hello again - eeek - the day is zooming by!!!!

hello d lady - glad the hours are finished on your surgery recovery schedule..
lol about the processed food - your dear son sounds like my dh!

hello b is sweet.
yay on bookcases! and all you have done!

hi d Nancy
yay on mowing the back yard and all you have done

hi d Kathryn - good for you for finishing your reading for the meeting - all prepared!!!
hope the walk feels good!!!

this day is zooming by and I don't like it :) 8-)

I bought spaetzel bc I just didn't want to make it from scratch - sautéing onion with bacon for my mom's spaetzel
dd younger was going to make schnitzel but I found it already put together in the butcher section. I won't be having schnitzel - thinking of a vegetarian option for me.

I want to fill the bird baths but they need cleaning.
I fed the birds

tomorrow dh has his trac appointment - I am praying the new button trac will work - I do not want to have to put an old type trac in bc of an emergency of him not being able to breath with the new trac. They said it can happen. - knowing that I have his life in my hands if I can't get it in makes it scary. I just have to believe I can do it just like all the things we do for our loved ones. praying that the new button trac works and there are no middle of the night emergencies.

since dd picked up d mom and gave her breakfast/meds and took her to the store then it's my turn to take her home tonight.

I need to regroup my thoughts
it is always a joy to be here with you!

dinner was good - red cabbage was very good - I ended up having a good piece of bread with some herbed brie cheese instead of the schnitzel.
dishes are all washing in the dw yay.
one black iron skillet needs scrubbing and washing. dried on stove - still seasoned

sink cleaned
dw done
counters cleaned
swept kitchen
it is always a joy to be here with you!

On my walk I ran into the caretaker and reported the squirrels were still coming and going. Since all the access holes were patched, the thought is they may have sealed them in. I doubt it.

I've been hearing critters all day and there are a couple of interior walls here that are not log (just the outside walls are logs) and so I'm starting to think they are might be going up the wall between the fridge and the living room since I hear stuff there all the time. On the other hand, I catch mice behind the fridge sometimes, and as dd says, if you have mice you may think they are squirrels and if you have squirrels you may think they are racoons, since animals sound 'louder' than you expect when they are in the walls. And squirrels on the roof sound like squirrels in the attic a lot of the time (but in the summer they are pretty distinctive, chattering at me in the tree, then a thud as they landed on the roof, then I figure they were dropping into the gutter, and then through a small hole because then I could hear them running along the soffits and the soffits are open to the attic, plus there was the whole issue of a hole appearing in the spare bedroom ceiling.)

Anyway, not my problem, unless they pop through the ceiling in the next two weeks. You can bet I'm actually watching for more ceiling holes!

I was prepared for the meeting. And participated fully. Got three pages of notes, too. BUT didn't do anything else aside from make a nice big salad to have with me quiche for dinner.

I think I'll head to bed now. I've let the fire die down to encourage an early bed tonight.

Tomorrow is my last chance to get any work done before heading home. I also have to clean the glass of the fireplace door and empty out the ash from the past 48 hours of fires. I'll have to do that when I first wake up, tonight's overnight low is mid 20s so I'll want a fire pretty early, or I'll need to turn up the furnace. Last night the furnace woke me up because the fan on it is noisy. It comes on to keep this place at 61.
