I am tired. I'm hoping this is the last week of PT for now. I need to finish up p.m. routine, think about tomorrow a little, and I'll be done for the night.

mom cleaned my laundry room sink - she is feeling better!!! the water is helping her.
she also swept -
time to set up the groceries I bought her. I have 2 more pants cleaned for her and her new sweaters.
I am getting tired and getting sore muscles - sore muscles usually means I will get a headache.
things to do tomorrow:
hopefully new couch arrives
finish some dinners
call pt at moms place to get her into exercise twice a week

I 've had an easy dinner.
Going to vaccum by the vents and call it good for today.
Did a bit of yarn work to relax.

Quick check in.
Got up here at 4 yesterday. I had real trouble getting off due to frustration at all the effort for only 3 days up here. Since the drive is 3 hours and getting out the door and settled once I arrive takes a minimum of 3 hours, I find my 5 day trips are really only 3 days with all the unpleasant feelings I get during a transition. I literally was crying and having a mini-tantrum yesterday morning which made me much more sympathetic to dgs3 when he has troubles with transitions.
Worse, last time I got up here, within 20 minutes I was at peace. Last time I left, I didn't move the fridge back to the power bar but left it on the dodgy circuit. So this time, there was no peace. The power had flickered (never went out) which blew the GFI in the bathroom (which I learned today is improperly installed) and that meant the fridge was out when I got up here. Had been for 24 hours.
Everything in the freezer that had high sugar content had defrosted but there were still solid ice cubes and all the non-sugar cured meat was fine. So I lost the pizza, the bacon, 3 hot dogs, and half a tub of ice cream. All the baked items defrosted but will be fine to refreeze.
The fridge doesn't have anything that would go bad in it so those contents were fine.
But I was dealing with the cleanout for the first 30 minutes, then had to refill and set all the mousetraps (mice were in here because I had triggered all the traps when I left so I wouldn't return to a smell and all were emptied of bait.) I emptied the dead mouse out of the bucket trap in the crawl space and brought in more wood because the cabin was cold (just 60*.)
Then I finished unloading the car and putting everything away, then heated up the serving of sweet and sour pork which had defrosted in the freezer and had that for dinner. For dessert I had a s'more with the marshmallows roasted over the fire.
I went to bed late. I knew from reddit posts others were seeing the aurora in Ottawa so I knew I should be able to see them but didn't want to go outside because of the bear. So I looked out a window, didn't see anything, literally, it was too dark, and went to bed.
This morning the cottage was quite cold again (there is a furnace which is keeping the place at 60 but I'm trying not to turn it up more than that.) I emptied the ash from the firebox and then emptied that pail over at the burn pile on the other side of the property.
On the way back I met the current occupant of the cabin on the other side of me and he mentioned they saw the aurora last night. I said I was too scared to be out there because of the bear and he questioned me closely. They were standing in the field 100' from my cabin and had a view but not great colours when they looked at midnight. They heard a loud thud over by the burn pile and a shed's motion detector light came on but they thought it must be the fox. After I talked to him, he wasn't as sure given how loud the thud was. The bear must have knocked something over.
I went and visited at his place as he wanted to show me some of the electrical work he had done for my landlord. He'll come by tomorrow to fix the bathroom GFI and get the fridge off the extension cord. He's an electrician and dislikes that solution to my problem a lot! He comes 2x a year and works around the property in exchange for a discount.
This afternoon I spent doing an "Everyday Language" seminar for dgs3 since his parents were both at work. I still have to write up those notes and send them off to them. It is a 7 week program that was to begin last week but the trainer was sick so I ended up attending the first session. I had taken photos of the workbook when I was babysitting on Sunday so had that with me and took screen shots of the slides so I can intersperse my notes with the information presented.
Then, the rest of the day got away from me and I spent it watching TV. At one point I was thinking I'd go to bed at 8:30 but instead, it will be midnight. I need to get under the covers soon, the fire died out a couple of hours ago so it is getting cold in here.

Re: Let's hear it for the Ta das! Tuesday PWYC
I don't have any ta-das. Well, maybe --
* I figured out how to get my keyboard working again on this Chromebook.
* I finished the laundry.
* I bought groceries and put them away.
* I talked to the mechanic about the Tahoe.
* I got my mammogram and bone density test.
* I prepared for tomorrow night's Bible study lesson
* I talked to dmom, DS, and daunt (twice) (I think she forgot she had already called me -- but it might be that she just forgot to ask about dbro the first time we talked.)
and
* I texted with dbro.
WOW. -- I guess I do have some ta-da's.
It's good to come here and realize that yes, even though I slept all afternoon, I actually DID accomplish a few things today.
I have just felt kinda "off" I guess -- The last few days I've had to get up earlier and I've just been sooo sleepy in the afternoon.
I'm just beating myself up because of the things I haven't done --
vacuum, dust
clean bathrooms
teacher group email
misc other things I think I "should" be doing
-- like responding to all of your posts and contributing more to this discussion today.
Somewhere I read that grief is exhausting, physically and mentally. I guess that is true. I am certainly exhausted.
