K in C it's so good the read your updates!

I had dinner on the deck in one of the new lawn chairs I got this summer glad I thought of that before it got to cold.
Hemmed a project but when I changed thread had to redo the top one too not just the bobbin thread. So happy with one more project done.
I'd forgotten all about it.

Dishes are done that were in the sink. Got them put away too.
I did sweep a bit in the rec. room by the weaving zone.

Fox - wondering if someone has been feeding that fox and unnaturally taking away its fear of people. A few decades ago, I wouldn't have even wondered about that but recently there are so many accounts of foxes being raised like pets after orphaning, coming toward people because they are entertained by interesting moments like musicians, etc. I like this theory for Kathryn's sake better than what my parents would have immediately worried, that it could be sick.

I sort of hate to report since Kathryn didn't get to go see, but HERE, yes HERE in this area, the daughter35 of HRH's dcousin has just posted photos of less than an hour ago, seeing the lights, with lovely pinks in streaks. Really rather good photos. She is a very artsy person, easily sidetrackable plus rearing 4 boys, two adoptive, and always trying to give them varied experience. So, I fully believe this: She says she has been trying for 3 nights on a complete photography tangent about the lights, and hit the jackpot with these shots tonight.

I am sleepy. Going to find a pillow while the finding is good.

I SAW THE NORTHERN LIGHTS!!! I got some pretty good pictures, and DDIL got some really good pictures. Her phone is a newer model than mine.
I was so excited!
I could see them from my front porch, and I called DS/DDIL, and dfriend down the road -- had to leave voicemail, more on that later --
but y'all -- then I had a little adventure!
I decided I'd ride out to the pasture my mom owns, where she sold land a while back, you know. I figured there would be less "light pollution" out there, and less trees... so I went, and parked in the driveway to the barn... and y'all, I stirred up the whole community, I think. :lol: :oops: :lol: The new home owner noticed my lights, went out to his truck and shone his lights right at me. Well, that messed up my viewing and I knew I'd got him concerned, so I drove around to his house, where he met me in the driveway, and we laughed about it -- he and his wife are former students -- but he told me he had called his dad and the guy who rents the pasture. My goodness. :oops: I told him to call them back and tell them how crazy I am, and I asked how the new baby is... he said, "Well, it's late but if you don't have something you need to be doing, come on up and meet him." I said, "Really -- do I look like I have something I need to be doing???" :lol:
When I left their house after seeing his mom, wife, and beautiful 10-week-old baby, then the renters were at the entrance to the barn. I talked to them a good while, and we all laughed about me bringing some excitement to the neighborhood. :roll:
Obviously, I am starved for entertainment.

About the dfriend I left a voice mail for -- I'm going to put that in J&C --
Tomorrow is another day.

For those of you dealing with raccoons (and Kathryn with the fox) -- have y'all seen the video of the lady in Washington who had maybe a HUNDRED raccoons in her yard??? :shock:
Wow.

Kathryn, I hope everything works out with the car and you don't have to make extra time for charging.

Talking about Tetris -- I loved Tetris! The game I play mostly on my phone is kinda like Tetris; it's called Cube Block. DGD showed it to me. I told her it's her fault I'm addicted.

Nancy, dinner on the deck sounds so nice. It's definitely getting cooler at night here. I'll need a jacket Monday night for dgs' ballgame. I'm not going to the high school game tomorrow -- it's about an hour away. DS and dgs are riding the bus with the team. I know DGS will love that!

Both dgrands stayed home today with coughs, but DGS is going back tomorrow. DGD is staying out again, doctor has her on meds for ear/sinus infection. They both saw the doctor today, but I don't think DGS got any medicines; he does have a cough, but DDIL says he mostly wanted to be home because dgd was home, so she took them both to the doctor.
Sending lots of "feel better soon" wishes to you, blessed!

Sorry you're having car problems too, Harriet. It's always something, isn't it?
I wish I could normalize my sleep schedule a little more... I was so sleepy coming home from GriefShare last week that I kinda scared myself! I've got to do better next week.

Waving to Twins!

LadyM -- WOW -- you've gone down two sizes! That is great -- I mean, if you were trying to lose weight, that is. I'm just so focused on my weight all the time that I assume everyone is trying to lose. Of course, I'm not "trying" too hard. I had cheese sticks and chicken on a stick (fried) for supper. Not really a wise choice.

Rose, that's so neat that you're finding these new/old friends! It IS a small world, isn't it? I'm so glad y'all made it through the storm, and I hope things don't take too long to return to normal.

A few other thoughts, late night of course...
I was very late getting my day started but I am thankful for the things that were accomplished today.
* dbro texted to say he was fine, could I call dmom and let her know, he had no cell service
* talked to dmom a long while, but did my walking exercise while on the phone and also (while on the phone)
* took care of the teacher group emails
* texted with Dcousin re: memorial bricks from demolition of our elementary school
* checked ds' band website to update show dates
* did Bible reading
* texted w/dfriend who wanted to hear from dbro, and * almost * invited her to lunch Monday, but then realized I'll have the dgrands Monday morning and I don't know for how long, so I "rescinded" my offer. LOL, she said the next week would be better for her too. This is an accomplishment, because y'all know it's hard for me to initiate a social situation
* found out Tahoe was ready to be picked up
-- guy charged me $50 to check it out and drive it up and down the road, clear the brake alert code, find nothing that needed repair :?
* FINALLY s2s
* called DS to take me to pick up the Tahoe
* got supper and mail
* watched TV, napped, and finally went out to see the Northern lights. :D
* let everyone know how silly I am (see earlier post)

Well, it's almost 2:00 a.m. and I'm going to read awhile and then turn the TV down so it's just a quiet background noise.
Tomorrow is another day.
