Dove, that sounds ideal for wrapping music. Hope you get a lot done efficiently. Sometimes I can sit at 'puter when I don't feel like much else. Also, I noticed today that a lecture-type of yt or something will make me sleepy, which could be a plus!

No doubt, blessed, it is the meds affecting my taste buds - expected, suggested as a common thing. It's okay. I'm glad doctor witnessed your dmother's situation but disappointed to hear he didn't realize it's 5 years in, now. I hope there is no further valve deterioration, and she can be stable with that.

DangerBoy visited! Home from college, walking our granddog. He is so respectful, talking to us through the screen porch door. How I wanted a hug, but we are both old enough for our wants not to hurt us. I can tell him so much when he is by himself without little cousins and brothers, so now he knows a lot about my treatments. He is putting on a few pounds, not so skinny now as a freshman, downright handsome, very trimmed beard. Looks studious! All "A"s. He is playing pickup basketball often. Has landed a spot in a foursome for a dorm placement together next year, so virtually guaranteed housing as a group and making friends with those smart enough to see he's calm, responsible roommate material. (My opinion of his modest statements) Grandma's heart warmed. sniffle

I was frank and irritable with another visitor couple who didn't get the message well about "doctor says". Ya'll wouldn't have known me. HRH said I did well and he was relieved. I called from hall, "guys, can you break this up? I am hungry and I can't get past you to my kitchen". :| HRH scurried them out the door. Steroids - they cut to the chase, don't they?

I did nap. Holding out hope that tonight can be more normal.

The lady who cut my hair sent a toboggan she crocheted by way of dd44. It is definitely of leftovers, but I admire how she can use so many changes of colors and keep the work neat. Soft, I notice.

I just made up a medium sized tin of home made cookies for a friend of ours. There were 7 different kinds of cookies IF you count 3 types of shortbread cookies as 3 different cookies. There are 4 people in their family, so 28 cookies! I did know that I would be giving them a lot because there are 4 of them.

There are still 5 tins out in the freezer. Unfortunately I need to go hunt for mincemeat this week. Dh did tell me that he will take any mincemeat tarts, even from a bakery if I can't find mincemeat.

It's raining here and the temps are dropping.

Worked at noisy stuff once I got home from dinner.

Here's where I stand an hour before lights-out time.

1. produce the Christmas Eve Church Service Bulletin: not finished due to loss of 4 hours going to dd's. On the other hand, I did get the music picked and to the musician and the service is now 2/3 finished.

2. Take the empty Christmas decoration bins and the new car booster seat down to the storage room. Done by dh

3. Take the resident association stuff back to their locker. Done by dh

4. Put away dgs3.5's toys properly. Done

5. Strip the bed and put on fresh sheets.Done

6. Empty the drying rack in the bedroom. Done

7. Strip dgs3.5's bed, wash his sheets and reset it to be ready for him. Also empty and clean his humidifier. Will be done by bedtime.

8. Dust the bedrooms. Done

8.5 Water the plants and dead-head leaves/blooms to make sure I don't let leaves end up on the floor after vacuuming. Done

8.75 Vacuum or dust the dining room table first to make sure I don't put crumbs on the floor after vacuuming. Done

9. Vacuum the apartment. Thoroughly. Half Done

Dh has just said he's headed to bed, so I should also make sure the bedroom is tidied. I think it is but need to check.

It has been a productive day. Now to see if I can put two of them in a row and finish the rest of the list tomorrow. Tomorrow's list includes having to go out to run errands.

Well, y'all, I sorta missed the parade.
Yesterday, I said, "PODA looks like this -- " and here we go:

[x] Call cousin 2 re: Cousin Out of State DONE
[x] Call cousin 1 re: info from cousin 2 DONE
None of the next stuff got done...
-- Call BBQ place and order our meal for Christmas Eve
-- Wmart
-- Mail dniece's bday card with gift card (which I will need to purchase at Wmart.) Found out dniece won't be home until the 30th, and her bday is Saturday.
-- Go to post office, go to electric co-op and pay bill
And this... well, I need to wait for new info from College Town re: next year's tickets. It usually comes in December... still got 9 days before Christmas...
-- Type up accounting for dbil's tickets -- we settle up at the end of the year -- condo expenses vs ticket expenses. Usually he owes us money. I hope that holds true again. ;)

OTOH -- Re: cousin out of state... All right,
I called Cousin 2. They say Cousin 3 left them with the idea that he would call Cousin Out of State.
I called Cousin 3... no... he doesn't remember talking to Cousin Out of State. (But I did talk to his wife, who is one of my favorites, and she has COPD and has been homebound for awhile, so I don't see her at church anymore.
Finally, I just bit the bullet and called her. I'm saying, "Well, there's just no way to say this but to jump in and say it... Did any of us tell you about dh?"
"Oh yes," she says.
Y'all.. guess who called her?
...
Yep... ME. Oh. My. Goodness. Then I was so embarrassed that I didn't remember talking to her!!!
Fortunately, she is one of the best people ever, and she said, "Girl, you are going to have times like that. Don't you think a THING about it! I have thought of calling you so many times, but I didn't want to call and make a bad day worse, and I just would put it off and didn't know what to do..."
So we had a nice talk, and I guess all is well, but I feel so silly. I told her I'd been calling all around to see who, if anyone, told her. Shaking my head. I also told her about missing the dentist appointment a couple weeks ago.
She gave me a good idea! She said her daughter puts all her appointments in her phone for her, and then she gets the reminder in time that she can't miss it.
I called Cousins 1 & 2 back to let them know they were off the hook, and this lady is doing well. I didn't call Cousin 3 because he doesn't care anyway, I think. He's probably already forgotten about it.

I did that for the two upcoming this week.
Also today, after lying in bed watching the news about Wisconsin this morning, I did accomplish a few things.
-- I walked my 15 minutes while talking to DS on the phone. (Gosh, why didn't I walk while talking to cousin 1 last night? I'd have made my quota for the month! )
-- After all those phone calls, I s2s.
-- I cleaned out the refrigerator, out of date food. I throw out a LOT of food lately, it seems. Moldy cheese... past its date buttermilk... moldy rolls from Thanksgiving... the extra pack of cinnamon bread from Domino's a week or so ago... It's a real waste. I need to figure this out.
-- I went out to eat with DS and dgrands... and we stopped at dmom's and helped her get lights on her Christmas tree.
-- Took a picture of a picture of some people whom she can't identify. I plan to visit my great-aunt tomorrow and show it to her.
-- Took ds and dgrands home.
-- Stopped by dcousin's house to give her a small Bible dmom had found that belonged to my dad's grandfather. The Bible lists my aunt as his "closest kin." Dmom wanted daunt to have it.

Since getting home, I've wasted a lot of time on the internet -- before coming here -- and I need to review those Christmas cards and do stamps and return address stickers, but I may just give it up and try to go to bed at a more reasonable hour.

Kathryn, looks like your day has been especially ambitious. BIG WTG on all you (and dh!) accomplished!
I think I missed something -- dgs8? I hope things are going okay with him.

Cathy, are there any tips for freezing (and later thawing) the cookies in the tins? Do you just put them in the tins, with maybe parchment paper between layers? I've never frozen cookies in tins before. I've never frozen cookies at all, actually. Hmmm... I do have some of the frozen cookies the school sells every year. They turn out really good. But they have to be baked 10-15 minutes; they aren't already done. I was assuming you bake yours before you put them in the tins.

It's actually thundering here tonight. Pouring down rain. Weather app says it's 61 degrees and it is MIDNIGHT. I love it, really, but I know this is not normal weather.
And I hope it doesn't rain on me all day tomorrow -- I have to be in and out all day with doctor's appt and shopping and visiting daunt.

Harriet, I am so glad you got to visit with DangerBoy! I still have a hard time believing he is in college! Our little group here has been together a long time, haven't we? I remember when he was born!
And good for you on getting rid of the visitors who were not as considerate as he was!
(((HUGS))) and LOL at the effect of steroids. I remember getting a shot, probably the first time I had had steroids, and I went to school and I just felt like if anyone gave me any trouble, I could probably just throw them through a wall. Now that I think of it, I remember I was sorta "short" with a coworker/friend, and I apologized and told her it was the shot.
So sweet of the lady who cut your hair to make you a toboggan.

Nancy -- sometimes funny but mostly dumb is just what we need.

Twins, you've been awfully productive today too! WTG!

Rose... your recipes sound so good! I'm glad I've got gumbo from a favorite restaurant in my freezer.

LadyM -- you definitely don't have the problem I do with food going bad in the refrigerator!

I'm probably missing someone -- waving to ALL!!!

Tomorrow (Tuesday)
[ ] pay electric bill
[ ] gyno appt
