someone really bright, yet so unassuming and modest about it. He goes into a conversation with the idea that the other person is genuinely worth listening to and knows things he does not.
That is wonderful, Harriet -- it's a quality that is sometimes hard to find. Your dd and sil sound like they are really off to a good start.
I have a wedding question, but I will put this in J&C. Not a BIG concern, but I don't want to act tacky, if you know what I mean.

I won't be able to reply to everyone, I'm so late getting here. BUT - I am actually sitting in bed, with my nighttime t-shirt on, I've done all my nighttime routine, (except washing dishes, which I have let sit for waay too long).
I am curious to know, as DGS says, did LadyM ever hear more about the late night call for DS? It does sound a little "off" for two adults to allow a girl to call 16 year old friend to help them make a mile to their home. Very interesting.
I will NOT be sitting at the computer till 5:00 a.m., then play on my phone till almost 6:00 a.m.,(plus taking time to kill the SPIDER crawling across the pillow beside me... EEEK. That took a while to come down from.) I did finally get ds' photo book completed (Christmas present) and ordered one for my dmom and myself.
Also glad the medical procedures are oover for a while for Twins & dh, and for Rose!

I told my ladies at Bible study tonight, I am sorta in a manic-depressive state.
Sunday night, stayed up all night Christmas shopping online.
Monday night, had a nose-wiping, sobbing, ugly cry. (Dmom keeps telling me I am doing sooo well, and she is so proud of me... compared to the way she dealt with the first year or so after my dad died... but honestly, I'm just getting good at distracting myself. If I allow myself to think about dh, more often than not tears will come.
Tonight I had a crying jag during the CMA awards -- Jelly Roll and Kix & Dunn sang the song "I Believe" -- lyrics, "I'll see my wife and son in just a little while... I raise my hand... bow my head...I'm finding more truth in the words written in red, there's more to life than just what I can see, oh I believe..." But I quit crying when the tribute to George Strait came on -- Lifetime Achievement Award. :D
I am absolutely not interested in the rocket scientist that I told y'all about, but I gotta say, I think dh never considered that I might be unfaithful, but I think he always thought if George Strait or OG showed up on our doorstep, I might be tempted to run off with them. Since he figured one was just as likely as the other, he trusted me always. Two years ago, I learned that the latter was not a total impossibility... but again, I have to thank God for protecting me from myself and taking that person out of my life.

If y'all don't know Jelly Roll, he is a very obese man with tattoos all over his face and everywhere else that is visible. He looks like a rap artist or someone who just got out of prison, but he is a good singer, and when the song was over, he raised his hand and said, "I love you, Lord."
George Strait also said, first thing, "I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."

Tuesday night, stayed up all night doing Christmas prep again.
This is the first "normal" day I've had.

None of these were really "anti-procrastination" tasks, but -- CI:
I walked (indoors) almost an hour this morning, and my step count today was 9604! That is unheard of for me!
I adjusted the price of the unsold 3 tickets for this weekend's game and they sold almost immediately.
I went to the drug store for dmom and took her Rx to her. Also went to bank and post office.
I folded the towels and underwear that I had left on the couch yesterday.
I treated myself to a sandwich and smoothie at local coffee shop. This is really a treat -- that little meal costs $15 -- and I didn't even get chips. The sandwich is just the size of regular loaf bread, but Oh. My. Goodness. The bread is sooo good. I always get cheesy bacon bread. It is fresh baked at a local Amish bakery. Sooo good. Then I had to give DGS half of it -- and half the smoothie! I returned fire ant poison to DS, and DGS came home with me. He is at that age where he is ALWAYS hungry.
I studied my lesson and went to church.
And best of all, I did NOT take a nap. (I did sleep super late this morning.)

So -- tomorrow I am taking dmom to the pain clinic. She is really having a rough time with pain in her hip, where the pain doctor have her an epidural/steroid shot. She said when felt it when he hit a nerve on that side, and she has been in terrible shape ever since. At least home health has started. Nurse has done her evaluation, occupational therapist came and said she really didn't need that service (she is able to do all the self-care tasks), and today they came and did an X-ray of the hip right there in her home! We didn't know they were able to do that, but apparently they have a portable X-ray device now. Physical therapist will be coming soon, and dmom is hopeful they can help her regain her strength.

While in Next Town with dmom, I am going to return the shoes I ordered online, and when I get home, top priorities are typing teacher group notes and year-end summary of church activities for pastor.
Hope y'all have a great day!
