Prayers for safe travels and a safe home to return to, Rose... also remembering Dee's family, Harmony & dh, and my brother and dsil.
My brother is in the same town as Dee's DD. They're about 30-40 miles inland from Tampa. My mother is worried to death about them, but they think they can stay, and I suspect dsil is working at the hospital through all this. Dbro says their house can withstand 100 mph winds, so I am hoping the storm will lose strength when it comes ashore.
Today has been kinda a waste for me.
I did wash two loads of clothes -- well, not clothes -- towels, underwear, and sheets. I am sleeping on clean sheets (after putting the clean ones on at 1:00 a.m.
)
And I went to the book fair for dgd.
I went to dgs' ballgame, which we won, and which he did not play in, but that is okay -- it was a really hard game, and we truly did have to play against the referees tonight. I usually don't say that, but gosh -- I would love to see the total penalties called against us vs them. I told my cousin, the coach, he really did well to have boys that age keep their composure. We got maybe two unsportsmanlike conduct calls, but considering what these 12 and 13 year old boys were up against, I thought they showed a lot of discipline.
Anyway. I've just been dragging around all day. I'm kinda in limbo about the Tahoe. OnStar emailed me the monthly report and it says there is a problem with the antilock brake system. I don't really want to go to the dealership -- it's in Next Town, and it will be more expensive, I suspect, so I'm trying to decide if it is okay to take it to a local mechanic whom I've been pleased with lately. I'll use dmom's truck while they work on it, either way... but if I drive dmom's truck to GriefShare or anything, I need to take it and get it washed. It sits under pine trees at ds' house and it looks awful.
I cannot tell there is anything wrong with the Tahoe. But I guess it knows what it is talking about, right?
Tomorrow, I have to get a mammogram, and I have to go to Wmart. A member of my Sunday School class lost her father this weekend, and I am on the meal group for Wednesday. I am taking rolls and tea.
I just have no confidence at all in my kitchen skills. One of the ladies is doing a pot roast and another is doing dessert. I guess someone else is doing another side dish.
I will definitely be glad to have that mammogram over and done with. The rash is still very present, but maybe the Rx cream is helping a little bit.
