm way over her head with this she'll ask the dr. in the back hall or something...I hope...I hope. Monday morning early it is.

I had to get all dressed which didn't make me happy. I've been wearing shorts and a pajama top, loose thing...but we'd made arrangements to go to lunch with former customer and her neighbor. I don't know why she keeps inviting us like this but we feel it is unfriendly to turn her down and we do have fun. Though I feel bad she keeps insisting on paying. She agreed next time we can treat which I must remember. She also had a shopping bag of gifts for us. This is getting overwhelming. Nice gifts too. A little box with 3 resin figurines about 6" tall, dressed in the cutest scarecrow outfits all decorated, a stand up sign which says "thankful & blessed" on 3 painted pumpkins, and a nice sized glass pumpkin made by Murano glass. Why is she doing this? She included a jar of mustard for DH who she knows uses it for his leg cramps! Why is she doing all this? Anyway, nice italian restaurant where I had loads of food and enough brought home for DH's dinner. I don't have much fall decorations so these will come out every year.

So, all I have to do is hold on till Monday morning and see if somebody medical has a solution for all this.

Tomorrow I go to get teeth cleaning. Another day I must get dressed. I will run any errands I need to do while I am out. sigh...I don't get any time off for good behavior around here.

Lucylee, sounds like a good idea to me. Glad DGS did not come home from the Dr. with a cast or a sling.

Oh, (((Harmony))) -- I am sooo sorry this rash is causing such trouble. I wish you could see the doctor before Monday! (((BIG HUGS)))

DGD goes to the doctor tomorrow about her psoriasis. The dermatologist is treating it with clobetasol propionate. So far, I've seen no improvement, but it's only been a week or so. The doctor tomorrow is her rheumatologist, and he will decide if he can cut back on her Humera or Methotrexate. I hate for her to have psoriasis, but OTOH, I'd hate for her to be back in the flare of arthritis where she can't walk or develops uveitis again, also. I know they are just walking a tightrope trying to balance her meds and keep her stable... and y'all, to see her, you'd never know anything at all was wrong with her right now. It's kinda amazing how well she's doing. A year ago, ddil was wondering if she'd need to get a wheelchair for times when she was having a bad flare.

So -- we went to the fall festival. Very nice. Lots of people we knew out there. DH told one of them, one of his former ballplayers, that if things don't pan out with our church next summer, we will be joining them. This guy told him we'd certainly be welcome.

While I was out there, I got a message on a FB post trying to give away dmom's landscaping rock. A good friend may actually want it. Dmom is offering it free to anyone who will haul it away. It's not the small pebble/gravel type -- it's the larger size, some about the size of the palm of your hand. Dmom can't possibly walk on it and to prune her shrubs or weed around them is just impossible.
I spent about an hour out there this afternoon and made some improvements, but we didn't put up any decorations for fall.

Spent FOREVER trying to send an email for that bobble head. Good gracious. I don't know WHAT the problem is, but it NEVER went through on my computer. Finally tried sending it on my phone, and now those people have two emails, one with no content -- I have NO IDEA how that happened -- and a message via A-river explaining what had happened and asking them to please try to work with what I sent.
I had this idea last year, but didn't get to it soon enough, and now I still think it will be a great gift... but not if they can't do it. My goodness.

Update on one of the vehicles we've "gone through" this week, as ddil put it.
Dmom's truck needs rear brake pads, calipers, maybe something else... but it should be ready tomorrow and cost less than $500.
(How does that sound, Cathy?)
We put all the tickets on the internet for sale and have already sold three. Got about the cost of one ticket for all three, but that's better than losing it all completely. If we sell the others, we'll lose money on them too, but not as much. DH is depressed that we aren't going, but he would be depressed down there surrounded by all the chaos, also.
